Curious blue eyes turned to the draconic figure next to her. Yes you! Like you! You look like them but at the same time you look like me. The other one did it back and forth, can you do it back and forth too? Can I do it? Of course all those thoughts were merely in her head and all that came out toward Kaznec were a few draconic noises that any dragon would understand as baby talk more or less. She was getting a handle on her words some, and was apparently picking them up fast. But her sentence structure was still off. Obviously she was trying to ask him such questions...one just had to think hard or logically on the beastial sounds that were broken sentences in thier creature tongue. Mostly consisting of dragon, Rider (which could probably be considered her word for bipeds), change, and mix.

"I knew what soap was and it didn't go in the mouth. That was for food and drink, only. Not the stuff that gets the dirt off of my body after I played outside." She didn't quite understand why Caden had been forced to eat? it, but humans were odd creatures. She'd seen a human parent smack a child in various ways until the little one screamed. Then she'd questioned her parents to distraction about it, too. That's the day she'd learned the real difference between elves and humans. She shuddered thinking of some of the things her parents had revealed.
"That means you and I can walk and talk." Especially since Savvy was apparently being assaulted by Hunter...yet again. Glancing at Malik and Caden for a moment, her gaze hit the skies as another shape blocked out part of the sun's rays. "Kaznec is good for her, I think. Jaebelltiah, too. Do you think they'll make more progress with her than we will?"
Eilynne nodded, "I know you don't agree, but Kaznec does. That should tell you quite a bit about him, Jaebelltiah." But leaving that alone since she sensed hesitancy and an irritation about that whole subject. "Your mind is growing at those times. It is important you indulge those urges, so if there is anything I can get for you, please let me know. Your inventions do nothing but help us and they are worth investing in. I do not think whacking you with anything is going to help, however. Tends to be counterproductive if one is being beaten to use their potential."

Noises did not help at all. He was not good with children or the young of any species, in fact. All he could gather from her were fragments of their shared language, something about differences and questioning. Not nearly enough for his rationality to help him put the puzzle together. He stared at her, confused but knowing that she was still trying to communicate something and he shouldn't ignore that. "Sky..." That was her name right? "Renthisj gocahel slowly." Would she understand that? He was feeling quite hopeless now.

"The whole point of the soap in mouth is if the child has a 'filthy' mouth, if they say bad words and what not. We don't eat it of course. But it's rarely used anyway as discipling a child but when people say that as they are older it's suppose to be used as a joke." He didn't mind that elves were disciplined differently, people just had ways about going about it that's all. Though a light blink as Shyrae glanced at him for a moment then he too turned his head upwards and smiled when he saw Kaz. "And the commander makes his return..." He muttered lighty, that meant the whole crew was back together. "I bet stew will be on the menu tonight again."

"That's a stupid concept." Shaking his head as he just didn't get it. A child's mouth was filthy if they said someting wrong? What a horrid thing to reinforce when it was compeltely wrong to do so. However he was easily distracted as everyone else at the two dragons that were cruising the air above them. "I don't think it's a matter of who is teaching her things, but that it's kept consitent. Common tongue is easy to learn, that's why she's picking it up already. Being a dragon, and they're hightly intelligent, I suspect she'll start picking up everything left and right."
Something seemed to click in her brain and it was obvious by the blink that was given at the language. Wheels were turning in it and she knew she knew those words. They seemed to be in her blood. Speak more slowly...was she speaking too fast? Sky worked her jaw a moment as if she was trying to for words over produce noises from her throat. Eventually though it seemed to click, though the sentence was still baby like, "Udoka ekess Urthalre thirku?"
Kaznec did? What had these two been having late night conversation or something. Not that that was any of her business or anything. Some matters were private. But a little chuckle as the creature took her words literally, it was cute really. "Thank you for the offer, I'll be sure to keep it in mind. I do have another idea floating around in my head...maybe you'll find it as useful as all my others. Or maybe there is something you've always wanted made easier as far as object use wise and I can make it for you." Going quiet a moment before shifting some again. "Thank you for staying with me, I know you have more important matters to attend to."

"Yes, she did pick up basics rather quickly. I still believe she was taught what she needed to know but in a stunted way. Dragons have certain things like languages in their blood, though. They don't even have to really be taught such a thing before it comes naturally." Watching the pair again."I think it's good for her to be around them as much as possible, though. Maybe before too much longer we can convince her to change and work with her that way. Certainly will make traveling easier." Giving a giggle at that.
"I have no current thoughts of such a thing but when I do, I shall let you know. Rahsaveer might have an idea as well. I'll be sure to ask him. We both appreciate your ingenuity very much. A strategist is a very important person to have on a voyage of this sort. Remember that, Jaebell. If I might call you that?"
Eilynne merely blinked at her for a moment. "What is more important than the health of those I chose myself? My whole purpose is to watch over this voyage and ensure all are to return to the best of my ability. Once again I negelcted that duty and because of it, you were bitten by something and are now in this state. I apologize for that, Jaebelltiah." Bowing her head in supplication and sorrow. "It is only fitting that I stay with you when you require company."

Watching her intently for a moment, he frowned at her physical response. Something had flared in her draconic eyes but that didn't mean that she understood him. Maybe she just recognized her own name? Or perhaps she was recognizing him as friend, not foe? Or perhaps... Lips twitching slightly, he processed her answer. Well that was slower for sure and he understood the words separately, but together? He decided to focus on one aspect her knew of. "Udoka, darastrix. Urthalre, munthrek." Nice, slow, simple enough. Would that work?

"What so little kids swearing is a good thing? But like I said it is rarely used at all. More or less back in the old days. My parents never did but they did talk about it." A small shake of his head before he turned to Shyrae and gave a light nod. "I bet in a few weeks or less she'll be speaking common pretty good. But as for change well hopefully she'll be willing to. I think Kaz and Jae can get her to, she must have an interest after being around the two of them and watching them shift."

She blinked, looking away a moment as if she was trying to work things in her head again before a slight shift in wings to change her course a little and she seemed to playfully swipe at him as she passed over him and decided she didn't want to be between the ship and him. She wanted to be on the outside. "Charir trian Aussir trian. Darastrix... munthrek..." The last word slow and taking a moment to sound out...testing it in place of the word that she knew with the new one he had called them by.
"Little children, should know better than to swear if they are taught thus. I swore when I was little, but my parents didn't shove soap in my mouth to clean the word out of me when I did. They merely corrected me and made me understand it was not good to use." Punishment is what he considered that and punishment was different from discipline. Crossing his arms again he watched the two dragons before a look to the ship ahead and then back to those that were with him, a glance over to his father and a glance over to Savvy and Hunter. Observation, one of his loves. "Yes it will. I'm sure curiosity will spur her to many things. Hm, I haven't seen the white one though, where's she at?"
"Everyone needs a strategist. Someone has to do the boring yet inventive thinking. And you can call me that if you wish. I think others enjoy trying to find a way to turn my name into a nickname." Nodding though to the creature that was playing comfort buddy. "Don't blame just yourself. Besides, we needed to go out and get food anyway just in case. Accidents happen. You don't have to apologize."

He actually raised a hand to prepare to defend himself at her sudden movement. There was always going to be that inherent cautiousness built into him but seeing her move to the outside, he understood that she meant no harm and merely adjusted his course and looked back to her. She understood him... They were actually carrying a conversation? This was new to him but he easily related the colors she spoke of to meaning Jae and himself. She seemed to understand that. Humans however... "Charir, aussir, ulhar Sky. Darastrix." Glancing down at the ship for a moment, he pointed to Caden then slowly moved his finger along, stopping firmly at a few pirates that were making their way along the rigging. "Munthrek." Affirming that with a nod in her direction.

"Those same children must be taught those words before they can repeat them. Isnt' that true as well? Perhaps the parents should watch a little more closely what little ears take in and then break the connection before little mouths can repeat. Regardless, correction shouldn't be causing the child to cry needlessly. Little ones are quite smart and they understand fairly quickly. Discipline is key, but forcing soap down a child's throat is just cruel."
She glanced around the ship and then shook her head. "She was hurt back at our previous camp so she's probably resting. Savvy did what she could to assist but you know how necromancy handles in the body. I'm sure Jaebelltiah is none too pleased to be awake right now."
"I appreciate you trying to make me feel better but it is not necessary. I accept the responsibility that is mine to own." But she moved slightly and began pressing on various organs and whatnot, testing to the rudimentary knowledge she did have. "Accidents...such a thing is a foreign concept to me. In our world, everything has purpose and reason."

She watched his movments and worked her jaw again as if searching for more words. She understood the concept he was trying to give. They were seperate things...but red and white were not dragons. Well...not all the way, right? Another shift in flight path before she pounced him in the air, tossing both of them into the sands to skid a few feet before they stopped, her straddling him in the sand. "Thric charir trian. Darastrix," Tugging at his tail and pawing lightly at his wings, "Munthrek," pawing at his hands and chest, though always careful with her claws. "Trian. Sky darastrix."
"Ah, so that's what's happened. But dare say I am amused that Savvy helped." Lowering his voice on that last part, just to avoid or at least trying to avoid a shock from his sister. "Admittedly, I can understand. Remember when that snake bit me? It was not a nice feeling the day after I tell you what." Turning another look to Caden, "ISn't something I think one should joke about." Blinking then as blue took down red out of the corner of his eye. "Hm, should we worry over that or not?"
Bell folded her wings, letting Eilynne poke around as she wanted. "Accident. When something happens and you didn't mean for it to happen and you didn't try to make it happen. Like if I loose my balance and fall, and break something or bump into someone. That's an accident." A little blink. "Everything? How can life for you go so scripted and orderly? Nothing ever happens like I proposed?"

She agreed with Dhairiss. "Time out should only be employed to teach a child that screaming and throwing a fit is not a conductive use of one's voice and abilitites. My parents used to put me in my room when I was being unreasonable and I had to stay there until I was civil. Then we sat down and talked about what had happened and why I chose the choices I did."
Her gaze had been stolen by what was happening in the sky as well and she raced to the side watching the two plummet. "I don't know. Kaznec might take it as a threat and react as a Commander instead of remembering she's just a baby and is likely trying to play." Fretting now like any mother would. "Be ready to help me, Dhairiss..."
"Our plane is vastly different from yours. Things do not happen by chance per se the way they can here. We do have unplanned happenings, but these are called breaches of fate to us and all is planned by the Goddess. She chooses to alter the colors in the tapestry for her own reasons. Sometimes she allows us to know why and other times she does not." Pausing a moment and then letting the glimmers of a smile dance, "I don't think we quite have a word for what you manage to do, Jaebell."

Caden blinked but didn't say another word, no reason to carry on the conversation anymore than it had to. Though he turned around and raised an eyebrow at the sight of Sky taking down the commander. "What the?" A pause as he kept on looking before turning to Shyrae who was near by. "I hope she's only playing." He was ready to react but then again the elves could probably get to them a lot faster than he could. Still just what was the dragon up to anyway?
