The effect, as the missile struck, would be one half as powerful as it would originally have been, this of course, was due to the chilling version of the fire shield which lit up around the creature, the amount of heat energy cut in half as the rest was extinguished. But that fact would make little difference as the explosion was still powerful, blowing sand in all directions as steam filled the area due to the chill, fogging up the immediate area. When the fog would dissipate, not too long after the explosion, the behemoth would be seen with it's leg which had been struck sunken in the sand, having fallen into the hole in the explosion and then the surrounding sane caving in around it. The explosion however, also caused it to tip its balance, as it was slanted over on one side, its legs pushing itself back up just as the steam dissipated. But how much damage had been done? Methane burns, producing a blue flame which has a short lifespan when ignited. However, as much or as little energy it produces as it is burnt, it does not possess significantly higher amounts of explosive power on its own unless it was pressurized. In the case of the flamed which ignited around Latent in the odd creature's arrival, and the flames were 'eaten' as the gas lit up and the fires expanded, a large portion of the gas would not have been ignited, due to the flames being sucked into the man and unable to ignite the rest. Anyways, technicalities and all that other mumbo jumbo aside, even though cut in half, the amount of energy in the explosion was significant, going off like a grenade at the thing's rear leg. And then in that timeframe of... what? 5 seconds? It would once again direct its attention back to Vahn. Turning around as it pulled its leg out of the sand. A boney appendage which was... bent? The bone behemoth, like other constructs, is composed of a specific type of object, where in this case, bone. However, when the leg should have exploded into splinters, instead, it warped against the force of impact and was thrown off. This is because the giant bones used for the construction of the construct were treated with a Transmute Bone to Steel spell, which in this case, gave the bones the property of solid steel. It was like a tank in a quite literal sense. Quote: 6th Level - Transmute Bone to SteelA wizard casting this spell makes any object made of bone, including a skeleton, as strong as steel. The spell may be cast only upon dead, inanimate bones; after they have been transmuted, the bones may now be animated by the usual means. Despite their increased strength, the bones do not change in appearance, and they retain their original weight. But wait... a construct? Constructs were not intelligent creatures, in fact, they were neither living nor dead, sort of like a robot in a sense. But if they were not intelligent, then how did this one speak? Oh well, the beast would have turned around and gone back after the man, standing in the frame of a hole in a wall, temperatureless blue flames twisting around its form.

((Erinn gave me permission to NPC the wyvern for this post.)) Right when Lucind wanted to take breath for the second part of her attack - the paralyzing melody - a foreign screech teared the air around and forced some strangles noise coming from the woman's lips. With her sensitive hearing the behemoth's voice struck her hard and for a moment Lucind thought she was going to faint. However, in the same moment her psionic shields kicked in and her mental structure did its best to adapt to the unpleasant, quasi-magical frequency. Thus, the stunning effect wore off of the Half-Siren immediately and when she looked up the next time she saw the weird monster rushing towards her. But there was still the wyvern. In addition to his panick from being injured and crashing on the ground, the death scream of his brother being roasted in the shipwreck's flames had send the young wyvern into a berserk like mode - whereas the screech of the beast had a similar effect on Lucind but not as strong as the one caused by the behemoth. The wyvern's normal instincts had been twitched out and it would come at its target until it was stopped in one way or another. However, Lucind's and the monster's sound wave attacks left their marks at the wyvern, nevertheless, leaving it staggering around for a moment. So, when Lucind raised her head she saw the wyvern in front of her stumble and the skull monster heading on, aiming for her right flank. She couldn't tell what exactly had happened to Vahn but thought to have heard him screaming. Also, the behemoth's speed was something she didn't like at all. The best idea she got in that moment was using the wyvern's disorientation and bring it between her and the monster. Therefore, she sprinted towards the wyvern's right side. A second or two later, though, Vahn's flame-arrow hit its target - and steam spread throughout the area. This wouldn't stop the wyvern from rampaging but it was advantageous for Lucind. Letting her ears guide her, the woman approached the beast, avoiding beating wings. The e'shaton in her hand transformed back into its peal form for a moment but it was already been charged with sound wave energy for Lucind incantated some melody under her breath while getting close to the beast. The pearl in her hand turned into the staff once more: it hummed and vibrated, the air around the fork-shaped end got blurred. The woman had to tighten her grip around it and went for the actual attack when she was near the wyvern's head and still walking or dancing around to make sure the berserk didn't waltz her down: Lucind jumped and used her charged staff as a spear, trying to ram the tuning fork into the wyvern's throat. If it hit, it would most likely cut off the beast's breath. In addition, the sound waves being released by contact would tear flesh and tissue around, maybe even blow away a good part of the beast's head. After throwing the staff, Lucind would head out of the wyvern's range and pull out her wah sikeils.

Did it--?!
He stared out with simply his right eye, the left side of his face covered in blood and hampering his vision.
His chest rose and fell with breath, his jacket long since discarded (as seen in picture). He stared towards where he sent his projectile, unable to tell of any positive results right away.
It's been so long since I've shot one of these... my aim isn't so good.
He chuckled softly, as he lowered the bow slightly, even as he managed to make out a blurred shape.
--No!
He could already see it barrelling down at him, charging clear of the smoke. He stood his ground, lifting his left arm, and tugging back on an unseen string.
A blackened 'arrow' came to life, fitting perfectly against the bow. Shaking slightly, he aimed as best as he could, taking into account the curve the arrow would take upon launch.
"EAT THIS!"

Greeneyes could care less about trucks, about undead, and about anything else. Her mission here was to be sure Joseph Brown made it back to the A~E building safely, and gave her approval for Monroe to begin working on a cure for her.
So, sighing, the hreni woman went running after him, straight into the carnage.

Those shots would prove to be rather annoying if left to continued, so where was the safest place to avoid such attack? Probably in the air, for if left free, the behenoth's mass would act with a pushing force against an explosion rather than a crushing force as it had no base to hold it against.
Now, resembling a spider, its capabilities were similar to the creature it mimics. A jumping spider can jump fifty times its own length. The behemoth can jump twenty normally, fourty with the Haste spell in effect.
As the monster neared, its body lowered as its head tucked down, relatively standard to a charge attack, lowering its center of gravity for better balance and to recieve force against the charge, but just then, its legs would suddenly spring up, pushing its bulk into the air as it flew up and forward.
Where Vahn would be standing at that moment as he took aim, around the frame of the wall, if he had not already fired the arrow, his aim would soon be blocked out as the monster rose into the air by the upper frame of the wall.
But now, where was it going? It certainly jumped too high and far to land right in front of Vahn to attack him. Instead, it would land right on top of the roof of the building if it was small enough, or right against the wall above the hole, pointed legs smashing through bricks as it held itself in place if it was a larger building. And as it would do so, its tail which ended in three points like a pitchfork would swing downwards and jab into the hole in the wall, where Vahn was last seen.

Unlike most people, Vahn (while possesing to a degree, god-like reflexes) could not retract his action.
The arrow left the bow, and shot forward, only to continue shooting through nothing but air, impacting against something in the distance with another explosion.
"--Tch!"
His eye trailed upwards, as the spider...walker did it's impersonation of Michael Jordan.
Where the hell is---- OSHI--!
The building threatened to collapse under the new weight, as walls and support trembled. Vahn stared up to the ceiling above him, a good 2-3 floors seperating him from the thing atop the roof now.
At the same time the monster's tail would come down and in through the hole in the wall, jabbing like a scorpion's stinger.
Out of the corner of his eye, Vahn noticed it; which was really the only thing that prevent the tail jab from being fatal.
His shoulders, and left side of his face gained deep lines of crimson, as the points of the 'fork' sliced against his skin like a knife cutting melon. He staved off the majority of the spikes with the length of his flame bow, jamming the middle somewhat along the partitions of the tail.
This action forced his feet to drag backwards, as he resisted, the bow cracking under the pressure.

((I'm going to go by the second option with the behemoth against the wall rather than the roof if its a multiple storied building since its tail really shouldn't be that long.))
Solidity. For something like this construct, it could hardly tell the difference between a body or something else entirely, only that a body was soft and squishy and something like furniture would probably give more resistance against the strike. And as it had stopped against something, which didnt feel all that squishy, it would retreat back out of the hole for a moment and then jab back in at a different direction. It wasnt like it could really see, so the next best thing was to go at random spots for a bit and see if anything was struck.
This of course, would last all of 6 seconds before it would move onto something else.

As it retracted it's tail it might have noticed a subtle difference in weight.
"N--ugh!"
Grabbing on tightly, even though the sharpness bit into his bare hand, he was dragged right out of the hole with the tail, lifted high into the air as it made ready to stab down and in yet again (assuming).
At the point in the air, Vahn would have let go, his left hand still clutching the cracked and breaking bow.
Hanging in the air for a bit, he brought the bow forward, pulling back with his right hand. He had somewhat of a perfect shot from above.
Alright then--!!
A blackened arrow formed, taking along with it most of the bow's mass, forming into an 'overload' of a shot. The creation was more than unstable as well as volatile, risking going off in his own face.
"Daaaaamn you!!!"
He cut loose with a tremendous boom.

*The wyvern had drawn her head back to the opposite side, winding up to use her head as a battering ram to try and send the comparitively frail Siren flying... Just as Lucind pitched the staff at the beast.
The wyvern's hulking shoulder was interposed between the 'spear' and it's target however....
THHHHHAAAAM!--
Shhhhlllooop --
The explosion, and the sound of blood and thicker things being blown from the wyvern's body filled the air, adding to the chorus of Vahn's screams and explosions loosed from his bow.
The attack had blown most of the beast's shoulder away, the meat severed clear down to the bone, burnt musle and flesh exposed. The smell of blood and seared flesh was acrid... Lucind would have to be mindful of the bloodspray from the wound, as the beast's life blood was scalding in nature.
The wyvern, having only two legs to begin with, could no longer support herself, and fell to the ground with a thundrous crash... burns and cuts over her face, from the edge of the energy explosion having blinded her utterly... She thrashed!
Her long, bladed and whip-like tail cracked around the side of her body where the Siren was, her wings too, beating madly.
The immobile beast was still alive... and she was furious!*

The sound wave blast catapulted the staff out of the wyvern's flesh and landed somewhere on the ground. When shredded tissue and blood flew around, Lucind scolded herself in thoughts. Congrats, Miss Varhetel. You're damn lucky you activated that anti-heat shield before....or else... - she crouched into sidewards roll when the wyvern's tail whipped the ground where she'd just stood - ...you'd had a bigger problem than blood stains and slimey dragon remnants on your nice coat...Where the blood was splashed onto the woman's skin and her cloth, a soft sizzling could be heard and thin wisps of steam rose - just like water dribbling onto a hot surface - which vanished shortly after the contact. Okay. So the wyvern couldn't walk anymore - but Lucind wished her attack would've been lethal as it was planned to be. Now the beast had to suffer some longer. Hahh...what now?She could either try to place a final stroke with her two short blades, or... Thinking about the second option, the Half-Siren retreated until the raving beast had no chance to hit her with tail, wings or head. Her first attempt using a melody on the female beast had been interrupted, so Lucind didn't know how useful such an attack was. Still, it was the better way to end the wyvern's torment in a matter of seconds without facing the risk of being injured herself. Once again, Lucind quietly sang some tune and let her eyes drift halways shut as if relaxing. And indeed, she listened to her inner voices, summoning her ancestor's power. Her ears flickered a little. She then raised her head a little and gazed at the beast, her singing became louder and suddenly changed its character and intention: Lucind was going to use a combination of two types of Siren melodies to kill the wyvern. About Sirens brou wa = mood melodies; transfer a certain mood onto the listener: fear (ulh brou wah), joy (gae brou wah), bliss (enhen brou wah), fury (ta'ar brou wah), love (liev brou wah) ... She used an aggressive form of this melody to rush into the wyvern's mental area by force and replace the berserk mode with tranquillity. After a few seconds other themes wove themselves among the first. About Sirens luod'eh brid wa = "Loose soul"; victim falls into a waking-coma, resembling a puppet; the connection between soul, mind and body is also undermined Lucind knew it should be enough to make the deadly wounded beast give in into the process of dying, which would be nothing else but a release, for only the injuries from crashing onto earth would have most likely killed it in maybe half an hour. After all, this was her 'job', to protect all kind of minds - or to help them find a 'nice' death and guide the soul out of the body.

And once again, the damage potential of the explosion was only half that of what it should have been, due to the chilling fire shield which acted against heat and fire as well as a little of the physical. As the explosion erupted against the moster's back, it's legs buckled against the crushing force of the explosion which caused it's body to slam into the side of the building as smaller pieces of bone which formed a shell on its back, woven together, would fall to the ground below. However, after the explosion, now knowing where the man was, it would push off the wall, legs springing outwards as it flew backwards beneath the man. At that moment, before its body would tilt to righten itself so that it would land on its many legs, elecricity would crackle once more around its form. Though it only lasted a moment, probably faster than the mind would be about to register what was happening, though the eyes were still sending information, it would be noticed by a close observer that the electricity gathered and jumped from one vertabrae to the next, starting from the tail up to the head before it's mouth would open and 'spit' a flashing bolt of lightning at the airborn Vahn. Quote: 3rd Level - Lightning Bolt Upon casting this spell, the wizard releases a powerful stroke of electrical energy to each creature within its area of effect. The lightning bolt may set fire to combustibles, sunder wooden doors, splinter up to a half-foot thickness of stone, and melt metals with a low melting point (lead, gold, copper, silver, bronze). If the damage caused to an interposing barrier shatters or breaks through it, the bolt continues. A bolt can breach a maximum of 1 foot of wood or half a foot of stone. After such an attack, with the air smelling of ozone, it would land on its legs and move back a bit so that it may tilt its flat skull upwards and peer into the air where the man was.

*The wyvern's anger and fear had posessed her and the beast thrashed... The siren had been lucky to dodge the whip-like appendage, for the beast began to roll and paw at the air, lashing out with razored fore-talons as it's pain infuriated it further... Had she been struck, she likely would have also been promptly crushed by the hulking body.
The wounds that the staff and sound blast had inflicted however... now worked against the siren. While it had felled the beast partially... it had caused significant damage to the side of the beast's face as it had been turned... The one ear drum had been ruptured and the ear itself practically blown away. The other ear was full of blood, the creature's dying pulse thudding in it's head...
It could hardly make out the woman's melodies... She would have to come in close... and place herself in range of the thrashing wyvern's limbs. What would she do?
Before she could make up her mind though... The fallen female let open her maw and loosed a fiery blast of noxious flames in the irritating sound's direction...
While wyvern flames are not as intense as a full fledged dragon's... they still burn hotter than natural fire... whether or not the woman's heat shields were strong enough to protect her entirely, remained to be seen... The second problem was, the toxic agent that mingled with the fire. A poison that would cause any who breathed it in nausea, disorientation and migraines... If it was inhaled for too long it was ultimately fatal... *
