We do have a Muggle Studies class at the moment, but not an Alchemy class.

Though we tend to stick to the typical classes from the books, that's not a rule. You could probably teach a French class if you wanted to. (Don't hold me to that though.) I don't see any reason why we couldn't have an Alchemy class, unless it's too similar to potions.

The rules in the Halls allow people to create their own ideas about classes. I've liked the idea of French in the past, but I could be bias lol

I wouldn't really approve Alchemy because as Lyra said, it's pretty close to Potions and I would encourage that person to teach Potions.

Thanks, I like the set up too

Ok, that's what I thought. I wasn't quite 100% sure though, and didn't want to say something that turned out to not be true.

so just curious when is the grad form going to be completed its still under construction and has been for quite a while is there even any thing happening with that forum?

We are working on it. It's very hard to create all of these events and keep the guild current while still having time for a life on and off Gaia but, we are working on it. In fact the Mods are in talks now of how we can make things run smoother around here.

hey i have an idea but im not sure how it will work since we are already a guild of very close friends and i know some of you play zomg should we have a way of getting guild members to rp/kill things in zomg/towns?
also when was the last time we got the school together in towns to have a event/rp? just thought i would throw that out ther
and im glad to hear that the mods havent made the thread and then for gotten about it i refuse to grad till i have a almost certain activity i can do to help my fellow slytherins preferably in the grad forum somewhere thats one reason several of our members have disappeared (or at least i think thats a good reason)

I'm staying a student too until the grads subforum is completed.

It is indeed still underway and hasn't been forgotten. Not that long ago (after it had sat there for a couple months) I compiled all of the rules we had come up with and posted them in the Town Hall thread. It's mostly down to finishing touches now and I still need to come up with a description for the Ravenclaw residential area. Got a HUGE mental block on that one.

@Lyra: Which I promised I would help with and haven't forgotten. Look in the Chamber tonight or tomorrow if you can (my time).

@James: There is actually another guild that already does that with the town and zOMG! I think right now, we need to finish the things we have started before we start doing anything else. Plus, we wouldn't want to copy tat other guild, so we would have to come up with a twist if we ever decided to go that route.
I don't think we ever did that. If we did, it was at least over a year ago.
I promise, we are working on it as best we can, as fast as we can. If you'd like to help, your more then welcome to put your two cents in.

@Everyone: So, we already have the basic idea for the Christmas event but we need ideas. What are some of your ideas?

whee I have an idea to discuss with a head of house (crew) or higher it would be a secret I just need to talk t over get permission and then I would be willing to take charge of it. If allowed to...

i know that classes and everything are supposed to be fun, but i dont take very many if any because i don't like all that work, i mean i am almost a 9th grader and i take the best classes possible so i already have a heavy work load, so what i am asking basically is if teachers for this term could possibly cut down the work load or make it easier and just more? i also understand it depends on the teacher but if you guys could possibly set up a basic amount of work load rule you cant go over, that would be great. smile

Hey Teal!

We don't make classes mandatory for anyone; however, they're a great way to earn housepoints!

Because we don't make the classes mandatory, and each person can choose how many classes they'd like to take, we're not going to make any other restrictions on teachers. We already have restrictions on the minimum number of lessons and house points they can grant.

Another alternative would be to apply to be a teacher! Next term we'll be having our first ever Teacher of the Term contest so if you do apply and students commend you a lot on the amount of work you gave, maybe other teachers would follow.
