((Joe, you carried Siber's arm to Siber... from Siber. Renard already had brought it to him.))
Helmsborough met each of Joe's strikes with the chains on his arm.
--
You're running?! the Titan's Fists demanded incredulously.
--
The dragon roared and twisted, trying to crush the attached skeleton against the ground. They dodged off of it as it rolled over Vlad's bones again. Dammit. It twisted back onto its feet and blasted fire to keep them at bay.

((Oh. Jeez. My bad. I'm not quite sure how I could have missed that. Ignore it, I suppose.))
We're not running, Joe thought back. My friend is in here and he doesn't know what he's doing, magically. I need to make sure he's OK. He looked frantically around and shouted again.

"Joe?" Jacob called back. He jogged up to Joe.
((Why, no, I don't intend to wait for him! biggrin ))

((Oh good, I was thinking I would have to do it.))
Joe sighed. "Oh good. C'mon, we gotta get out before this building collapses." He laughed. "Just like that time in Jamaica. Remember?" Joe tried to keep Jacob distracted with stories from their past as he led him outside. Once out the door, Joe held up a hand. "Just stay out of danger as best you can," he said as he flashed at Helmsborough once more. This time, instead of simply striking, Joe let off a blinding flash, hoping it would limit the chains' ability. Then he struck. These Titan's Fists must be wearing Helmsborough down, right?

Helmsborough tracked Joe with his third eye and blocked with his chain-wrapped arm again, striking back by slamming the meathook through his left wrist into Joe's arm.

((So... Siber's arm was encased in another arm. But that was not addressed. We will see what happens from here.))
Siber felt the pain as a dull throb through his arm before the blood began to spray from the site of the separation. The throb continued and amplified with each beat of his heart until it was a white, indescribably pain. He ground his teeth and made an animal noise of anguish, saving the scream for his psyche. Centauri! No! I'm sorry! Don't be sorry yet, you idiot! He ignored the book; get it! Centauri altered his operation of Siber's body immediately to deal with the severed limb and balanced the throw from Helmsborough into a controlled roll, flipping up into an graceful stance. Luckily, Helmsborough's attention had again been drawn away, so Renard had time to reattach Siber's arm. Not Centauri's. The "ghost arm" effect had been very interesting to experience, though. "Thank you," he grumbled sincerely through clenched teeth as the various tissues knit back together in a strange and painful way. From there, he sped towards Centauri's hollow shell and fit it back around his arm, bits of the wings breaking off to form an effective seal until something more permanent could happen. He then picked the book back up and let the avatar's attention remain drawn from him so that he could discuss the book with Samuel. "If you promise to find this spell for me in this book and tell me how to say it, assuming you or Gurul can, I'll let you keep the book and you promise not to use it on me until we're no longer bound into this alliance by our respective sides." Samuel looked at him askance. "What spell?" They discussed it briefly, and Samuel began flipping through the pages. Moments later, Samuel was flipping hurriedly through the book, trying to find the right spell in a book to which he had only recently been introduced. Siber moved away from him for optimal viewing position. Centauri, I... Don't dwell on it - you couldn't have seen him coming that quickly with no prior evidence. This won't take too long to reattach, anyway. Still. But I see your point. As long as Helmsborough was engaged with Joe, the dragon was still at large and wreaking havoc. Therefore, Siber hurtled towards it, releasing a shower of bladed spines and substantiating his sword to aim an upward slash at the creature's neck. It wasn't that he had noticed this particular trend - it was more that... who the heck stabs something in the neck? It's just not something that's very aesthetically pleasing.

((Renard reattached the arm, but... yeah.))
<What?!>
"Here goes nothing," he muttered. He began the chant. Joe was closing with Helmsborough for another strike and they both got cut off from their patrons. Joe's fire deactivated and he skidded past Helmsborough, unable to control his speed. Helmsborough's sword emerged from his torso and he grabbed it, looking at Samuel.
"Oh, you little b***h," he snarled, running at him with his sword out.
Cover him! We need you to get the picture back and destroy it while we still can block them, the Dreamshell advised. Unfortunately, we can't block them from this Tier selectively, or even just isolate this Pillar.

The dragon drew its head back and swiped at Siber with a claw. The spines bounced off.

Joe pulled himself up and reached back, drawing his gun. It was awkward, so he hastily shook off the Titan's Fist on his right hand. They voiced no objection. He took steady aim and fired off three shots at Helmsborough's back as he ran.

Fyrin's men began to evade again, tossing ice to meet the flames wherever they couldn't accomplish what they needed to. Again and again they leapt in and out, every time slashing wildly at any part of the dragon they could reach.
Paul, meanwhile, noticed that the book was important. He didn't understand why; he hadn't been listening to that particular conversation. He just knew that Helmsborough shouldn't have it. Again he started shooting, this time finishing the job of emptying the Athena's magazine.
Fyrin's hand, meanwhile, reaching the dragon, craftily boarded its back, and began very, very lightly making its way up the thing's spine. It was headed for the skull, obviously intending to sever the nervous system somewhere along the line. That was, presuming anyone noticed it.

The dragon flinched as the hand boarded it and rolled forward, smashing one of the skeletons and the hand into the dirt.
Helmsborough blocked the bullets with his sword again. His movements were bit slower but he still blocked them easily.

The hand, just before being badly crushed, started slicing up dirt and adding it to its rock formation before expelling it to the side. The end result was that there was a depression, slightly deeper than the hand, right as the dragon's full weight landed, thus preserving it. James was not so lucky, but as the dragon came around, he pushed up to meet it and cut a long gash before being crushed.
Steven, meanwhile, took note of the fact that now the dragon's belly was exposed. Surely a stomach was the worst part one could possibly assault, but if he stayed low enough, he might be able to get in a couple cuts before being struck or lit on fire. He got a slight running start, jumped as high as he could, kicked up a few times, and managed to slash once with his knife, the arc going overhead and coming in to him. If it seated, this would mean he would slide down the dragon's side, propelling the knife with the weight of his equipment.
Paul swapped magazines very quickly. Helmsborough wasn't going to go down easily, that was obviously, and Joe had him covered. But the dragon was too tough for him to hurt with what he had on hand. Again swapping magazines, he didn't fire any more rounds until he had thought of something... and his thought came quickly. "JOE!" he roared. "Arrest his movement!" Another thought flickered at the back of his head - something that started with a "D" - but it didn't solidify itself, so Paul didn't worry about it. Siber easily dodged out of the way of the incoming claw, but having no good openings at the moment and hearing the DreamShell, he reversed direction and got in the air. He drew the phase knife, part of Centauri briefly fading out so he could, and then held it behind him. Some of the limbs on his back wrapped around it and formed a staff, which he snapped off and held at the ready, flying towards Helmsborough. Behind the helmet, he grinned maliciously. He hadn't yet gotten to wield his weapon of choice. This would be an excellent opportunity. He spun the staff once while he moved to familiarize his muscles with the weight, then intercepted Helmsborough's path and slashed out at him with the pointy end before coming to a halt for a head-on fight.

((Woohoo, finally some time to post!))
Jacob stayed out of Joe's way as they ran, he had no idea what was going on and he didn't intend to find out the hard way, "Damn! Where are going?" he asked.

"Just stay back!" Joe said before putting the fallen gauntlet back on. Hearing Paul's words, Joe shrugged and ran as fast as he could after Helmsborough, punching at his shield with the Titan's Fist from behind. Even if he didn't break the shield, that had to throw him off balance.
