Streamjumper 3.14 Streamjumper So, who here has xbox live gold and wants an invite to the last week of the beta? Everyone already in the beta gets one invite, and can earn up to 4 more. I think I have 20 or more hours logged, so there's one... and I think one of the dlc things I grabbed for an earlier GOW qualifies me for a second one. So I think I might have 2 or 3 coming to me. Pi, do you and Randy want one of em? Sure! Cool. They should be sending em out on the 4th or so, and access should be granted from the 8th til the 14th. PM me your email address, since I think I need to redeem the token and give them your email so they can send you the code themselves. mmschultz04@gmail.com

As soon as I get my tokens I'll shoot one your way. Also: Zelly, Amazon hears your pain AND WANTS TO HELP. 50$ credit AND a 1600 point card with each system purchase? That's like a 70$ discount, which can be seen as either getting a 250g Slim package for $230 or shelling out $299 for the system and getting almost a whole retail game plus another two XBLA games. This is a pretty sweet deal overall. In other news, less than a week now til Brink comes out, reducing Kin and I to gibbering husks. I believe Suyo and Zero are scooping this bad boy up as well. Is anyone else jumping on this beast too? So far I'm leaning towards maining the Medic class and Kin is staring lustily at the Operative skill list. I don't think Zero or Suyo have any predispositions that they've mentioned and a full AG team presence would be delightful, either in numbers or even just in filling out the basic four man job list so we can work on all objective types without constantly switching our roles at the base.

Ok, I know I'm real slow at this...but I finally got to drop by Gamestop yesterday to check out some Xbox headsets. Any advice? There was also one bundled with a chat pad...would that be a good idea?
I'm waiting on Fable III in the mail. Got it free for signing up for Gold X)

I'm waiting on Fable III in the mail. Got it free for signing up for Gold X) We have the chatpad, but we don't really use it. It's nice when you are writing out a long message though. I like using the generic xbox headset. I have no issues. Also, Happy Star Wars Day! MAY THE FOURTH BE WITH YOU LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL.

I'm waiting on Fable III in the mail. Got it free for signing up for Gold X) The one with the chat pad is, as I understand, more or less just a touch different than the one that comes with systems these days. I use the official Microsoft wireless one that clips to your ear and I've had no real problems with it at all. Kin just got one and I believe he'll back me up in vouching for it. The battery time is enough to last a decent session of chat or co-op and the sound quality is pretty decent. I think they're selling it for 40 bucks these days. I might eventually scoop up a mid-range Turtle Beach headset (I hear a lot of good things about the brand overall) for use in serious Bad Company 2 play so I can better hear people sneakin' up on me, but that's a ways off. Oh, given the issues with SR2 DLC being needed to play with anyone with the DLC (pretty much all of us with SR2 at this point), snagging Borderlands is also a good choice for games to scoop up with that card. Quite a few of us have it and would happily play with you when other things aren't eating our time. Base version is $20 and GOTY (with all 4 dlc) is $40... for quite a bit of quality gaming time, especially with buddies). Dead Rising 2 is another good 2 player co-op jam. If you don't mind team-based shooters and want a new game, several of us are scooping up Brink next week (as per current trend, Kmart and Amazon might have it for 40 within two weeks or so) and Hunted: Devil's Forge hits at the end of this month. Also, XBLA has a 4 player multiplayer D&D dungeon crawl game titles Daggerdale coming out in two weeks. For anyone interested in Brink, here's the latest Get SMART trailer, talking about each class' roles, individual abilities, and the types of missions they can take.

I was checking out Brink this morning before work since you mentioned it. To be completely honest, I suck pretty hard at first person shooters. I may need some more practice but my reaction time isn't what I want it to be. That and my aim gets all wacky and then I panic because people are shooting and I'm trying to turn and see....I just fail.
I was thinking of using the card to get some games to play with you guys then look into a nicer head set...one that has surround sound and such so I can also play games loud to hear without pissing off everyone in the house. I don't do well when I can't hear. I just need money. And the summer is coming up which leaves me with very few hours and I've gotta keep up with bills. And car registration. Boo.

Anyone up for celebrating Cinco de Mayo with vidya tonight? I'm thinking of putting back a few beers and playing RDR with anyone interested in joining in. We can all change our characters to banditos, hopping on donkeys, and engaging in the usual carnage.
