Guys guys guys.
Remember how I said I lost my job because of financial aid? And my supervisor was unhappy? And I offered to volunteer?
She e-mailed me today to offer a paid research assistant position crying $14/hour.

Huge compliment too. Student workers are put in because they demonstrate financial need. Research assistants are chosen because they're specifically wanted.

I think I might still though, then go mail tomorrow.

I still haven't mailed mine yet, so people might need to expect them after Christmas. XD

Winter Break time woo.

It's weird to think that this is the last Winter Break I'm ever going to get. Just one more semester of Law School, then two months of being buried in books, then the Bar, then the much dreaded "real world." Said real world has no jobs. T___T

So I'm down in SoCal for the next week or so, doing informational interviews/making contacts at all the DA offices down here. Since I'll be applying to all the offices in California, I figured I should get out and try to meet some people at these offices while I've got the time off. So I expect to get a lot of the same depressing advice from all the offices. Bad economy, state has no money, try to get some trials in the internship, expect to have to volunteer for a while before actually getting hired, etc. Still looking like it's going to be a fun trip from my first day of it (which mainly consisted just of driving down to Bakersfield and getting ready for the first one tomorrow).

My cards are all out! I sent out most yesterday, and just mailed the rest off to Canada. In addition to a stamp, it cost $.31 per card.

Congrats, Rae! Money is great and being personally selected (and honored) is awesome!
