The Commander continued to lead Kairin down to The Portal Room. A sweetly innocent smile came across her face as soon as the reached the portal door. Opening the steel mass, she let Kairn walk through before replying.

"Funny you should ask. See we suddenly got this urgent Message! And Oh deary Me it is needed to be completed ever so quickly! Don't worry about Urkal! You'll be back in time fot that, maybe even with enoughtime for tea....Now I need you to take this."

She reached out, gnabbing a.....wooden Baseball bat from the supply pick up sill and placed it in Kairin's hands right when they stopped in front of one Portal Hole.

"C-Commander Rindell...What is this for?" Kairin stuttered her reply out, this situation was really beggining to look...Fishy. Here she stood, with a large wooden bat, infront of a peuliar portal with the Commander smiling in the fakest way possible at her. "What Type of Mission am I going on? Beat the Baby Seal over the Head before the time limit runs out?"

"Oh no! You have to save this realm from a burning mass fo destruction by hitting the massive oncoming commet away! By the way you only have exactly 42 seconds till impact, Good luck!"

Just as she finished her sentence, Ryanna happily shoved dear Kairin back into the Doomed world Portal. An innocent wave would probably be the last thing she saw before she would hit the piping hot ground of this realm...

ooc: xD Such as FLCL Rip off

Kairin stared shocked at the Commander, she didn't even have time to start a cursing rant about it before she was shoved back into the realm. This sucks! As soon as her feet touched the ground, the icky smell of charred flesh and melting rubber reeked into her senses. Great they dumped her atop a graveyard hilltop...and now her shoes were being melted into the ground below....and- "Holy s**t!"

The Girl stumbled back, clutching the wooden bat as hard as she could. Well There was the commet, It was a massive burning ball of death! "Oh my."

Seeing as how Kairin was now out of sight, Ryanna folded her hands behind her back, turning away from the portal. She began to hum a plesant tune, with a happy up-beat. It was a highly optimistic sounding piece.

"Ah...That just made my week."

And with that she began to walk away the sweet smile still plastered on her face.

Rai, after done eating, let his hawk rest on his shoulder. Sam stared ahead.. a blank stare. Rai exited the Mess hall. Sam suddenly flew off his shoulder, and flew. The hawk made a huge screechy caw as it stared dead at Ryanna. Rai twitched, and whistled for Sam to come back. She just kept flying, then started circling her. Rai twitched again, and cursed under his breath. "SAM! Stop this!"

Eva joined them on the deck, happily passing by the angry pirates without a backwards glance. She really had done a good job of blending in with them.
"Welcome, my entrance-prone friends, to the Archduke, the most ironically named pirate ship I've ever had the pleasure of guarding. for the next three days, we will guard her highly valuable cargo of metal ores, notable for their potency in weaponmaking and shipbuilding. We are currently in the lovely country of Loreanis, political enemy of Gilead. Gilead being the country in which the ores were stolen. Loreanis, however, is not a place you'd bring your goods to have them turn into money. For that, we need to get to Driefshere. To do so, we must briefly pass through Gilead, seeing as the Archduke can't carry enough fuel to skirt the border entirely and still complete the voyage. The crew is also somewhat shorthanded, due to the effort of stealing said ores. That's where we come in."

She heard footsteps behind her, and turned to discover thair source. The captain, a craggy, bronzed man was approaching. At his side was a strapping but thin young man with a rough stubble who fidgeted constantly with the pendant hanging around his neck. She recognized him as the first mate.
"Suntzu," said the captain in a high, clear voice. "I was under the impression that you only had one more member of your squad."
"We've made some last minute alterations to our lineup, sir, due to reasons of competence. We need men who know what they're doing."
"Men?" asked the first mate incredulously. His voice was reedy but tonal. "You say men, but you've brought us a child and a mon-"
He was abruptly cut off by Eva's hand clamping over his mouth and lower jaw.
"He's a librarian at Mishaps, mate," she said with the air of explaining addition to a kindergartener, "which is the most dangerous and well qualified job of which I can think. He also happens to be an Orangutan. Or-ang-u-tan. This is purely incedental. Do not mention the M word. Do not call him an animal. You won't have to answer to me if you do. You'll have to answer to him." She gestured at the librarian, who was holding his machine gun and inspecting it, oblivious to its immense weight. The first mate swallowed, and nodded once. Eva let go of his face, and backed away.

"Alright! Katsu, Tech, Librarian, and captain, if you would be so kind, I believe it's time to talk strategy." The captain nodded his assent, and led the ragtag group into his quarters. After a moment's hesitation, the first mate tagged along.

"Alright," said Eva, her trademark grin creeping over her face. "We shouldn't expect any trouble until we cross the Gilead-Loreanis border tomorrow morning. At that time, we will commence a full day of possible attacks. During those twenty-four to twenty-six hours, we can expect multiple attacks from the Gilead royal navy." she was met by a look of surprise from the Captain. "As our dear captain has noticed, this means spending more time in Gilead than was originally planned. However, it will also involve crossing the border in a less obvious location. I suggest that just before we cross the border, we deploy one of the skiffs and man it with two Mishap agents. The skiff will lag behind the boat. When the Archduke is attacked, she'll send up a signal flare, calling the skiff crew to action. They will carry a cannon or other large weapon with them, and mount a surprise attack on the offending vessel. This will probably be a scout vessel, so it is vital that we blast them out of the sky before they can send their coordinates back to the fleet. This should buy us time to get closer to our destination. Any questions so far?"

"What happens when they do get the coordinates to the main vessel before we destroy them and they come after us? This is a navy isn't it? Will we have enough power to defeat them?" Azora asked, feeling a little uneasy asking ANYTHING, she always was. Unless of course it concerned her disability.

"YES, captain..... Just how are you dealing with the dangers? I mean, if I would attack a ship, and I see some smaller ship a good bit after the first one, I would simply take that. Now, on the other hand.....
Let us just declare what the heck we want. Do we want their ship? I just mean that it would look a bit cool if the ship of the attackers would be pulling the originally "conquered" archduke, and we would fake elctronical messanges of the ships capture. For that, I would suggest we play a little ghostship, I construct a bit of electrical steering equipment so we do not have to be on deck, if they have highpowervoltage in there, we all stay underground, they come, see us, probably board us, and this is where we board them. As first time tactics, I would suggest anti personell fragmentation mines, piercing everything on board as the first wave.
or, do we just want them to slow down, so we can outrun them? In that case, I would suggest the captain of the ship does a driveby, The Librariabn shoots the harpuna and does a flyby stunt with one of the parachutes, following them if they have any speed, just like in XXX, while clearing the upper decks of all resistance with his gatling. Meanwhile, a dedicated member of our team does enter the upper decks, places some explosives under their main source of motion, like under their sailing-trees or masts or whatever the places are called, rigs it up with some detonation device, grabs the main harpuna line, cuts it and is basically offboard. Then, the librarian shoots the second harpuna, hits the archduke, and the attacker and the Librarian are aboard.
Or, we want to destroy the ship, in which case I would suggest Molotov cocktails, and other burnables to be shot onto the other ship, because I doubt that the other ship will of course have sufficient fire extinguishers. Now, in case they have, I suggest a mixture of napalm and thermite, approximately 70 to 30, which will be unextinguishable if they do not posess enough co2-fire extinguishers. OOh, and I would need some short time on the black market for the best results. The basic ingredients and the reccepies have been published like ages ago in the Anarchists cookbook, so I know i can do it.
OOh, and if they employ communication, I am able to jamm their radio-channels, for exactly one hour, then the battery time is over.
These are my basic three ideas, which all rely on what I have seen with these ships. Of course, if you could explain to me how these ships function, it would be very much better results. And, I need to know what sourxes of electricity we have on the ship....OOh, and if you could tell if we have to face multiple ships, that would be nice. Perhaps the mate can help?"
Brian leaned back, and lit his cigarette.
"ARRRRGH, what a nice time to loot and plunder, I guess. "
His bathrobe hung loosely around his bodey, and he grinned like a madman.
"Now, I guess the tactics are also dependant on what you think, and what the captain of the ship likes, so I think as usuall, it is not up to me what we do. I am just providing backup plans here. "

The Librarian had pulled a banana out of their duffle bag, and was peeling it with his feet. This was getting better and better, he thought. He was allowed to destroy things. He was allowed to burn things. And most likely, he was allowed to unscrew a guys head, and throw it towards the mate, only to point at him and make some obvious gestures. he grinned, and then looked around. Not that he would give his parachute away for any of these figures, but where was that little girl?
"Ugh?", he said in an asking manner, and gave a passable impression of the little girl. Then, he placed his hand above his eyes, and looked around, while he continued to eat his banana.

As Tech was speaking, the ship cast off."We're not looking to board the ship," said Eva "The Gilead navy uses battleships a full deck higher than the Archduke. We simply don't have enough manpower to keep a vessel that size airborne. You see, these ships are dependant on their masts to keep them 'afloat', that is airborne. The engines are for thrust. The sails are pretty incredible, they covert solar and wind energy into electrical power. The converters and turbines are located in the masts, so everyting is ready to run by the time it hits the engine room. The energy collection is remarkable efficient, though not enough to float the ship on its own. I'm not quite sure as to its composition, but they use a special fuel that reacts very well with a strong electric charge, giving the hull-jets enough power to float the ship. It's this fuel we don't have too much of, and that's why we can't afford to piss around with fancy boarding tricks. If we're attacked, we need to strike the final blow immediateley. That's why we need the skiff: to take out the rear engines and hull-jets. That will be tantamount to stealing the wind away from a proper sailboat. Hopefully, she'll start listing to the stern as well.

As far as the dangers of taking out such a small vessel agains such a large one, I'd like to direct your attention towards the window." Outside, the sun was climbing in a sky spotted with clouds. A fair number of these were orange. "The orange clouds are dense, large, and highly toxic. It would be madness to steer even a large ship through them. Fortunately for us, I have seen fit to sell my old set of clothing and, using those funds, purchace three contraband gasmasks from an extremely unsavory individual back in the port. I swear, her had these bizzare piercing spikes out to here- anyway, that's beside the point. I also have the goggles that you made for me, so visibility is not an option. I believe that the goggles will also enable me to communicate with you without the use of radio signals, as I'm sure they have a more direct link to that magic laptop you carry around. All this will enable a swift and efficient stroke that will render the enemy useless and very easy to defeat. If it works well enough, we can do it more than once.

Now, about the fire idea. As I'm sure you're well aware, fire aboard any vessel is risky. Since these boats are made mostly of wood, that goes double. I still want you to prepare whatever burnable weapons you can, but don't complete them until later tonight and keep them well away from the engine room or open flames. Just be careful, I don't want our trump card coming around to bite us in the a**. Captain, anything?"

The old man shook his head. The first mate raised a finger inquisitively before opening his mouth to speak, fumbling with his pendant as her did. Close up, it proved to be a ring, probably fairly valuable. "The Gilead navy...I think the Gilead navy will be moving in groups of two. They really want these ores back."

Eva looked at him with a strange glint in her eye for a split second before responding. "The skiff strategy still stands, then, but the librarian's aerial strike becomes more important. The skiff will be able to attack one ship form below, while the librarian attacks the other from above. Radio jamming is more important now as well."

Azora listened, she could barely keep up, barely. She knew she should be able to understand but sometimes Tech and Eva just blabber it she starts to get confused. 'Oh man my brain hurts so much...'

The librarian saw the little girl, and grinned. It was allways getting pretty annoying if someone discussed tactics, as the Librarian beliefed in the concept of figuring it out on the way. He reatched over, p0atted the little girl on the head, and moved a banana to her.
"UGH!, " he said, "ugh uuuugh uggh. EEk...!"
he pattet her head again, and leaned back, to listen to what the madman and the iceprincess were planning. after all, it was his arse that was in danger, so he would really like to know what was going on there.

Brian grinned, and leaned back.
"Well, yes, captain, but as I designed them for you, I did not include airborne combat.... So, basically what we do is we are on a fallback position behind the ships. You engage, virtally in flyby combat, and I am sure I do not want the vessle to fly by between you and the navy. So, I would suggest a high altitude, in which case we could also act as some sort of outpost to look for them. Then, as far as maneuverability, I would suggest as a best case scenario that we have the three ships in one big ponytail. then, flyby would not be that difficult. If they understand anything of sea maneuverability, they would go vor a variation of the duck, where they take the archduke in the middle, and use their onesided cannons with as much firepower as possible. In that case, i would suggest drop-gliding, flying on the outside of ship one, doing what we have to do, make a 180 turn in a nice bow and attack the second ship. Of course, the situation would greatly differ if other flyers would be nearby, for example, if the ships were carriers of smaller aircrafts.
Now,as a solution for the sails, in the first place, if we have a high preassure firing operant, or some kind of overpowered garden hoose, we can use thickened quickdrying paint. Of course, it would be more fun to simply use paintball guns, but what the heck. Paint, as far as I have understood the tech, would basically hinder their energy input, thus slowing them down.
In second place, if I have like 50 minutes, and a few good carriers, I can make c**-boom, basically sticky fluid explosive, that we could use to coat their masts and sails, and simply fire two taser needles in them, igniting the whole lot and thus simply hindering their upfloat. Then, they would have to sink with us, while we outrun them.
The engines. Well, basically, I would have offered to fire a few pieces of iron in there, in the hopes that it would block any propellants, but I gess that is now obsolete.
So, i would certainly bet that the things are not resistant to a kilo plastic explosive, which is basically what looks like a baseball, including an optical detonator. And i happen to know a rather hairy gent who has a mean throw.
Now, in my opinion, as the best case scenario, when these things have no apparently gpood enough weapon systems that point up or downwards, we would have large dead angles. Downwards, it would basically mean that we have fre access to their bellies, where we could then plant as much C2 or c12 as we want, or cut them open. Upwards, my best guess would be to reinforce the armoured chassis, and simply sail right through their sails, while we toss as many grenades aboard as we can throw.

by the way, captain and captain, for the cheap alternative to fire from above, I would say molotov cocktail on the ships, perhaps with a few crude slingshots to deliver the blow. bood thing I toom my mobile chemistry kit with me, so I can basically manufacture any crude explosive, flammables and such.

OOh, and with a bit of information on what I have at my disposal, I can make these navys wish they had never been airborne. basically, ship or skiff or dingi or however it is called, expected weaponry from the enemy, and materials at my disposal. Perhaps the mate can help?

Now, that is only one battle plan, and i am sure with a bit more time and a bit more material, I could come up with something better. "
He grinned, leaned back, and lit one of his lucky cigars. it was very pleasant that noone had taken any notice that he still had found no time to change from his outfit of bathing robe, boxershorts and sunglasses....
He moved his arms behind his back, and started to think. While he eyed the first mate very closely.
