Kinetic Dream ... whee We LIVE wirelessly now whee Just in time to go shopping and head to work. Requesting dinner/breakfast ideas to christen my new abode tonight. Drinks also work, lulz. Backlogging for egg recipes tonight. I'm a little late, maybe too late to be of any use, but... Seeing as how we're dealing with two guys here, dinner could be pretty dude-tastic, with stuff guys really like that don't take much work to make. Grab some smoked (or unsmoked, if you swing that way) turkey legs, a bag of small potatoes (red or gold, your choice), some broccoli (if you like it), bacon, and either meltable cheese or cheese sauce. Start by washing, drying, and halving the potatoes before tossing them in just enough olive oil to thinly coat them. Chuck the taters on a sheet pan and sprinkle the whole with kosher salt to taste an bake the ******** at 400 degrees for about 30-40 minutes. Poking em should tell you about where they are. Boil or steam (preferably the latter) the broccoli and keep em warm til everything else is almost done. When the potatoes come out to cool, drop the oven to 350 and put in the turkey legs in a pan, loosely covered by foil so the oven doesn't directly cook and dry them out. 10-15 minutes will probably be fine if you've left them on the counter to reach room temp a bit, but the package should have more accurate directions. They're already mostly cooked during the smoking process, so you're really looking to get them heated up. Take this chance to heat up the cheese sauce, or throw some cheese directly on the hot broccoli, fry up a few slices of back, and chop them to throw on top. Roast smoked turkey legs, roasted salted taters, and broccoli with cheese and bacon. The only thing that will require a fork is maybe the broccoli, depending on how you put the cheese on the broccoli... perfect guy food on multiple levels. Cheese, fat, meat, and bacon (which is a spice as far as most men should be concerned) requirements will be fulfilled, and the whole thing will go well with a couple of beers and whatever manly activities you have planned. Breakfast could use the rest of the bacon, the rest of the cooked potatoes sliced, spiced, and a little pan fried, and your choice of pancakes or eggs.

In addition, we decided on chicken grilled cheese sandwiches. Failing that, we're just going with chicken burgers, greens, aand then muffins for breakfast portion.
With hot sauce. And various mixed drinks using jäger.
Conclusion, when we get rolling, tonight will be awesome.

Stream, please write a cookbook. Just like that.
I'd've helped you with food ideas, Cupcake, but my cooking might not be manly enough for you XD
In other news, I'm looking for a second job. Canada has a bit of a better economy, which is making it nice. It seems like every place is hiring for seasonal right now and planning on keeping the good employees. I went into my top choice yesterday to follow up an application and some woman was all "Excuse m- oh! You don't work here! You look like you could work here - that's a compliment, by the way!" It was Le Chateau, which is a casual-classy clothing store. D'awww who looks professional and stylish? ; D Also applied to EBGames (the manager was all cute and nerdy and looked flustered >>; ), Sephora, Bath and Body Works, and the public library near Metrotown.
My research assistant position is awesome, but I just need something a bit extra if I want a real savings. I don't want to graduate with less than $10,000 in my savings.

At first I misread Le Chateau as La Senza.
And then I had an EVERYONE IN BRAS moment.

Also, I have always wanted to try deep fried turkey. And if I happen to come across some this season, I am going to eat some.
But don't tell any anybody. My father in law is the only one who knows. Because he is the only one who will really appreciate a vegetarian eating meat. And he will be the one probably making it for me. :3
