I figured you'd like the video undergoing not one, but two song and visual shifts upon the appearance of the best weapon in the entire goddamn game, Kin. And the thing that makes it even more of an epic item is how it really lets you showcase the fashion abominations Chuckie has tossed together. That's another thing I really think Zel in particular will love about the game.
But yeah, Kai coming over for chow, booze, and bawks is fuggin' win all around. And while I think DR's co-op is online only, it is one of those games where you can easily makeshift co-op by passing the controller around. Portal's another good one, since with both the other person can give advice, keep an eye peeled for other stuff, and chip in ideas for how to visit more ruin on your foes.
Show him the Vanquish trailer and demo if he hasn't already seen it... I think he'll get the same shakes many of us have contracted from it.
I'm really enjoying the ******** outta Enslaved. Not only is the platforming more fast paced than exacting, and the combat more about dealing with packs than pure combo memorization, but there are moments when I just have to sit back and bear witness. Level design is top notch, the environment is absolutely beautiful and one of the rarer takes on post-apocalypse (everything was overgrown in the new tropical climate due to global warming raising the temperature and providing more moisture via icecap melting) I've seen yet, and they've really nailed the story behind it all in a disturbingly fresh yet accurate manner. Not only are Trip and Monkey's designs beautiful, but their personalities mirror the naive monk and Handsome Monkey King in ways far more subtle but ultimately more accurate than we usually get to see here in the West. And occasionally there's a line or two that totally fry my mind in its perfection.
I don't think it would necessarily be a purchase for everyone, but snagging it used at 40 or less (or renting) would be a strong recommendation. However, if you're a big fan of the original story you may consider it must-have material. Like I did.

Happy Gaiaversary! So, since I have a long weekend and we haven't hung out recently, how about we attempt some sort of AG bonding this weekend? Maybe pull an AG chat one night and some AG XBAWKSING another night? I dunno about you turkeys, but I could certainly go for some multiplayer Castlevania, Red Dead, or Borderlands (assuming we have 4 or less people)... or some of the other multiplayer stuff I have sitting around. Hell, even if we can't all agree on one thing to play we can still pull some party chat while we each get out own individual game on.
