Si, I like potatoes too... AND CHEEZE!!!
Chrysant: The Defiler and Tenderizer are both great weapons, but near one of the ingredients to make the Tenderizer you can find both the items needed to make the vastly superior Knife Gloves.
Some of the most fun weapons out there for sheer ridiculous carnage are the Exsanguinator (heavy attack, plox), Porta-mower (again, regular is nice, but heavy is where the fun is really at), Tesla Ball, and Holy Arms. Blitzkrieg is pretty hilarious too, but much less bloody.
And some of the higher end combat skills really can't be beat for sheer insanity in the bare-handed category. Hands-Off, Powerbomb, Smash, and even Haymaker are pretty fun for mini-rampages.
And I don't know how many of you played Earth Defense Force 2017 and enjoyed its cheezy gloriosity, but I know I've mentioned that they're making a sequel to this originally 30$ gem (now probably 10$ used and worth every goddamn penny if you can find a copy... 2 player couch co-op, but you can level entire cities one building at a time, have over 100 weapons (even if many are just upgrades of existing ones), and can easily kill thousands of giant alien insects per level if you so choose... But they just released some more screencaps and a newer trailer. Not only did they keep a lot of the cheesiness in when they brought the graphics up a few notches and increased the design quality on enemies (oh, and added 4 player online co-op, ******** YEAR!!!!!), but they apparently added armor options, including a jetpack armor, heavy armor, and deployable shields. http://www.xbox360achievements.org/news/news-6527-Earth-Defense-Force--Insect-Armageddon-Media-Scuttles-In.html
If they can maintain a similar price point to the original ($40 would be pretty nice for something like this) they'll have managed to update the franchise in every way while still apparently keeping everything that made it awesome.
Hell, they even opted to invite Sonyfriends on both the 2 and 3 to the bug-smashing party. This is another awesome choice on their part, as we'll need a lot of giant bug-smashers to keep Earth safe.
