Is it a bad thing that this thread gave me both the warm fuzzies and made me giggle like a madman?

Also, people are making tnt powered railguns that FIRE TNT SHELLS. Goddamn, but I'm building a bunch of these into the castle walls.
gonk

Crap, all he has left to add is multiplayer support? s**t, time to get on it then.

I think he's got a good bit of work to do on that front though... and I believe he has a few other small projects he wants to undertake along the way too. Someone posted a list of stuff he wants to add/tweak mentioned in a podcast, and it was substantial.

I'd still suggest getting it ASAP if just so you can get used to things and develop strategies as stuff is coming out. Besides, this is a metric ******** of fun.

On the building front, I have the seawall, harbor passage gates, one of the seafront towers (the other will mostly be a mirror of it) all four side wall mini-towers, 60% of the side walls (though I'm considering removing a chunk of the western wall to add a small gate to where I'll probably put a small town later) and the foundation for the remaining wall segments in place. All I need to do after those projects are done is level the inner terrain (and fill some of the divits where I blasted to clear terrain, collect resources early on, and entertain myself). Then I can build the central keep (which should be pretty damn easy after the outer walls) and tower. Then I'll use all these buckets of lava to build a nearby mausoleum, maybe build a R&D lab complex out where the terrain is really torn up due to some of my cannon experiments, and look for side projects to mess about with.

In another map I started just because I wanted to mess about with smaller projects rather than massive build plans, I have a bunch of rocky islands scattered about, and I'm running wooden bridges between the taller ones and aiming to put some nice wooden cottages here and there. I've already got my house, three bridges, and a few stone storehouses near surface mines I'll be looking into expanding as I see fit.

With either of these projects, I'm more than happy to consider tossing in a few buildings for people who plan on getting the game in case we decide to use the map for multiplayer. Actually, is anyone besides Dill and I interested in getting this game? I strongly suggest it, as the price is excellent for the insane hours of fun the whole thing is worth. Also, it doesn't require much of a computer to run and Notch constantly adds new stuff while fixing bugs with impressive speed. And if we have somewhere to run it, we can do a guild multiplayer server with a village built for maximum gruip fun.

I know that Psy and I used to play when /v/ was still flipping s**t about VIRAL MARKETING VIRAL MARKETING, but if we're starting up a multiplayer thing, then you and I are definitely building cities and hiding from creepers in the night for sure.

Also, I has a job interview at gamestop in the mall. Also put down 20 bucks on a pre-order of Etrian Odyssey III so I can get the art book when it ships. So much want.

Comic-Con was awesome! Saw some really interesting panels (Red vs. Blue, Marvel video games, Chuck, Castle, Futurama, etc) and had a great time wandering the dealer's hall. If there is such a thing as a dealer's hall that is too big, this was it. XD It made the one at AX look tiny, if for no other reason than I could see from one end of the AX Dealer's hall to the other [/only slight exaggeration]. The lines weren't terribly fun sometimes, especially since I wasn't able to get into a few panels I wanted to go to because the lines were just too long. I wanted to go to Rifftrax and the Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (I missed the announcement of Amaterasu in MvC 3. I was so annoyed. gonk ) but just couldn't get into them.

Also, my weird luck for winning random prizes continues to hold up. I signed up while waiting to play Marvel vs. Capcom 3 for something they were doing and won a ticket to the Capcom party they were having that night. XD It was mostly just a bunch of MvC 3 machines set up out on a balcony-area of a hotel. Got a poster and signature from the lead guy behind MvC 3, got two sketches from artists who were there (one of whom works for Marvel, the other did the portraits for Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix Etc.) which are now hanging on the wall. They also had Outkast there to play, but since I don't like rap, I was doing my best not to listen. Fun time, though, and I enjoyed chatting with people and seeing what something like that was like. XD

Anyways, swag list:
Some posters from various artists, which I might try getting pictures of in the next few days.
TPBs of Age of Apocalypse that I was missing (which were 50% off)
Some random TPBs of Invincible (comic series I've been really enjoying and meaning to go out and buy. Also 50% off)
Empowered volumes 1-4 (again, another series I enjoy. Much more than I thought I would. It looked from the covers mostly like just fanservice-y stuff, but I read a friend's copy and the character development and story are actually really good! Got a signature from the author/artist too)
Girl Genius volumes 3 and 4, both signed.
Illuminati (card game I've been looking into for a while. Got that as a birthday gift from someone who said to just pick something out at the con. XD)
Red vs. Blue Reconstruction and Recreation DVDs (also birthday gifts)
RvB t-shirts:

So yeah, lots of stuff to read now. Anyone thinking of going to Comic-Con, I'd really recommend it, but be prepared for some serious line-waiting. Or come with a friend with mobility difficulty so they, and you, can get in early. Or come with a friend, then give them a mobility disability.

I lol'd a bit inside when I found out that Amaterasu was in MvC3. Then saw some gameplay of it and... It was funky.

I can help if you're having trouble with this proceedure. surprised

Man, working a little farther on the fortress, I'm getting all kinds of crazy ideas for buildings. There's certain rooms/buildings/structures/sites I am bound and determined to build for shits and giggles whether or not the people they're dedicated to end up playing or not... and quite a few are going to be epic.

So far this list includes:

Zero's bomb shelter - Poor b*****d keeps getting hurt when he's around me, so I figure I'll do my best to give him a proper sense of security. Hell, just the outer layer is going to be molded from Obsidian, the most damage-resistant block players can mess with in this game.

Kin's Zombie Invasion Panic Room - Complete with plenty of weapons, internal security systems guaranteed to smite the undead but good, and one way entrances/exits, for maximum safety in the chance of an outbreak. Chests full of beheading-friendly weapons are the icing on the cake.

Shouj's Den of Iniquity - All I can say is "Hot Tub", "Lava Lights", and "Heart Shaped Bed". I came across a fairly large gold lode in the course of one of my expeditions to gather the insane resources necessary for this keep, so I think some of it might get used here.

Zelly can play around in the testing area I'll probably be walling off and labeling as Gatorcorp R&D. He can mess around with all the TNT and redstone in the chests there, experiment with cannons, check out my structure safe anti-personnel explosive projects, and otherwise do things that no sane (or fashionable) human would ever even consider.

Psy might like the underwater structures I aim to be adding with a secret entrance from one of the seawall gatehouses or towers.

I'll also probably do up a public bath, some water slide stuff, and maybe even run a minecart rollercoaster around part of things.
