Chrysant Hmm. What media player do you guys use? GOM won't play Heroman with subtitles. =/ Media Player Classic, with the pretty much universal codec pack you can get at that link. If that doesn't play it, you don't need to see it. LunaInverse You know, I get into the oddest conversations at random times. A few weeks ago, I went to the YWCA main office for CPR training. I got down there early, and stopped at Panera for lunch. As I'm getting out of my car, the old guy parked next to me strikes up a conversation. Now, I have 3 stickers on my car. One is a bear claw, another is my old parking sticker for for Westfield State College, and the third is a clear one with "Westfield State College" written on it on my rear window. So this old guy starts off by asking me if I go to Westfield State. Obviously I did, but my parking sticker is from 2001, so I tell him that. And that I already graduated. He then goes on to ask me about my bear claw sticker, what it means, does it have anything to do with college, etc etc. I look at him mystified and tell him "I just like bears..." and then he goes on to talk about these bears that are always getting into his garbage and how they're all roaming around the city. I just kind of stare at him in confusion, and finally I have a chance to make some comment about bears losing their habitation etc etc, and then make a break for Panera so I can get my food and get away from the chatty old guy. I mean, honestly, why else would someone have a bear claw sticker on their car? Ursus is MY copilot! Sounds like this guy was bearly a challenge!

So I've been working midnight to eight am all week, and I'd just like to say, Luna, I have a new respect for you working night shift. My body just can't take it, haha.
On the upside. Free Friday night.
In addition, as far as animu goes, I have to recommend RAINBOW. Takes place during the reconstruction in post-WWII Japan, following the stories of seven delinquents who get tossed into a youth prison together, for various different reasons. The story follows them through their lives both inside the prison, and out.
It's a seven way bromance, held up by a solid, character driven story. The antagonists, I feel, really stand out. The animation and character designs are spectacular, each of the central and secondary characters are distinct and has his/her own shape. Plus, it's Madhouse. Kin liek Madhouse. The story is set at just a fast enough pace to keep you interested, while not skimping on character development.
As far as drawbacks, I don't really like the opening theme, but then screeching was never really my thing. But what's probably killing this series the most is the subtitles. I've watched half a dozen different groups, and haven't been able to connect with many of them outside of the privately done [anon] subs, and even then it changes from one person to the next.
If you like seinin stories, and don't mind or can forgive bad translations, this is worth checking out. But if not, then it might be better to wait for a decent group to finish it all the way through before starting to watch it.
I'd recommend Giant Killing too, but that's more of a guilty pleasure. Looking back, it's really not that great otherwise. sweatdrop

I haven't slept, ate, or anything else'd properly over the last seven days. sweatdrop I can't imagine doing it more than a week.
