I still don't think that the Common Rooms are a good place for these contests but, here's my 2 cents.
I think doing anything with Trivia would just be duplicating the DC. Activity is slow enough in there without having another contest going on for the same reasons in the Common Rooms.
However, for the riddles, there may be some hope.
I know that Icee and MLT were trying to get that running a while back.
I'll ask Icee to post with the whole idea.
(I can't remember it all, sorry! XD)

Don't forget that if you have any contests involving common room searches, it can only be in YOUR common room. No searching through other houses' business.

so very true. When I agreed with you tech, I assumed you were putting on a mini contest for Slytherins Only (which could only be discussed in your common room with your HoH)
And it seems I have more time than I thought. Tina's referring to an old idea called "Stupid Little Ugly Guesses" (just a random name to use for 'SLUG club") The guesses refer to answers to riddles, and since no one ever volunteered to help that's as far as the idea got.
It would be a little more different from Dueling Club because it would involve Riddles (which are more time consuming) and the points would be a lot higher. I was thinking there'd be one riddle a week, worth x amount of points. Each person who guessed the riddle would become an official slug 'Stupid Little Ugly Guesser" (so we totally need a new name for that acronym) and earn 10-20 points. The first person to guess the riddle would have a shot at earning a Thank you Letter at the end of term.

Mothette When does the October event start? *impatient* Next week? The week after? There is a calender of events on this post of the Entrance Hall. The event is scheduled to start October 29th and will run through November 13th.

Haha, if by some super miracle we can get it all ready early, then maybe.
But seeing as we got the last event up LATE, I wouldn't get your hopes up. We're still working out some of the more major details, and then we have to work on minor details, sorry hon.

our next event is Fright Week, so technically it's only supposed to last a week, but for members like you we extend it to two weeks.
More than likely, the event will be a little late before it's early. =/
