((They're in Joe's bags, which are sitting by the door... whee I can't wait!))
Joe pulled the book back away from the bush, using the wind to carry it to his hands. He kept up a spray of fireballs that had only light, intensely bright and blinding if seen when they detonated. Firing a barrage as he ran, Joe made it to the only place he could think of to get the book away from Helmsborough: back in the house. After all, it had been safe there before. Which, by the way, how did that work out? Whatever. No time for that. Joe flew through the door and looked around frantically. Seeing his bags by the door, he dove down and stashed the book inside. As he put it under his clothes, his hand clanked against something metal. Confused, he grabbed and pulled. The others heard his ominous laugh from outside. "Oooooooohhhhh Jonny!" he called. "I once told you that I would find a way to even the score. I don't suppose you remember what I said? No? Oh well." There was a loud crash. "Hope you're ready!" Joe blasted out of the door at Helmsborough, flying as fast as he could, his right arm cocked back and his left arm tensed for a short jab. On his fists rested none other...than the Titan's Fists.
((OH YEAH. tomorrow, the s**t is gonna really start. cool ))

I would like to offer the opinion that he is not concerned about the box.
That book would not be good for him to have.
Motion carries. And motion indeed carried, but not for long. Halfway to Helmsborough, Centauri stopped moving. Immediately afterwards, Joe hurtled out of the house wielding the Titan's Fist. "No," Siber whispered. He dove towards the house, box in hand, and ripped the book out of Joe's bag. Now he had two very flammable items in his hands, at least one of which was highly desirable to Helmsborough. "Joe!" he yelled. "He's a Council member's avatar and you've never wielded those before! At the very least get him away from the house, as much as you can!" Dreamshell, he addressed, please help me. I need information on the book in my hands and on the willingness of the Titan's Fists to be wielded by someone channelling a Djinn. Please.

Before Joe could shout a response, the Fists took action. About two-thirds of the way to Helmsborough, the Fists stopped moving. Joe didn't. This resulted in a comedic but painful halt to Joe's momentum. "Siber! Careful with the book!" was all Joe could say as he struggled with the Fists. Look, I'm getting a little bit overwhelmed by the amount of telepathic communication I need to use just to operate my life, but I really, REALLY need your help with this one. Even if it's just for this fight. I promise, we can have some kind of talk or communication or something afterwards, because I'm really impressed by you, and I'd like to keep working with you, but for now... He trailed off pleadingly, hoping they would hear.
((Siber, Djinni is plural...Joe is channeling a Djinn. Just sayin.))

Well. We normally subtly initiate a test-of-character but that would not be convenient now, we would say, especially if you're channeling such a violent creature as a Djinn, the Titan's Fists confessed. But if you're fighting the Avatar of Abaddon, some assumptions can be made for the time being. Just be careful if you like having hands.

Well, well. That's a rather interesting tome you hold, the Dreamshell observed. That little book contains a Sage-developed spell that we do believe would allow us to tap the inter-dimensional space to sever all outside beings' connections to this world for some time, designed to block a Djinn, which they never convinced us to do... but we are capable of blocking other things... things like a certain Demon God. Do you know how to pronounce those words?

Joe sighed in relief. Thank you. I'd be more than happy to take your test as soon as this is over. In the meantime, do you have any suggestions?

((Actually, the plural as defined by Sir Richard Francis Burton is jann, whereas the singular is jinn. The Latin "genius" (which birthed the French "geniƩ," logically translated from Arabic "jinni") actually predates the Arabic "jinni" in writing, though, even though the root is the same, suggesting Latin invasion of the Arabic tongue. Wikipedia gets kind of nebulous on the etymology. Current western mythological intepretations are, though, in your advantage. ABOVE POST: EDITED ninja talk2hand ))
Siber watched Joe slam to a halt with a chuckle. He didn't know how the Fists would prepare to stop cooperating, but when they did, it was worth a laugh. In the meantime, he listened to the Dreamshell. To sever... all contact of a being to the universe? That held... disturbingly intriguing potential. Keeping an eye out for attackers, he carefully opened the book with one gauntleted hand. I have no idea how to read any of this. But assuming someone here could, we could cut the Helmsborough/Abaddon link?

((Well, let's be honest guys. Their name happens to come from what the Sages called them. While, ironically, the Sages are more likely than any other group to sweat the etymology, they don't do it for their mortal enemies.))
Helmsborough's attempted slash was interrupted by a punch from the Titan's Fists, slamming against the leg that had been stabbed. Helmsborough skidded backwards.
"Oh, that b*****d. So that's where they went," he groaned. He casually swung his sword around into himself, activating his transformation against with an agonized scream.

"Hit it!" Fyrin cried, addressing anyone who would listen. Paul was already focused enough on it to empty yet another magazine of ammo into its side; Fyrin's men took the call from across the street and started shooting explosive ammunition until surely the house must collapse. The walls buckled inwards and down, glass shattered and was sprayed across the yard, and cobalt ammo ran smack into dragon hide. ((....... *slaps Siber* No. Never, ever again. xp ))
Joe whistled. "Wow. I like this." He skipped back from Helmsborough as he transformed, raising his hands in a combat pose. "Aye, this should be a fancy rumble," Joe murmured.
((Yeah, I'll call it Post Like a Pirate Day too.))

((Now come on, Joe, you can't say something like, "Please make bad puns for the next twenty-four hours" (which is what you said in the Pirate Day post) and expect me to ignore you, you scalliwag. And more recently, you've given me even more opportunity by posting like one.)) Siber dove out of Fyrin's men's firing range and started inching towards Samuel. This was dangerous - if Samuel managed to get the book from him, very bad things would probably ensue. But if he could just flip through the tome with him... He watched Helmsborough's transformation with interest.
Centauri really did not know what to do at this point, so he decided to start trying to harpoon the dragon's eyes by breaking off parts of his wings and hurling them at it.

((*chuckles* In AP Psychology, we had to draw a picture of a picture by Picasso. Those who knew about Talk Like a Pirate Day gave the dude an eyepatch.))
Gennady, emerging from the house, took a swing at Helmsborough as a spike hurtled at Helmsborough. Helmsborough grabbed Gennady's arm, which he then ripped off. He then stabbed the disarmed Gennady with his limb and blasted him away with a crimson wave.
--
The dragon Shadowstepped through the Heart of Darkness and emerged among Fyrin's men, picking one up and biting its head and rib cage, shattering them and tossing the mangled pile of bones to the ground. It seemed they hadn't been revealing their full strength yet or that Helmsborough's more powerful transformation granted more power to his master's creatures.
