"It?" Earendil smiled down at Lin. He stood behind her and put his arms around her, holding her against him. "Or land in general?"

Though she couldn't see, his eyes were sparkling with laughter. He was teasing her, of course. He loved being at sea.

Earendil chuckled and squeezed Lin gently. "I know. I'm looking forward to this. Seeing Haldia again ..."

It felt like forever since they had seen her.

"And," he added with a grin, "it will be a nice reprieve from working so much. That was something I had to get used to."

Leyenda and Kelirahc appeared suddenly beside the group.

"Do you think we could take my dragon and go on ahead of the ship?" Kelirahc asked, his golden eyes gleaming mischievously.

"That wouldn't be fai-" Earendil began, but he was interrupted but Amalirahc's vigorous shout, "Yes!"

Earendil chuckled softly at Lin. He knew that tone.

"I still think it's unfair," he grinned at her. "But if it give us the advantage, then I say, let's do it." He looked to Kelirahc. "Should we get our things?"

"We can get them later," Kelirahc replied with a wide grin. "It has been a decade since I have seen my homeland. I am eager to see it and my old friends again."

"Can't blame you there," Leyenda giggled. "I'll go tell Mother and Father. I'll be right back!" And without waiting, she skipped off to tell them.

"Yes," Kelirahc replied with a wide smile. "As soon as Leyenda returns from telling her parents."

To save time, he stepped to where there was enough space (the side of the ship was getting crowded with people looking eagerly at the approaching island) and summoned his dragon.

"Up we go," he grinned, motioning for everyone to climb on.

Earendil grinned and picked Miyuki up, hoisting her up onto the dragon's back. "There you go," he told her cheerfully. Then he turned to Lin and held his hands as a step for her.

"Wait for me!" Celeb's voice rang out loud and clear, even above the hubbub of the crew who were starting to prepare to anchor the ship. The tall young man appeared suddenly next to them, panting for air. "Don't even think about going ahead to the island without me!"

"Celeb," Kelirahc greeted his brother in law. "Of course we would not deliberately go without you. Climb on up."

"Good," Celeb muttered, hoisting himself onto the dragon's back.

"That's putting it mildly," Celeb replied, settling down. "Come on, let's go."

"We have to wait for Mama!" Amalirahc stuck his tongue out at his uncle. "Don't be grumpy!"

"She's got her own dragon," Celeb retorted.

Amalirahc frowned. "But it's too little to fly on. Don't be grumpy, we're waiting for Mama!"

"Celeb," Kelirahc spoke up, settling himself between his son and his brother in law, "if you are not going to be polite, you will remain behind. I know you are anxious, but we are not leaving my wife."

"Besides," Earendil added. "It's still morning. Everyone will likely be asleep for a while yet. There really isn't a huge rush."
