Shingles is rarely deadly Thanatos, only in children.
I myself have had shingles, and know of several other people who have shingles, it's nothing more than extreme pain, and a burning sensation, occasionally accompanied by intense itching. Basically chickenpox on steroids. But yea, adults have no risk of dying from it unless their health is extremely compromised by something else. (Like super-aids).
