Then you don't die. I'm going to call for help. Callista nuzzled him and sent a message out to her sister Serena on their familiar link. I have need of you and your lifemate. The life of my lifemate hangs by a thread.
Serena paled and punched Pip in the shoulder. We'll be there shortly. "Get up! Callista needs help!"
Pip growled and rolled over. "But the dawn is almost here..." He read her thoughts and jumped up, pulling her with him. "Alright, alright...let's go." The two streamed out of their cave in the form of mist toward Callista and Valzar.

The world around him seemed so hazy...Valzar didn't know which way was up to down or anything. All he knew was Callista's voice and it sounded so sad it almost broke his heart...

Pip and Serena arrived in record time. Pip moved to take Valzar from Callista. She looked tired and worn, Valzar's extra weight couldn't be helping.
Serena grabbed at her sister. "What the hell were you thinking? You should have called so much sooner!"
Callista shook her head and stroked back Valzar's mane. He was so weak. "Not now...He's dying..." Valzar...Please, take what I'm about to give... She was trying hard to keep the tears out of her voice and the tiredness from her body. She ripped at the flesh on her wrist and thrust it over Valzar's mouth. "Drink, Lifemate, so that we both may live."
Serena's mouth gaped open. "Callista! Stop this instant! You don't have the blood to spare!"
"Even if you could do this, he wouldn't accept it from you. At least with me, there's a chance he'll respond."

Valzar felt the presence of others looming around him and struggled to get back to Callista, unaware of the state of his body or of the dark liquid flowing into him.

Callista was merging with Valzar, urging her heart and lungs to work for both of them. She looked up when her wrist was pulled away from Valzar's mouth.
Serena licked the wound for her sister, sealing it off. When she saw Callista move to protest she shook her head. "You can't give any more blood. You've already given more than I should have let you."
Callista bristled at that, "It's my life and my lifemate. I would glady give all that I had...you have no right to stop me from it." She tore her wrist open again and placed it over Valzar's mouth.
Pip groaned and heaved Valzar onto the bed in Callista's cave. "Little Sister, you are distressing my lifemate. If you continue, I will forcibly stop this."
She ignored Serena's lifemate and continued to give to Valzar. Valzar...

She was getting weaker, My idiot brother-in-law is threatening to make me stop giving to you, as is my right. I suspect at any moment, He'll intervene and make me take blood.
As if on cue, Pip moved and pulled Callista away from Valzar, setting her down on the other side of the cave. "I will not have this, Little Sister. You have caused your sister extra worry and uneasiness."
Callista blinked and slid slowly down the cave wall. "It is my right...to give...to him."
"Pip!" Serena squealed, "We're losing her too!"

Callista nodded and moved slowly toward Serena.
Serena moved and caught Serena against her, shoving her own wrist at her sister, who tore into it hungrily.
"Watch her! Do not let her drink you dry!" Pip's voice was a harsh growl as he watched his lifemate and her sister.
Callista licked the wound shut, shooting a glare at Pip. "It would be impossible for me to drink my sister dry." She moved back to Valzar, resting her head against his, letting herself search outside of her body and in his to see how bad the damage to his body was.

Yes...I am. But you're in worse shape. She found the wounds in his neck easily and began to heal them.
Pip grumbled again, "Your family is the sole producer of the most stubborn girls I have ever met..."
"Hush and help her or I'll show you a stubborn girl." Serena was already pouring all the strength she had into Callista and her healing efforts.

Pip rolled his eyes, "Yes, my love, but we will be discussing this later." He was pouring his strength into Callista as well, hoping she would hurry so that she could take more blood before the sun came up.
"We certainly will be. This complaining about my family can't continue."
