When Karen was just about to do the seal, she kind of forgot which one she was going to do. So it ended being a weird mix of two different seals. "Hehe, well that didn't work out like I would of liked it to." She sat back onto the ground, and felt totally bored. "Why couldn't my first lesson be something cool, like target practice, or sparring." She let out a low shy. She started to get back up. "Well guess I won't move onto anything else till I finish this one, so better get at it." So with that said she started to get ready to try and do the seal again. But first she made up her mind on want seal she was going to do this time.

Handseals The first thing the students needed to learn were the handseals that made the Jutsus possible. So I set them to learning all twelve. The rules are as follows: Roll 1d20 for each seal, one at a time. They must get a 12 or higher in order to correctly perform a seal. Each seal must be performed once correctly before being learned. Use the formula: [1d20 + Int Mod. = (#)]. DC: 12 Total Seals Learned: 4/12 **No Hp or Cp cost. Rewards: +1 Intelligence, +3 Concentration (one-time only)

"Well now it seems I've jinxed myself. Hehe, well guess I shouldn't have said it was going to be easy." Karen didn't actually think she jinxed herself, she didn't really believe in that kind of stuff, but she just thought it looked like she had. "Well guess I'll just have to keep trying till I get it. I'll just try again, and again, and again, and..... Ok I'm starting to make myself depressed, I should proble shut up know." Karen started to laugh at herself. "Ok, time to get serious." She made her best serious face that she could do, which didn't work out that well and when she saw her reflection in the water she started to laugh. When she finally stopped laugh she tried to make the seal again.

Karen had completed another one of the seal. "Yes, almost half way there. Just a little more to go." She was surprised that she was having some diffualties with the seals, she originally thought it would be a breeze, but atleast it seemed to be getting easier. Even though it was more diffuaclt than she first thought, she was actually happy, she loved a challenge, thats one of the reasons she wanted to become a ninja. But even though she loved a challenge, she usually wasn't to good at challenging things. So that made her pretty happy that this was both challenging and do able. She started to try the next seal.

With a slight smirk Tenma saw that her grappling partner had been unable to free himself. Granted, it seemed to be more because of a crap than her grip on him. In an attempt to further pin the boy Tenma shifted her legs to make her knees push in on his thighs. After this slight shift she dug her toes into the ground to, hopefully, give herself some leverage or whatever he wanted to call it.
Hearing the other girl run off and call out to them Tenma quickly looked up an smiled, but quickly returned her attention to her target. She wasn't going to let him go easily, at least she hoped it wouldn't be too easy.

Rhaim was more than a small bit dissapointed in the fact that this small girl had managed to pin him down and was continuing to do so. If this went on any longer he was certain that he would hear this story being retold countless times at home. It was bad enough that his older sisters could beat him up whenever they chose, but to have a younger girl be able to do the same would only add to the daily ridicule. Though the Nara boy never took any of it to heart and only shrugged away their comments, this would be much different. He closed his eyes as he felt Tenma use the lapse in his movements to readjust herself on top of him for a better hold. His best bet was to ignore all of the seperate moving parts for now and try to simply roll them over so that he would be on top. He knew however that the best laid plans of mice and oft do go awry.

The small girl was fairly content with her hold, but this didn't last very long as the boy was simply able to force her to roll over along with him. What really surprised her was the actual power he used in his roll. Quite frankly, she hadn't stood a chance when he actually put himself into it. At least, she thought he put himself into it. Thanks to the lacking mass of her body she was overly easy to move and force around. Now that the boy was on top she would have to find her way out of the grapple again. Lucky for her this seemed to be one of her stronger points.

Rhaim was glad that he hadn't completely made of a fool of himself and was able to roll over on top of Tenma. However seeing as to how the training was about her being able to grapple him and not about him grappling her he had no intention of maintaining his dominance. Thus he rolled backwards while still gripping the girls arms so that she was once again on top. However as they neared the end of the movement he released her arms and slid his knees up in front of her abdomen so that she was not sitting on him this time. With his legs up and in front of Tenma he would in theory have an easier time controlling where and how she moved around him. Though in all actuallity the ease at which she would obtain the grapple would be no different than the previous attempts that she had made.

The sudden tumbling caught the girl off guard. She was incapable of gaining a grip or her balance during the rolling, but she soon found they had stopped with her in front of the Nara. The position was odd because the boy's legs were in front of her chest. Though she wasn't exactly sure what to do Tenma knew she would have to work around the boy's legs. As she had seen before, nothing came from not trying. Even if she didn't manage to get a good hold, she would learn something from it.

Rhaim sighed a bit as he watched Tenma squirm and flail about in front of him with no real game plan. He felt mildly like a jerk for not giving her any sort of warning or advise for the situation, however he wasn't about to underestimate her either. Without adjusting himself from the defensive position he began rocking the smaller girl left and right with his legs to get her attention.
"Alright, as long as my legs are front of you, you won't get anywhere. Your best option isn't to force through them since I'll just lock them around your waist and flex you back. You need to get out to the side of them. Either side works. Mounting from the side is just as effective as from the front. Be careful about sweeping the leg over your head though. There are a variety of chokes that can be started from that."

The girl's attention was immediately caught with the rocking motion, it was something different and odd. In her own childish fashion she leaned on his legs and rested her hands on his knees, which was also where she rested her chin. Her eyes let the boy know she was being attentive. She listened intently because, so far, all of his advice had helped. The thought of a choke hold made the girl subconsciously reach for her throat with the idea. Noticing what she was doing she put her hand back down and smiled. Oops.
Taking in a deep breath the child made a slightly odd attempt at getting around the side. With how much bigger the boy was she was finnding it difficult to manuever around his legs. If what she was trying worked she would be able to pin the boy's legs away from her, then she would focus on his arms.

Rhaim used his free hands to clap an applause for the girl as she easily bipassed his legs and took control from the side. He was about to give her a bit of verbal praise as well when he noticed that her attention soon shifted to his arms. He immediately reached down the girls back and attempted to take hold of her pants. However he realised that she was wearing a sweater over top of her pants that went all the way down to her knees. Thus he was left with grabbing hold of her sweater, which he assumed would work all the same. His purpose was not take a hold of her so much as to get his arms away from her immediate surroundings.
"Don't worry about my hands. You don't submit someone by pinning their arms. Go for chokes and wirst locks and elbow locks. The idea is to end the fight as soon as possible and move on to the next enemy, not to prolong it like the new kid and Cone are doing."

Now the girl had to focus on getting her sweater free from the boy while reacquiring dominance. It would be a bit more difficult for her to get him off of her back, most because it was a difficult place to reach, instead she would focus on his free arm. Quickly thinking back she figured an elbow lock would be best. For one, she was so much smaller than him and it would push her too far out if she tried to get all the way to his wrist. This was a difficult but entertaining task. Once she was done here she would finally be able to take on her grandfather. Eventually.

It was uncomfortable.
No, scratch that...
Hyuuga Michishirube walked forward a step. The person behind him did the same. He took another two steps. Once again, that person mimicked his movements. A sweatdrop appearing now, the teen began power-walking...but the person behind him had no trouble keeping up with his speed...
This was downright awkward. All right, all right...so he KNOWS she can't see. But it's just...just...WEIRD...having her eyes bore into your back - hell, he could even feel the intensity of her gaze...! Sighing, the eastern gate captain stopped, and turned to face the red-haired child.
"Er...Kana? Don't you have something better to do on your free day...?" No response. Sighing, Shiru reached into his pocket, pulled out a few ryo, and shoved it into the child's hands. "Here here, go buy an ice cream or something..."
POOF.
The next thing Shiru knew, there was a giant puppet next to him, holding an ax and seemingly ready to swing it at any given moment. Goodness, when did she pull out that...? "Kana!!"
POOF.
It vanished.
"Kana! I dunno, go trail Kensei or something! Why me?"
"Kensei-sama...is training with Heki-sama...it is the duty of the cadet branch to guard the main family..."
Shiru sighed, smacking a gauntleted palm to his face. At least he got a full sentence from her, he suppose... But he suddenly got this awful, echoey voice in his head, and Kana's head appeared in his mental eye, muttering robotically 'protect...main family...duty...duty...'
He swallowed the urge to remind her since they were on the same standing, he didn't need protecting (inner expression: T.T)...
