"There is honor among thieves...but it is only for other thieves. And even that is something that is sparce." Back to memorizing the room. "It wasn't just because I would't sleep with him...he just thinks he can bully me into doing his menial tasks and such for him free of charge and such. Don't worry Shyrae, this will all be set straight. When you brood you tend to think of all the thinks that can work in your favor. We'll just wait till we're called to the carpet about things. Though dare I say you willingness to go after him is touching."

Kaz glanced down to catch her smile, mirroring it himself. Partly out of surprise and partly of delight. "Yes, I can never stop learning. My father is a great dragonlord, he has achieved many things that I can only dream of accomplishing." Dipping his head in gratitude to her. "Thank you for your kind words, I believe that I will learn from your compassion and generosity as well." He started to walk with her back towards the inner city but did nod his head in return. "Unfortunately, I cannot leave under the murder case from last night has been solved. But as I am still in the city, perhaps we could start our search here, M'lady?"

"That's still low. He should be willing to pay just like everyone else who needs or wants you to do whatever you do is and should. Though the fact that he needs a necromancer does worry me slightly." She went back to braiding her hair and then frowned. "Savvy, what sort of menial tasks exactly? He wouldn't want you to actually commit murder or anything would he?" That would just be wrong on so many levels. "Maybe I should write my parents..." But she stood and began feeling each of the stones in the wall, tapping them lightly with one of her daggers. At least they hadnt' taken her weapons away.

Being so much shorter than him meant she had to take two steps for every one of his long strides just to keep up with him but she managed it with effortless grace. "Two searches will be conducted of the inner sanctum. You and I together as we are now and then later I will go out on my own in various forms. There are clues that are sometimes only visible to certain eyes. If you should require assistance with your case, merely let me know and I will make myself useful wherever I can." She glanced around the city for a moment and then paused thoughtfully as her eyes lit on those prowling along the walls. "Tell me the sequence of the guards."

Caden paused where he stood and shuddered a little bit, today he was stuck on the wall again and since his little arrest he has been getting a lot of his companions coming up and bugging him about it, kind of made him wish he never made the arrest in the first place; and as usual thing seem to come down the chain of command back to the lowest ranking officer, but Raynes wouldn't let it get to him he would just shrug it off and do his duty.

Though back to the shudder he thought that he felt someone watching him, turning around he looked up to see two figures on the wall. Squinting lightly he saw someone small and the other looked like the description of Kaznec which made him wonder what they were up to. "Probably just looking over things..." He muttered to himself before turning away to continue his duty, and that consisted of him walking up and down the walkway he was stationed on, what joy.

Hunter was at the helm, adn the Chimera sailing the sand dunes with praticed ease, avoiding what might have been mountains at one poitn but were now rocks that were constantly buried and exposed by the winds shifting the sands around. but they got to thier destination, and hunter reloaded his crossbow, and shot a the bird again. this time it was a cloth netting. can't let the bird see what's around here and report back. after all...they might be here awhile.

then jumping off leaving some crew to tend to the bagging of the bird, and down into the ruins. katana on the back, crossbow and cutlass..and his lockpicks and dynamite.

"Maybe if he does have something of interest then I will do some work for him. But at the time that he was trying to coherce me into jailbreak, he didn't seem to have anything that was specific enough to catch my interest." A light shrug then. "Magic detection, those kinds of things...than and he finds mysteries very interesting." A frown though over in Shyrae's new direction. "Write them for what?" She wasn't going to write home for parental aid was she? "And what are you doing?" Picking up that tapping noise.

He turned his head at whistling sounds and merely gave a surprised screech before teh netting hit him and he tumbled to the deck, screeching and clawing at his temportaty confinement, snappign at the cloth and ripping at it with his talons. Not a happy Chylithair.

They kept pace, walking along the outer walls and he knew better than to purposefully take shorter strides in order to accommodate her. That might be taken the wrong way and she would think he thought of her as weak or inferior. "Thank you for that offer, my father and I will take it into consideration." Again, he nodded and gestured mildly with his hands. "The Ilindal Guard is divided into 4 main regiments, corps if you will. The Commanding Generals, such as myself, lead the Guard. The Artillery are next, these are the ones allowed to carry more damaging weapons on them. Then the Rangers and finally the Foot Guards. This order of precedence is based on skill and ability, our guards are put through a series of extensive tests in order to determine their position." Looking up for a moment, he spotted the human guard from before and walked up to him. "Raynes. Care to give our visitor a brief description of our guard's patrol sequence?"

Down in the catacombed ruins, picking over stone and wood.

"that chest is from here. and if it contains a being, as in a jailed whatever, then most jails have all the inmates personal effects in storage. weapons, evidence, all of that sort. So spread out a bit, and lets see if we can find some thing of that sort. Careful of antlion traps and quicksand. I really don't feel like digging up a replacement for someone right now."

not that he cared much for the crew...but still. finding a replacement to a hardened pirate wasn't exactly easy to do.

"and no greedy loot whoring. you find something, you give a shout. One person so much as tries to get an extra copper coin, and I'll leave this whole group buried in the sands."

Well before Caden could even bother to go back to his usual duty Commander Kaznec and guest came towards him, with the dragon asking if he would like to give a brief description of how they did thier job, now if that didn't put him in the spot light then he didn't know what else could. Though he looked down to the person the commander was showing around and he blinked a little, she seemed odd though he believed he had seen her before some where, but at least she rung a bell. Caden blinked a little before he snapped out of his daze and shook his head a little. "Yes a description you ask? Alright sir. Well as a Foot Guard we usually do what none of the other regiments would do, like break up small pesky fights, patrol the wall...stuff like that mostly. Working the wall though it's divided into two levels and the walk ways are only divided so much with a station at each division, the stations are given two guards and the rotate in shifts, one stays beside the bell to ring incase they are told of danger and the other walks the wall to keep an eye out if any one approaches the city...it's really simple."

A small pause as he looked back between the two of them and grinned a little bit. "Sorry sir...that was a brief as I could get I guess..." A nervous chuckle to that as he stood there, oh he had to wonder what would happen if the others got wind about this, they would never let him live it down.

"He's a human, everything is a mystery to him because he hasn't been around long enough to truly understand anything." She wasn't sure how she felt about Hunter trying to get things from her friend last night, then framing her for murder and attempting to turn her even more criminal by escaping from jail. "Becoming an escaped convict would seal your fate. Why run if you have done nothing wrong?" She continued the tapping though it paused for a moment in light of Savvy's question. "Testing for loose bricks. I'm not staying cooped up in here. I'm going to find that pirate, drag him back here, and make him confess."

She listened to Kaz and nodded, "You have a decent force here. Many trained in various aspects, a wise move." Thus over to Caden and she listened once again. "How long do these shifts last? Where do the others stand?" Darkness could cover anything and evil doers always managed to find a way to do such things. Still, how had the thief taken the gift? "Were you one of the guards who was on patrol when the gift was stolen, young soldier?"

Another blink as the little person went pn asking him more questions, kind of odd for Caden but if he was to answer them then he would have to. A look to his commander before back down to the tiny person, he could swear on his job right now she gave off that vibe, the one where a person who they had met who they are looking at somewhere before and to Caden he wondered why did this tiny person looks so familiar? Even her voice gave off that vibe, it kind of creped him out. "Well a regular shift would last at least eight hours before being switched over...sometimes it can climb higher but that hasn't happened in awhile..." Though a pause as he looked at the walkway. "Well see that station about ten feet down there?" He asked pointing behind him, it was like the one's on top, sort of a shack like model but big enough to be comfortable and the bell is right on top. "Well that contains my partner for the day, he sits there for a half an hour with the bell and if I spot something I'm suppose to make him ring it if no one else has..." A small pause as looked up for a second to see what was going on before turning his attention back to the small one. He blinked again when she asked him where he was when the gift was stolen. Gift? It didn't ring a bell, but when he thought of it for a moment it then clicked. "Oh well I couldn't remember really...I may have been guarding the wall...but I can't recall much why?"

Patiently, he stood and listened to Raynes talk and give the major details of how foot guard patrol shifts worked. "Well done, Raynes. How much longer is your shift?" Then turning back to the Laerethe, he nodded his head calmly. "The Commanding Generals usually patrol the entire area of the city sporadically, each going where his wings or legs take him. The Artillery are usually occupied in training new recruits or guarding the jails, never on patrol except in special circumstances such as parades or other events. As for the Rangers, most scout the city in disguise and control small riots or other issues the people have. They are also sent outside regularly on missions." He paused for a moment, thinking. "I believe my father has the exact list of who was on shift when the Orb was stolen, M'lady. I can retrieve it for you to see later."

Blinking for a moment, she tilted her head. "Why would you draw dots upon something or someone?" And then another pause, "You should not force others to do anything. It often ends badly." Other than that she was quite pleased with what she was hearing. It was well organized and well protected. "You were not careless with something so precious. This pleases me." Her gaze swept over Caden for a moment and she glanced up at him. "Why do you worry so much on what others might think, young human? If you do what is right, stand up and be proud of your actions. Rash ones should be a learning experience not that to hold your head in shame and wallow about in."

A list would be very good. Together they could speak to those on it. "That means a great evil was probably responsible for the thievery. This will make it that much harder to find." And possible result in it's destruction as well.

Savvy pressed a hand to the stone walling...bricks indeed, mortor between each to hold them in place. "Don't need loose bricks, I could decay all of this it's child's play. Tucking her hands back into her robe sleeves. "But, making yourself a criminal by fleeing witll do you no good either Shyrae. This is not how things work. You Intara's are all rash. Wait till I am absolved, then we'll go together. Chylithair will let us know...where's the sun?"

Caden looked towards his commander and thought about how much time he had left, well he came in about a half an hour ago...so it was basic subtraction really. "About seven and a half hours left." He told the dragon with a confirming nod. Though again his gaze back to the one who has been asking him question and he paused for a second, well he didn't mean for it to come off like that. "I was just wondering cause it has been awhile since the theft and no one has bothered to ask me any questions until now...just threw me off that's all." Well that's the way it was really, thought as he still tried to remember that night it was a good chance he was probably working...the list would give them a better answer than him. "Well the commander and other have been looking for it for awhile now...whatever did stole the gift has got some good hiding abilities...either by magic or natural...still hopefully we can find out who exactly did it soon." Well he was an optimist about the whole ordeal, they had some good trackers and the commander did his job well; some people haven been upset about the theft but Caden will always keep a positive look on it all.
