Wow. Now that's a revelation. The blade children are created to operate Project Carthage? Nice. Another good parallel between CL and Spiral, Zaber.

There's going to be a very hillarious moment coming up in Episode 15.2. I will not elaborate for now, let's just say Jeremy walks in at the wrong moment.

As you can see, Odd and Ulrich are now coming back into the story permanently, and Yumi will be joining them shortly. Xana takes a swing at them shortly... and winds up interrupting Kouske's riveting narrative.

Anyways... I think... I'm not sure, but I think... you'll get to see Rio's lyoko form this time. Eyes will be going back too.

Code SPIRAL - 15 - created human [Part 2]

"It's great that you two are back!" Jeremy exclaimed into his cell phone back in his room. He was on speaker phone with Odd, Ulrich, and Ayumu back at the factory. "I'll hack you two back into school first thing in the morning. With any luck, you can start back at the school on Monday." Jeremy replied. "Until then... I guess you'll just have to camp at the factory."
"That's fine Einstein, but do you think you could slip us some food? I'm starving!" Odd exclaimed into the microphone.
"I'll bring you breakfast in the morning, Odd. Aelita and I will come to the factory for a little reunion." Jeremy reassured him.
"Hey Jeremy... you may want to scratch that." Ulrich told him nervously as a window popped up on the supercomputer screen. "Xana's seems to want to welcome us back too."
"Don't tell me..." Jeremy muttered with disdain.
"Tower." Ayumu stated. "Better get Aelita. I'll go ahead and call Kosuke and Ryoko."
"Kouske and Ryoko?" Ulrich asked. "Who are they?"
"You've got to be kididng! Einstein's replaced us!" Odd joked.
"Look, I'll just get Aelita and get over here. If Odd and Ulrich are there, we won't need their help." Jeremy told Ayumu. "Just hang tight." Jeremy hung up as he quickly re-dressed and dashed out of his dorm room.

"But... but... that just can't be!" Aelita exclaimed angrilly. "You're saying my father killed them?!?!"
"He once had a gun to my head." Kosuke told her firmly. "And if it hadn't been for Eyes, I'd be dead right now." Aelita stared at him dumbfounded. The Franz Hopper who had suppossedly killed them and the loving Franz Hopper she knew as her father seemed like different people. She couldn't bring herself to believe Kouske. Kouske, noticing her silence, continued. "You see... while working with the other scientists on the government's payroll for project Carthage... he and another scientist... a Mr. Kiyotaka Narumi... started another project. Kiyotaka was the first one to notice it... that the government had dark designs for Carthage. He went to Franz Hopper... and together they conspired to create their own project... a program designed to destory Carthage from within, and prevent the government from abusing it's ultimate power." Kosuke explained. "And thus, Xana was created. You know what happened then. Hopper had it coming. By creating the blade children... he was already stepping on god's toes. Creating that malevolent computer program was the last straw. When Xana turned on him, he went mad. He decided the only way to fix things was to destroy ALL of his work. The supercomputer, Carthage, Xana... and the blade children. Xana, of course, defended himself. And the other scientists proteced the computer and Carthage. But there was no one to protect us."

Jeremy knocked on Aelita's door anxiously.
"Aelita? Are you there? There's a tower..." He spoke to the door, with no response. "Aelita?" Jeremy hesitantly opened the door to find the room empty. Jeremy glanced around the room nervously, then turned on his heels and knocked on the door opposite Aelita's. "Ryoko?" Jeremy called in. He heard a rustling inside and a moment later the door opened a crack.
"Jeremy? What's wrong?" She asked, half her face visible in the crack of the door.
"Ryoko, have you seen Aelita? She's not in her room." Jeremy asked her.
"No. Why? Is there a hunter?" Ryoko asked.
"Close. It's a tower." Jeremy replied as he took out his phone and tried to dial her cell phone... but it was off. "Her phone's off."
"I'll help you find her. Be out in a second." Ryoko told him as she ducked back into her room, shutting the door.

"Hopper did succeed however, in convincing most of the other scientists that the blade children had to be destroyed." Kosuke continued to narrate. "We were rounded up... at the factory. We weren't told what was going on. Before we knew it... we were under attack. Many of the blade children were murdered by their own "parent". You weren't there... Hopper didn't consider you to be one of the blade children, wether you had the genetic code or not. The rest of us had to suffer the horror of seeing our friends... and family... mowed down by the only adults we trusted." Kosuke continued... and, for the first time, Aelita saw tears welling up in his eyes. "Like I said before... most of us were killed by Hopper and the other scientists. Of the thirty-six scientists from Project Carthage... only six tried to protect us. And leading them... was Ayumu's older brother, Kiyotaka Narumi. Also amognst them... was Imazato... although he turned on us later. Those six scientists managed to save and hide numerous blade children... including myself, Ryoko, Eyes, and the rest of us who you know."

"The other scientists, however... turned on Hopper afterwards. They blamed him for Xana's exsistence, and rightfully so. And they argued that as one of the blade children... YOU should be eliminated too. This is what led Hopper to flee into hiding, and eventually to his flight to Lyoko. Meanwhile... the scientists, after the government canceled project Carthage... formed a group devoted to hunting down the surviving blade children and the traitors who were protecting them. That group is what we now know as the Hunters." Kosuke groaned. "Since then... they've been recruiting. Young criminals... assassins... anyone they can get to help them. They would come after us on a regular basis. For every hunter we out-smarted and killed... two more joined their ranks. We all just went into hiding... all around the world. Ryoko and I were in Japan for a while. But after a hunter killed the scientist who was protecting us, Ryoko faked her death and started living under an alias... where-as I came back here and linked up with Eyes. A simmilar thing happened to Rio. Over the years... we've been hunted like animals. Most of the blade children were killed off... as well as ALL the scientists who protected us. Our creation... and the order to destory us... all originated from your father." Kouske finished with hatred.
"That... that just can't be!!!" Aelita cried out with outrage. It had been building up ever since this tale had begun. "There's no way Dad could have done any of that! You're lying!" She shouted at him, now crying.
"I wish I was, Aelita..." Kouske answered quitely with his eyes closed. Aelita stared at him with watery eyes for a few moments. She finally collapsed off the bed and fell to her knees, where Kouske caught her, embracing her for emotional support as she cried into his shoulder. "It's okay..." Kouske tried to calm her, but before he could make any progress, his door kicked open. Ryoko stood framed in the doorway, her leg still extended from kicking in the door. It took her just a moment to survey the room, and what she saw was Aelita crying, with Kouske embracing her. She took a quick, gasping breath, before she started to yell.
"Kouske!" She yelled. "What the hell is..."
"It's not what it looks like!" Kouske exclaimed as he held out his hand to stop her as he saw Ryoko roll up one of her sleeves.
"Aelita?" Jeremy came from the corner of the door, and now saw the teary-eyes Aelita sitting on the floor. He rushed to her side as she continued to weep.
"Kosuke, what the hell did you do?" Ryoko stepped towards him menacingly. Kouske grimaced, and then scratched the back of his head.
"I... kinda told her... everything." Kouske said hesitantly. He quickly found himself smashed in the face by Ryoko's fist.
"EYES TOLD YOU NOT TO TELL HER!!!" She yelled at him as she grabbed his collar. She pulled him close and growled at him through gritted teeth. "The reason he didn't want her told was because it would upset her too much! What part of that didn't you understand?!?!"
"But she's the one who asked!" Kouske pleaded, making no effort to fight back against her.
"Idiot!" Ryoko drew back her fist to punch him again, but froze as she saw that Jeremy had rushed to Aelita's side. Aelita's weeping was still rather severe, but had begun to subside a bit as Jeremy comforted her. They exchanged a few muffled words as Aelita buried her face in his shoulder. Ryoko's snarl reverted to a more or less neutral state, but she didn't release her grip on Kouske's collar. "She's in no fit state to deactivate the tower." She directed at Jeremy. "Just stay here. We'll take care of it." Ryoko reassured him. "C'mon, you stupid dumb-a** baka..." Ryoko jerked Kouske out of the room with her. But they had scarcely taken two steps out of the hall when Ryoko ran into someone. An instant later, she and Kouske were knocked several feet down the hall while being shocked with electricity. Sissi stood in the hall, her hand out-stretched, her eyes glazed over with the all too familiar black markings.

"Shouldn't they be here by now?" Ulrich asked Ayumu who was sitting in the chair.
"Yeah. It doesn't take that long to get here..." Odd added on. "You don't think they've come under attack maybe?"
"Most likely." Ayumu groaned as he reached for the phone app, but it rang as he was reaching for it. He hesitantly picked it up, not recognizing the number with his caller ID. The caller began to play on the speakers.
"I've just been alerted to an activated tower." Eyes spoke to him throught the phone. On the other side of town, he was standing in his penthouse, staring at the laptop on top on his piano. "Is there a problem?"
"Not sure yet. Jeremy and Aelita are supposed to be on their way, but they're late. I was just about to call them, but..."
"You're at the factory now, correct?" Eyes asked him as he keyed a quick sequence.
"Yeah, why?"
"Go ahead and head to Lyoko. I'll meet you there." Eyes told him before hanging up. Ayumu set the phone down, slightly bewildered.
"How the hell did he get the supercomputer's phone number, anyway?!?!" Ayumu exclaimed.
"Who was that?" Odd asked.
"Eyes." Ayumu told him. "He's on our side... sort of." Ayumu turned back to the computer, steadying his microphone. "Three to the mountain sector. 75 seconds." He dictated clearly into the mic, and a series of windows began to pop up and run on their own, with a 1:15:00 window appearing and starting to countdown. Ayumu stood up and headed to the elevator, and Ulrich and Odd followed him.
"Why couldn't Jeremy have done something like that for us?" Ulrich said to Odd.
"I'm beginning to think he didn't like us or something." Odd muttered sarcastically. "So... how's this "Eyes" guy going to get to Lyoko?"
"He's got his own scanner, in his own little hideout." Ayumu told him. "Jeremy hasn't been able to trace it's location yet."
"But how do we do anything without Aelita?" Ulrich asked. "Shouldn't we just wait for her to get here and save our LP?"
"Aelita's not nearly as critical as she used to be." Ayumu told them. "Eyes... Ryoko... Kouske... they don't just deactivate towers, they destroy them." Ayumu stared at his feet. "But I'm worried. In theory... if we destroy them all, Xana won't be able to attack Earth any more. But we won't be able to use the towers to fight back against him either..." The elevator door opened and the three stepped into the scanners and waited for them to close, as Ulrich and Odd pondered the meaning of Ayumu's words.

"Eyes... you're going to Lyoko, right?" Rio asked him as the silver scanner rose out of the floor. She stood at the edge of the piano, wearing her pajamas.
"Yes. I sense the other's won't be able to make it to the factory. They need someone who can destroy the tower." Eyes told her.
"Can I come with you?" Rio asked. Eyes glanced at her with surprise.
"Are you sure?" He asked her. "You were just released from the hospital this morning. Are you sure you want to strain yourself?"
"I need the exercise." Rio stretched her arms over her head. "Besides... it could be fun." She stepped towards the scanner, but Eyes wouldn't open the door for her.
"This isn't a game, Rio." He told her sternly. "Remain here." He pressed a button and stepped into the scanner, which closed immediately after, as he virtualized himself. Rio crossed her arms and threw back her head, as if pouting.

Odd, Ulrich, and Ayumu dropped onto Lyoko. Ulrich and Odd made a face-first landing, out of practice at landing on their feet. As they stood up, Ayumu looked them over as he leanded on his halberd.
As vividly as Aelita had described Odd's appearance to him before, he still looked extremely odd as a giant cat. It would take some getting used to. Odd stared at his backside.
"Ah... I missed my tail!" Odd cried out with joy. A second later, Ayumu groaned. He had forgotten to issue the voice command for the delayed virtualization of their vehicles.
"Sorry guys... we'll have to hoof it until Jeremy gets there." Ayumu told them, neglecting to mention the fact that he COULD have materialized vehicles. He pointed his halberd at arm's length to the south. "Tower's that way."

Eyes materialized in another part of the sector, planning to approach the tower from the east. There was a tunnel there that would give him cover until he got close. With any luck, the monsters wouldn't even see him coming. His red, serrated katana hung at his side, bouncing with each quick step as he sprinted towards the tower. In the real world, Rio sat at the bench of the piano, watching Eyes' icon moving through the landscape, as she sipped on a mug of hot chocolate.
"Damn it Eyes... I know it's not a game. I was just kidding." She muttered before taking another swig. She saw three red icons hiding in an undercropping Eyes had just passed, as the three icons began to move. She grabbed the mic off the laptop and flipped it on. "Eyes! Behind you!" Rio shouted to him. Eyes stole a quick glance behind him to see three kankralots firing on him. He took a hit in the rib cage before he could duck behind another rock formation. "Are you okay?" Rio asked him.
"I'll live." Eyes told her as he ripped the crystal pendant off the band on his neck and attached it to the sword hilt. "Do me a favor and try to make contact with Kosuke and the others." He ordered. Rio did not respond. "Please." Eyes added with slight annoyance.
"I'm on it." Rio responded with a small grin as she picked up her cell phone.

Kosuke groaned as his face hit the floor for the fifth time in a row. Even his high stamina was beginning to stretch thin. He and Ryoko had run smack into the possessed Sissi as they headed out the door, and a brawl had ensued within the hallway. But even with both of them using their eyes... they were overwhelmed. Even the blade children couldn't shoot electricity. They had been taken by surprise... typically, even he, the most impulsive of the blade children, always scoped things out and planned his moves beforehand when it came to an actual fight. It was more often these strategies than his actual skills that saw him through. Kosuke groaned as he stared through the open door into his room, where Jeremy and Aelita remained, aware of the specter, but unable to leave the room without being attacked. They were trying to stay out of the way... but Kouske knew that as soon as he and Ryoko were unable to fight anymore, they would be finished off in minutes.
"Jeremy..." Kouske yelled into the room as he crawled up off the floor. "The factory... hurry..." He urged. He turned to Ryoko, who was also in the process of standing back up. "We have to give them an opening..." He told her.
"Try to get a grip on her." Ryoko told him. "One... two..." Ryoko began to count out as the possessed Sissi cracked her knuckles and stepped towards them again. But before she could say three, her cell phone rang. "What the..." Ryoko stopped as she grabbed the phone off her belt, but Kouske had already grabbed onto Sissi, and was trying to get a grip on her, but was being electrocuted.
"RUN!!!" Kouske shouted through the pain, as Jermey pulled a still very shaken Aelita out of the room as they ran down the hall.
"Ryoko? What's going on?" Rio asked over the phone as she heard the commotion.
"Oh, Rio! Thank goodness! Xana's possessed Sissi Delmas, Kosuke and I are pinned down at the school, and Jeremy and Aelita can't get to the factory! You and Eyes need to..."
"Eyes is already en route." Rio told her. "Just make sure you guys all stay alive!" She urged them.
"We'll do our best.. but... agh!" Rio was cut off as her phone was hurrled across the room after she was struck by a flying Kouske. Sissi had not only broken Kouske's grip on her, but then lifted Kouske over her head and thrown him down the hall at Ryoko like a giant bowling ball. Kosuke, completely riveted with electricity, was knocked out cold. As her whole body, particularly her head, slammed into the wall at the end of the hall, her eyes flickered on and off as she struggled to maintain conciousness... but after a few seconds, faded away.
"Ryoko? Ryoko! Ryoko!!" Rio shouted into the phone which lay on the floor. A moment later, Rio's connection was cut off as Sissi stomped down on the phone with such force that the plastic frame broke and the LCD screen shattered. She emotionlessly turned around, and ran after Jeremy and Aelita, who had just descended the stair case, and she dropped through the floor like a ghost before reaching the stairs.

Rio hung up with frustration.
"Sorry Eyes... looks like you're on your own." Rio told him through the intercom. On lyoko, all three kankralots had been destroyed, Eye's blade made a clinking sound as he returned it to it's sheath.
"How many life points do I have?" He asked.
"Sixty." Rio told him. "Careful Eyes... remember... you're the one who has to go in the tower."
"I'll try to remember that." Eyes said, but before he could turn and make any move towards the tower, he found a crab heading out of the tunnel he was about to head down. He drew out his katana again and started to use it to absorb the krab's shots.

Ayumu, Ulrich, and Odd stood in front of the actiavted tower.
"Well... now what?" Odd asked sarcastically.
"We just wait for Eyes." Ayumu told him as he leaned on his halberd.
"Where are all the monsters?" Ulrich asked. "This is werid."
"It's because we're not a real threat." Ayumu told him. "Eyes is the only threat to the tower. Xana's probably focusing all his efforts on him.
"You'd be right." A female voice came over the intercom to them.
"Who's that?" Ulrich asked suspciously.
"Rio!" Ayumu shouted. "What are you doing at the factory?"
"I'm not at the factory, I'm at the flatt." Rio told him. "I'm acting as Eye's operator. Why don't you get off your butt and go help him?"
"We don't know where he is." Ayumu told her.
"He's pinned down by a couple of krabs in a tunnel just east of you. He's already running low on points, so hurry!"
"Alright... little miss bossy..." Ayumu muttered as the three of them ran towards a rock formation to the east with the vague outline of a tunnel just barely visible.
"Who is..." Ulrich tried to ask again, but Ayumu answered before he could finish.
"That's Rio. She works with Eyes." Ayumu explained. "Although I didn't know she could talk to us from Eye's HQ."
"Hey, Ulrich..." Odd said as they ran. "Don't you think it's a little werid that William's not here to greet us?"
"Who's William?" Ayumu was the one to ask the question this time, but in response he tripped; finding his ankle gripped by a smoky hand that had popped out of the ground. An instant later, the figure materialized out of the ground and took on proper form. Without letting go of Ayumu's leg, William made a brutal overhead swing and devirtualized Ayumu with a single blow. As he glanced up at Ulrich and Odd, they saw the change to his appearance. His sword arm was now covered in thick metal plates... and though it was hard to tell; the entire arm had been replaced with a machine. The xana imprint on his forehead had turned jet black and made more elaborate, as if it had been tattooed there. The lower half of the right side of his face was horribly scarred. A mechanically designed eyepatch was present over his right eye, with a camera lens set inside it that was constant spinning and whirring. A pair of wires ran from the eyepatch and connected to the back of his neck. His hair had grown slightly longer, and his sword was now even more corruppted by black vines.
"I get it." Odd muttered to Ulrich. "The reason William never showed up after last time... Xana hadn't finished repairing him yet." Odd glanced over at Ulrich with a dead serious look on his face. "Man... you really did a number on him, huh?" Ulrich frowned as he recalled the incident.

It had been the last Xana attack before Ulrich, Odd, and Yumi had been seperated from eachother as they were pulled away from the academy. Xana had used the attack to cause a malfunction in the scanners... so that all injuries inflicted on Lyoko became real... and until it was fixed, there was no devirtualization. Ulrich had found himself locked in mortal combat with William. While Ulrich had been healed from his wounds from a return... the same could not be said for William. During their fight, Ulrich had been thrown into a fit of rage... he preferred not to think about what William had said while under Xana's influence that flew him off the handle. He could hardly remember much of it... most of it was a blur. But he did remember clearly... William's arm... the scars on his face... and the missing eye... we're all carved by his sword.

"Mr. Stern... welcome back..." William taunted with his affected voice. His remaining eye flashed from a pupil to a Xana mark. "WE missed you." Ulrich's hand lay on his sword.
"Odd... go help "Eyes". I'll deal with him." Ulrich ordered. Odd glanced at him worriedly.
"Watch it. You remember what happened last time." Odd told him with out of character seriousness before bounding off on all fours into the tunnel. Ulrich drew both his swords in a fluid motion, ready for anything.

Eyes continued to deflect most of the blasts that came at him... although it became more difficult as a second krab and a tarantula arrived. He ducked behind his cover once more to try and catch his breath. Even with his eyes... he was still not well suited to fighting. He heard the shuffling of mechanical legs as the two krabs moved to flank him. This wasn't good... a moment later he heard an explosion, and turned to see a cat-like individual running towards him, firing arrows from his wrist at the monsters while screaming like a mad-man. He succeeded in destroying the second krab with a rapid volley of arrows, and then dropped behind the rock where Eyes was hiding.
"Hey! Are you Eyes?" Odd asked.
"Yes..." Eyes replied hesitantly, unfamiliar with the individual.
"Nice to meet'cha. Name's Odd." He said proudly before glancing around the corner to check the position of the tarantula, which had just been joined by a pair of hornets. "But at this rate... we're just gonna have to run for it."
"Not run exactly." A disembodied voice interruptted them. Ayumu had gone up to the terminal. "I'm sending vechicles." He switched off the intercom, and launched the voice command app. "Materialization - Overboard. Materialization - Overwing." A few moments later, the vehicles appeared in front of them.
"Just in time Ayumu! Thanks!" Odd shouted as he leapt on board and rocketed off. Eyes stepped quickly onto the Overwing and took off after him. The hornets continued to follow them, but the tarantula was now far out of range.

As Jeremy and Aelita rushed down the stairs, they ground to a halt at it's foot, as Sissi dropped out of the ceiling and blocked their path, proceeding up the steps after them as they turned tail and ran back up. They were both too scared to attempt anything else. Sissi followed them up the steps in a slow, dramatic fashion, with a malevolent grin on her face. They were forced to procced up past the second... and third floors... and finally towards the roof.

William's massive zanbato came crashing down towards Ulrich's head, as he struggled to block it with his two swords, putting them in a scissor lock. William groaned with exertion as he continued to drive his sword forward as Ulrich's feet slid as he was pushed back. Ulrich broke out of the lock by falling back a few feet of his own accord, and then rushing William again, only to have his slices blocked.
"I've got to try something else..." He muttered to himself. "Triangulate!" He cried as he moved at his lightning speed and surrounded William. William grinned and pointed his sword at the ground.
"Field On!" He shouted as he plunged the sword into the ground. A shockwave of red light and smoke shot through the ground for a dozen or so yards, knocking Ulrich away and destroying the clones. William quickly drew the sword from the ground and advanced again. It was too late for him to raise his swords in defense... and he found himself back on Earth in the scanner an instant later. He groaned as he climbed out. He was rusty.

Eyes and Odd were on a direct path with the tower, Odd having taken out the hornets that had been tailing him.
"Uh-oh... looks like Ulrich got PWNED." Odd told Eyes as he saw William standing between them in the tower.
"I'll fly over him while you distract him." Eyes told Odd, not even bothering to question who William was or why he was there.
"Sounds good." Odd told him as he rushed forwards towards William while Eyes ascended high into the air. Odd pulled up to a stop about ten feet in front of William, and then kicked his overboard up into his hands like it was a skateboard. "Well William... we meet again." William said nothing... did not even move or blink. "I guess being half robot's made you into a stiff!" Odd joked as he fired off a volley of laser arrows. But they passed right through, and William didn't even flinch. "Huh?" Odd exclaimed as he took a step closer. He tried to touch William with his paw, but it passed right through, flickering slightly as he did so. "An afterimage!!!" Odd exclaimed and spun around to warn Eyes but it was too late. The real William was descending towards him on the back of his manta, and he could see the frame of a devirtualized Eyes and Overwing fading out above him.

Eyes stepped out of his scanner with a grimmace. This was bad. Now, there was no way to destroy or deactivate the tower. The attack could never be stopped. On Lyoko, William laughed menichally as Odd stared up at him. Eyes glanced around the room searching for Rio... but she was nowhere to be found.

Jeremy and Aelita were forced onto the roof by the Xanafied Sissi, who was now trying to drive them to the edge. The building had been remodeled so the sides of the roof were not nearly as steep... but if you fell, you were still a goner. Aelita's face was flushed red, both from her earlier sobbing and the peril of their current situation. As they drew near the edge of the far end... Jeremy tried to take action. He feebly established himself as a shield between Sissi and Aelita. That was his mistake. Sissi grabbed him, and hurled him over her shoulder like an empty cardboard box, as he was sent flying towards the edge of the buidling.
"Jeremy!" Aelita exclaimed as she reached out her hand as if to try and grab him, but he was too far away. Jeremy just managed to grab onto the edge of the roof, and was now clinging there for dear life. Sissi glanced curiously at her, and then, rather than attack her, backed away from her and headed towards Jeremy. Aelita immediately knew what Xana intended. Jeremy would go first.

William leapt off his manta and pointed his sword menacingly at Odd. Although there was no way to deactivate the tower, he'd still have some fun killing this scrawny weakling. Odd backed off slowly. He knew that he had little chance against William at this point... and even if he won the battle, Xana had won the war. A moment before he intended to rush Odd, William heard a whizzing sound and felt something hit his back. It was a blunt blow, and it was very light, as if someone had thrown a baseball at him gently. He then realized whatever had hit him was stuck to his back. He reached to try and remove it, but it was in a spot he could reach, especially with his less flexible mechanical arm. He turned around in an effort to remove it, and Odd saw it was a device... jet white and about the size of a smoke detector. A series of red lights ran around it's rim, which were quickly lighting up in a clockwise pattern. A beeping sound became audiable to Odd's cat like hearing. William cried out in shock and fear as soon as he realized what the device was, but it was too late. The last red light lit up, and a loud buzzing sound played. A moment later, the device exploded in a huge burst of fire and smoke.
"That was too easy!" Odd heard a childish voice from behind on top of one of the rock formations, and glanced up at the voice's owner. The girl was small, with silver pigtails tied with orange ribbons. She was wearing black shorts with orange boots. She was wearing a black turtleneck with an orange vest over it. The vest was glasped in place by a blue flower buckle. He hands were wrapped in bandages, and she bounced playfully in one hand a device identical to the one that had just blown William away. She leapt down agilely towards the ground and landed with a small thud, and then ran towards the tower and Odd.
"Thanks! You just saved my bacon!" Odd tired to talk to her. "And you are?" He asked as he walked alongside her towards the tower, feeling a sudden attraction to the girl... the same sudden attraction he felt to all girls.
"Rio." She replied simply.
"That's a nice name... I'm..." Odd tried to introduce himself, but she raised a hand to slience him.
"Let's save the introductions for later, okay Frakenkitty? I've got work to do." She told him as she phased into the tower. Odd paused for a moment.
"Frakenkitty?" He muttered as he looked at himself. He then grinned. She was cute... he'd have to ask her out some time. Rio rose through the tower just like everyone else, the platform lighting up as she set foot on it...

Sissi's foot came down on Jeremy's hands, which were struggling to prevent a fall to his death. Jeremy cried out in pain as he felt the shoe grinding on his knuckles with considerable force. Aelita saw all of this... and the rest was a blur. She didn't know why she did it... or how... or even giving her body the orders to move. It just did. Her green eyes turned the fierce yellow of the blade children. In a matter of seconds, she had crossed the rooftop to where Sissi was standing, and shoved her out into empty space off the side of the building as Aelita grabbed Jeremy's hand and pulled him up almost effortlessly in a single motion. The eyes dissapeared as quickly as they had come, her eyes fading out before Sissi was half-way to the ground...

Rio pressed her hand to the window.

Rio... CODE...

SPIRAL

As always... the windows that made up the walls of the tower began to spin and spin until the whole tower was ripped apart and exploded on the outside. Back in the real world... the specter which had been possessing Sissi dissapeared as soon as the code had been entered. Without the specter to protect her from the impact... the real Sissi never regained conciousness before she hit the ground. Jeremy and Aelita both gasped for breath, relieved the relentless chase was finally over. Aelita was still in shock as to what she had actually done. On Lyoko, Rio took a step out of the empty land where the tower once stood. Odd walked towards her.
"That was cool!!!" He exclaimed. "How'd you do that?"
"It comes natural." Rio said in a braggish tone.
"Might I reward thee with a kiss?" Odd adopted a horrible Shakespearean accent for a moment as he bowed gracefully towards her. Rio looked at him strangely for a few seconds, and then smiled.
"Why not?" She said with a shrug as she stepped closer to Odd. "What's your name again?"
"Odd. Odd Della Robia..." He said as he closed his eyes and puckered his lips. An instant later, he felt something press against his chest, and Rio stepped away from him quickly.
"Well, goodbye, Odd Della Robia. I just don't think you're my type!" She shouted as she made a hillarious childish face at him. Odd glanced down at his chest to see another one of Rio's time-bombs attached to his chest.
"Oh, come on!" Was all Odd had time to say before it exploded and he was devirtualized, as Rio laughed hysterically. Eyes glared at his monitor back at the flatt watching all of this with moderate dissaproval. Odd crawled out of the scanner on his hands and knees, lying on his back on the scanner room floor.
"She does have that certain... flair..." He muttered to himself as he blushed. Upstairs, Ulrich was looking over Ayumu's shoulder as Ayumu readied the return to the past.
"Well... I guess this is certainly one way to get to know eachother." Ulrich muttered.
"One question..." Ayumu said. "Is William really that good, or do I just suck?" He asked, referring to his one hit de-virtualization at William's hands.
"I dunno..." Ulrich waved his hand. "A little of both maybe?" Ayumu looked at him sarcastically.
"Well that's reassuring. Return to the past now." Ayumu pressed the enter key.

The morning of the return, everyone awoke to a massive commotion. Jeremy only had to step out of his room to hear what had happened... the story had spread like a viruse. Sissi was found dead in her room. He realized what must have happened. Without the specter shielding her from the impact, the fall Sissi had taken must have killed her... and the return had carried her motionless body back to her room. Therefore, as with Jim, the police examination of her body would reveal massive impact trauma as the cause of death... and Sissi's death would immediately be connected to Jim's. It was only a matter of time until lines were drawn back to them. He made a bolt for the factory as he pondered the way out of this situation. He didn't want to be around when his father arrived to investiage.

Kosuke lay in bed in his room, having heard about Sissi as well. He sighed.
"Ding, dong, the witch is dead." He said as he rolled over to stare at his wall. "Maybe now I can finally get some peace..." Ryoko, who was sitting in the chair in his room, glared at him menacingly.
"How can you possibly say that?!?!" She yelled at him. "I know she drove you crazy, but she didn't deserve to die!"
"Once you've killed enough people, you kinda get de-sensitized to death." Kouske told her emotionlessly. Ryoko groaned and started at the floor, thinking intently.
"Why do we keep doing this, Kosuke?" She muttered. "How many innocent people are going to get caught up in this war? Why are we even fighting back? If we weren't around... Xana and the hunters wouldn't be trying to kill us, and no one else would get hurt... right?" Kouske looked at her with an undescribable look on his face.
"I dunno Ryoko..." He said, before continuing, "After all... I'm just a stupid dumb-a** baka..." Ryoko kicked him in the chest as she stood up, and Kouske winced.
"Keep up this attitude and I'll be adding a lot more expletives to that title!!!" She yelled before marching towards the door... but she stopped in the door frame. "Kouske... I've already told Eyes what you did. He's not happy."
"I figured as much." Kouske replied. "I'm gonna catch some serious hell for this."
"Eyes doesn't give us orders for no reason. Remember that the next time you ignore him." Ryoko said as she walked out.

Aelita learned of Sissi at roughly the same time. But her reaction was rather different. She returned to her room and locked herself in. It was her. She hadn't thought of it at the time... she hadn't been thinking at all when she'd done it. But SHE had killed Sissi. She had been the one to push Sissi off that roof. She leaned against her locked door, crying. She had killed someone. She couldn't believe it. She couldn't accept it. It just couldn't be. But there was something else bothering her even more... all the thing's Kouske had told her just made thing's worse. Her father was a killer. And now she was a killer. Killing Sissi had been instinctive. Could it be that it was in her blood? Was it all true? Was she one of the blade children... and as such doomed to a life of killing people? She continued to cry for some time... with no clue of what to do. She remembered staring at that empty box... and hearing that disturbing voice over the phone.
"I believe your future is inside." And inside... she had never felt more empty.

Code SPRIAL 15 - created human... END.

Episode Notes!!!

1. Upon review of previous episodes, I realized, "Holy KRAP! I forgot all about WILLIAM!!!" So... I devised this highly bizzare past-plot-twist involving Ulrich actually cutting off William's arm and couging out his eye... leading to both William's long absence and his new "mecha" upgrade.

2. When William first appears in front of Ulrich and Odd, he says... "Mr. Stern... welcome back. WE missed you..." This is an homage to "The Matrix Revolutions", where Agent Smith says a simliar line to Neo. But instead of "WE" referring to the numerous Smith-clones, it refers to both William and Xana, who were speaking as a single entity.

3. William's "after-image" used to fool Odd is sort of a copy of Aelita's "creativity" ability. Several times, Aelita used it to create a stationary clone of herself to act as decoys. Since he seems to be copying all the other abilities of the characters, this sort of makes sense that he could do it, especially after his upgrades.

4. Rio's "time-bombs" are unique. They are the most powerful Lyoko weapon, with a damage rate of about 200. (Megatanks and Lyoko warriors only have a 100 LP) However, she only has three each time she's virtualized, and unlike Odd's arrows, they can't be reloaded from the supercomputer terminal. Although not seen in this episode, she also has four "impact grenades", which explode on contact, and do about 80 damage. These too, cannot be reloaded. Naturally, however, it is difficult to use either of these weapons on fast small targets like Kankralots, or fast moving one's like Hornets.

5. Yes... I do sense an Odd-Rio pairing coming. I'm not sure how far it'll get, starting this late in the story, but I think it could prove amusing. If you have issues with this idea, shut up.

6. Yeah... I finally killed Sissi. *holds up cue card for "Applause"* Still... I thought it was a cool twist to have Aelita kill Sissi instead of a more in-character killer like Kouske. As you can see from the ending, it was really traumatic for Aelita... and that's going to be very important for the rest of the story.

Sometime soon. I've already made a lot of headway on it. It's about half done, but I should have a lot of writing time in the near future.
