1. Mischievous_pixie (don't really like my real name) [19]
2. introductory, I only recognise some words from anime and songs
3. Gaia messages, maybe lateron msn?
4. Pacific standart time...? gawd... what is that again.
Ah, here I found it (well, the time of new york) Guess it's six hours later here in the netherlands than in america, so I'm online each day from about 1 o'clock (night) until 5 o'clock.
It'd be easier to have a teacher in europe...

I want a teacher because I don't understand most of the threads here, I'm the newest a rookie can be. So a lot of explanations.
I don't have the subject at school, that's not even possible.
I thought I'd start by trying to translate songlyrics, so that after a while I'll recognise words and the way they are written (plus it's fun). (don't know if that's a good way to start)
Because I'm so new to this I don't think you're going to have that much work on me, cos I have to learn everything you've learned ages ago.
Give me simple sentences to translate <3.

(just a note, I'm not yet interested in learning the kanji)

Name: Weiss kitsune

Level: Beginner. I've taken one quarter of classes at the local college. Know kana.

Communication: Gaia mail

Time: My free time is between 5pm and 10pm pst on weekdays and 9am to 10pm pst on weekends.

I basically just need some direction, someone to tell me what to learn and when. A class would be perfect for that but at the moment I can't get into one because day classes are full and night classes keep getting cancelled.

The Not So Doomed Account

PostPosted: Sun Sep 21, 2008 8:31 am

はじめまして、Seffyです。どうぞ よろしく おねがいします。
Hajimimashite, Seffy desu. douzo yoroshiku o-negaishimasu.

I'm not a hundred percent sure whether I wrote the previous sentence correctly or not, but it should be something along those lines.

I'm Seffy, or Doomed or Andreas - whichever you feel comfortable calling me with. I'm currently taking introductionary japanese lessons in real life at a local university, and I feel that while the teacher there is very compitent and knowledgable I need another source of knowledge of the Japanese language to tap from to properly learn it. I need someone to bounce grammar back and forth with, someone to inspire me to do better; someone to tell me when I'm doing wrong and correct me. I don't expect this someone to be perfect because in reality, no one is - not even me. :_D

We're [University, in the] using a book called "Japanese for Everyone" (ジャパニーズ・フォ・エブリワン) which I think is published by a company called Gakken (or something) - (Sidenote: Writing that in... katakana took me a damn long while. Dx).
We've only had four lessons so far, so we've only talked about the most basic of basic grammar and hiragana. I can recognise most hiragana, but I have some trouble recognising some of the more... tricky ones.

And now, a bit about me. I was named Andreas by my parents when I was born way, way back in the distant year of 1986 - which makes me 21 years of age. Despite what you might assume from reading this (refering to my AWESOME knowledge of the English language), I was born, raised and still live in Sweden, and have Swedish as my first/native language.

I am quite friendly, I assure you, and I do not display elitist tendancies (unless I am trying to make a point, or I am being sarcastic) - so don't be afraid to take me on as your pupil! Hells, feel free to just plain add me if you want a friend. O_:

(Fair warning: I overly use hard to disypher emoticons when speaking on IMs)

Name: Seffy / Doomed / Andreas.
Japanese Knowledge Level: Introductionary.
Preffered Means of Communication: Any of my IMs (MSN, Yahoo; and ICQ), over Gaia; IRC, or voice chat (Skype/Teamspeak/etc etc.).
Times Available: Interchangable. I've got a pretty rocky schedule (and very unstable sleeping pattern), but I'm usually free and online most of the time. Usually from 7 or 9 am CET to 10 or 12 pm CET. (CET = GMT +1)
