It takes a moment for Melete to realize exactly what that means, and when she does, her cheeks could blend into her shirt. "Oh no, not like that! I'm just saying... I admire what he can do. Like, someone I should look up to."
How anyone could misinterpret THAT was beyond her. @_@

After talking a long sip, Mel looks up surprisedly, as she shows her first genuine smile in weeks.

"I'm glad," Junyi answers, smiling gently in return. "Now if you'll excuse me; I have to make a phone call; I'm supposed to be meeting Commander Haladet at a party, and I'm not really sure what I'm supposed to wear." A pause.
"...She also said she wanted to speak with you; maybe you should seek her out?"

That was a surprise. Why would someone like Commander Haladet wish to speak with her?
"With me? I don't know why... and I'm not really dressed for a party either." Extravagance every day was pointless, but going to a special occasion in normal attire would suggest that the occasion was less than special, and that too was disrespectful.

Junyi glances around quickly, and finally opens the register, pulling out a few bills and leaning over the counter. "Here," she murmurs. "Maybe it'd do you well to go... and maybe dress up a bit. It sounds like it'll be a lot of fun, and it might be good for you to get out a bit, from what I understand."
She smiles cheerfully. "Don't tell anyone about this, though."

It seemed like someone REALLY wanted her there. If that was the case, she couldn't exactly refuse, could she? Besides, a little party might not be too bad...
