Ruby almost fell backwards as the taller girl embraced her. She smiled and patted Laurel's back. "Sug, sug, it's all right, it wasn't your fault any. That breakup was long in comin', don't you worry none, sug."

A.C. the nurse raised her eyebrows. "Well. I can see the idea of a breakup is going to be hard on you, dear. But if you ever think about going back to him, you just remember what he did to you!" she shook a finger at Ruby. "AIDS is a deadly disease, Ms. Ruby, an' don't you forget it! He doesn't deserve to live, much less have you, if he does things like that. You ever need a shoulder to cry on, you come to one of us nurses anytime you please, ya hear? "Ah, thank you sugar," Ruby let a tear trail out of her eye. "That's ever so good of you, but don't bother hatin' the angel, he may be a lyin' evil hearted b*****d," Ruby let out a soft sigh, "but you have to admit those wings....those beautiful wings...."
She wiped away another tear. "An I bought the pretty red lacy thing from Victoria's secret....ah well, I prob'ly bought it more for my cousin than him anyway."
