I wonder if he'll be trying to teach Physics again. "Physics! Physics physics physics..." Can you imagine having him for a teacher?
Perhaps he doesn't even lose the TARDIS. Something just happens and he decides he's had it up to here with traveling. Seems like he's started getting a bit tired of it. Just think about the music that they've been having on Christmas specials. "Song For Ten" is about him having this ordinary normal Christmas with Rose, "Love Don't Roam" is about a traveler who falls in love and just wants to stop wandering around and being lonely... and there's all sorts of other things. That message Nine left for Rose in "Parting of the Ways", he said something about living an ordinary life is really an adventure...
So maybe the TARDIS doesn't break. He just purposely quits traveling for a bit.

I can see him as my science teacher, obviously, but even showing in that Comic Relief sketch, an English teacher would be really cool too! xd ....But the Doctor not being the Doctor? That's just so....un-Doctor-like..... >.< for him to settle down, even temporarily...that's..not really like him..I can't see him doing that and being content, if that's the word..

Maybe that's the thing....He finally decides to try living the normal life, & the story shows how it just doesn't work for him.

Human Nature and The Family of Blood by Paul Cornell To be broadcast 19th and 26th May 2007 Director - Charles Palmer Cast - Jessica Stevenson (Jean Redfern), Tom Sangster (Tim Latimer), Harry Lloyd (Jeremy Baines), Tom Palmer (Hutchinson), Pip Torrens (Rocastle), Rebekah Staten (Jenny), Gerard Horan (Clark), Lauren Wilson (Lucy Cartwright), Matthew White (Phillips) Synopsis - After years as the last of the Time Lords, the Doctor gives it up to settle down as a normal person, an adaptation of Paul Cornell's Human Nature Monsters - The Aubertides were the villains in the book, but are not confirmed for the episodes. Human Nature eBook - Set Pre-World War 1 - His episodes contain the words "Tango", "Jenny" and "Gun" - Freema Agyeman has said this is the scariest story, and that it features “ugly scarecrows”. David Tennant could have also been referencing this story when he talked of “Jack Straws at Christmas” - RTD says that Human Nature is a much closer adaption of the source material than Dalek was to Jubilee - “A very adult examination of The Doctor’s character…what your doing is taking the doctor out. The arrival of the aliens is genuinely disturbing. It takes you a while to realise it’s because every other time The Doctor is there, so you’ve got a great big safety net.” - RTD
Well thats the full article. For that epi, anyway. I never got around to reading that book, shame, I will eventually... But yeah, I'm definitely glad its only temporary... He was kind of cracking in the Christmas special. Maybe we get to see more of that, haha.
But I think you're right, maybe he tries to settle down, but realises its not for him. Bit odd though, you'd think if he was going to settle down it wouldn't be pre WW 1. Everything is a litte to... ... not... ... forwards... if you get me...

i think that the beeb are going to put a serious stop on the broadcasting of programmes on youtube soon, other companies have already started procedures against them to stop youtube allowing people to upload ripped tv and film programmes, and the beeb now have their 'own' channel, so I don't think that the Who watching happiness will last much longer on there.

Ah. The sucky thing is that it's the only way to see stories of the show in some places (i.e. America) unless someone can get BBC America. It's very hard to find and very hard to see stories when not endowed with a lot of money. [Or Sci-Fi, which we'd have to pay more to get now cry ]

It's crappy since I'm going to be TVless when it airs on CBC, stupid summer camp job, stupid rent forcing me to make money...
Maybe I'll be able to catch the first few episodes on the tube at least. If I'm lucky.

Gahhh domokun If it weren't for piracy, I wouldn't have seen firefly. Or the Christmas special. Or.... Sometimes people just have to lighten up. Look on the bright side. CDs are shiny.

[Or Sci-Fi, which we'd have to pay more to get now cry ] well, there are other ways of getting the eps after they've been aired... I did it myself, not having a digital recorder for telly, I erm... did the erm... thing... you know,... t o r r e n t s .... but i still bought the box set the day it came out, and I did watch all the eps on terrestrial first, so it wasn't really piracy as such... but I do know what you mean, it can be a real drag not being able to watchyour fave shows.(I'm just glad I'm not hooked on Lost at the moment cause of the whole Sky trouble going on)
