The Things I Remember are More Real than the Things I See...
Mrr, it's been a loooong time since I updated. I see lots of new faces in the avatar edit collection subforum, and some of them have already overtaken my number of edits! Once upon a time, I ranked second to Emi in terms of most edits. Now I don't even know where I stand. My hat's off to all my fellow avid avatar edit collectors out there <3.
In looking at this avatar edit collection, I am struck by how much I have changed over the time I've been on Gaia. I am no longer that black-pigtailed, golden-eyed girl that initially set foot on this site and sold donation letters to Ian for 1,000g each (and I felt oh-so-rich back then). I am no longer that girl who thinks the shift key is overrated and would use emoticons in place of punctuation marks. The obssessive-compulsive in me wants to go through my collection threads here on Gaia and fix these little formatting preferences. It must be a leftover of my copy-editor days. But I decided against it. These stylistic errors that I now see signify delightful times that I have spent here on Gaia.
Now I am a grombie who likes to pile on teh shineys. I stubbornly cling to the term "donation items." I don't even resemble the face in my avatar edits anymore. The distinctive and disturbing red eyes are not there anymore, and neither are the "old-school" hairstyles. I look at the minishops forum and other avatar edit collection threads, and I see new avatar edit artists. I see avatar edit shops that have closed down before I got the chance to raid them. Now I lurk the forums and get my chuckles from the new members of Gaia.
I've been putting up as many edits as I can at one time. I used to space them out so that I just upload one order per day. Now I'm not sure when teh attack of teh lazies will strike again, making me disappear for long periods of time... might as well show off the edits as fast as I can upload them to Photobucket!
And I'll stop my rambling here for now.
