Aoki could hardly believe that the man who had interupted the hatching had the nerve to come back and start trouble again. She watched as K'elt and Tolara take care of him. Aoki stood there as Garanth edged up behind his rider.
She knew there wasn't much that she could do but stand by and wait to see if she'd be of any help. As other riders joined them, the man realized he was outnumbered and quickly left the hatching grounds.
Aoki grinned as K'elt abruptly switched gears and went from bronze rider to suave ladies man. Tolara didn't seem comfortable around all the people and quickly made her excuses and left. Aoki's heart went out to her. She knew how much it hurt to lose someone you were close to and only hoped that there was someone to help her through it.
Putting such thoughts away for a better time to think of them, Aoki slipped her arm through K'elt's, "Always the gentleman... this is oddly familiar. You leading me off and our friend asleep nearby. Come on... I'll go wake sleeping beauty over there and send him off to his weyr if he's not going to come with us."
She pulled her arm away from K'elt's and walked over to where G'dor was curled up asleep. Aoki chuckled and gently shook the sleeping bronze rider, "G'dor? Come on... wake up. The hatching's over and you missed all the excitment."

Nevaeh listened contently to the blue rider who was introduced to them as R'ign also known as the weyrlingmaster. As R'ign spoke one fraze caught her attention "The six of you". Looking around Nevaeh began to count the pairs and counted eight pairs not six. When R'ign asked if anyone had any questions Nevaeh raised her hand not sure wether or not to go ahead and speak.
Go ahead and speak Mine. She won't hurt you. Nevaeh looked down to Javareth at her feet.
Are you sure it's alright Mine? Javareth looked up Nevaeh and nodded his eyes drooping.
"Uh ma'am." Nevaeh said trying to get R'ign's attention. "You said six of us but I count eight. Are you sure?" Nevaeh asked waiting to see if she had been mistaken on something.

On second thought, he did not feel sorry for him...who would not want to wake up to two such lovely ladies.... Uhmmm, those are pretty....interesting thoughts, but you better keep it PG-13, eh? *Party pooper....* (Don't you just hate it when your dragon tattles on you? sweatdrop )

Kirana turned, looking at the older rider who had addressed them. She yawned as Tithenth rested her large head against her riders' side, halflidding her heavy eyes as the two of them listened to the Weyrlingmasters' speech.

R'dan noticed that a rider was gesturing for them to all gather about her and he gently shook Amlaith, who was about to fall asleep. He helped his lifemate up and the pair joined their fellow weyrlings around the bluerider. He paid close attention to what R'ign had to say, one arm draped across his green's neck. With no questions, he followed several of the weyrlings towards the Candidate Barracks to gather his stuff.

G'dor jumped as he was shaken, poked, proded, and pulled at. His sleepy eyes looked about as if he had forgotten where he was- for a time he had. Will was just as confused, looking around to each of the strangers around him and his warm little nook of a lap. G'dor just couldn't seem to keep it together, a hand rose to his eyes and rubbed at both of them, his fingers rubbing at one eye as his thumb reached over his nose and rubbed at the other. His voice was lost in a yawn but it was clear enough that he was announcing that he was awake. He sat himself up, blinking repeatidly to get the blur of sleep from them. Plotches of colors soon became fuzzy faces looking at him, and the fuzzy faces became the faces of his friends. "Urhgn...." He groaned, streching his arms over his head.
"I missed it all? Ho....how did it go?" Not that he really cared all that much. He didn't mean not to care in the wrong way- if there was a wrong way not to care... it just didn't concern him and it probibly wouldn't effect his day to day life. He had accomplished his goal in coming to the hatching and he didn't have to stay awake to inform anyone of the events. Still he might as well ask... nothing was wroing with knowing.

K'elt smiled. "Well, let's see. You missed some damn fool try to interrupt the hatching to drag his sister off of the sands. You missed that Glith was ready to eat said fool. You missed the hatching of several browns, blues, greens, and twin gold queens. Yep, two queens, one egg. I gather that no-one had ever heard of such a thing, either. Other than that, pretty normal day around Fort Weyr...So, let's go to the party and try to put the other events of the day behind us." K'elt, for one, felt he would love to be able to do that...but doubted that he could.

"I think that's a good idea... one of the best I've heard today." Aoki added softly.
She'd never really been one to mourn. Two people in their weyr had died already and she'd been sad as had the others but she didn't quite feel the pain that everyone did. Maybe the loss of her family had numbed her to death, but she hadn't felt the overwhelming urge to get drunk or anything like many of the other riders.
So as her friends did so tonight, she'd watch over them and make sure they were okay. Aoki was never one who was able to tolerate much alcohol anyway.
She giggled as G'dor groaned and rubbed his eyes as he woke up. Satisfied that he was awake enough, she walked towards K'elt and slung an arm around his shoulder, "Ah familiarity... from the hatching grounds to the party."
Aoki stretched her other arm out to the side, "Come on G'dor! For tradition sake?"

"Only you would sleep through such and exciting hatching." Gail sighed playfully. "Come on come on, as I said before while you were so valiently ignoring me, Benden wine and succulent wherry meat for all. It's not like they starve us here or anything, but this is an occasion... Plus," She added as an afterthought, "we'll want to be present if anything else does go wrong. I just don't think the poor weyrwoman is up to anymore excitement." She held out a hand to help haul him to his feet.

So the small group set off for the dinning hall to celebrate (with varying degrees of enthusiasm). ((Off to the main Fort thread! Hope you all do not mind if I haul you over with me?))
