((Nevermind. Answered.))

The sphere of fire rained down on the UGH as the one with the rifle returned fire at the bishop, incinerating them to a crisp. The last of the UGH soldiers had been wiped out of the area.

Flare, unlike the shade archers, was unphased by the explosion beneath her. She held her position, taking aim at one of the enemies closest to Hakan, and threw a fireball. It was aimed at his torso, though Flare's aim was far from infallible at this point.

She ducked down, and prayed to the gods she didn't believe in that the fortress would hold.

The bishop took it right through the eye before he fell to the ground. Too slow.

Shade numbers:
5 Archers.
3 in fort.
2 in the open with swords.
3 with swords and sheilds charging
1 leader
1 ice bishop

Moving as quitely as they could, Kami and the shades moved into the ruins. It sounded like the fighting was beginning to die down after that last round of explosions, but you couldn't be too careful. He led them all on a meandering sort of path towards the fort. A pair of tiny, people shaped peices of paper fell out of Kami's sleeve and began moving around on their own, running ahead of him to peek around corners in case anyone was waiting in ambush.

(( Sorry, busy with many things. ))

The Crimson One
The axe slammed into Hakan's arm before he gould get the blade out to block, and that blade dropped. the arm was still there, luckily, but with a cut like that he wouldn't be shooting for a while.

Meanwhile, his other blade managed to block the machete in time, allowing Hakan to quickly try to slash at the man. But really, if he couldn't, Hakan was just going to do his best to defend. He couldn't die yet. He wouldn't let himself. He wouldn't...

The man pulled the hatchet from the wound, grasping onto the arm as he reared it back behind his head for another strike.

The one who's strike had been blocked lost his footing when the mortar shell hit, stumbling back for a moment and falling to the ground. He quickly regained his feet, but not before-

Flare's fireball crashed into the back of the man who had raised his hatchet. The blast struck full force, but was more than a single man could handle... some of the flames would wash over him, even if his body did take the brunt of it. Whateve was left of the flaming corpse would crash into Haken.

The 5 men took up a firing line position, getting off as many shots as they could while the shade troops doubled back on them. When they came too close, the men met their charge with one of their own; using the butts and barrels of the weapons as bludgeoning instruments to block blades and knock down their enemies if they could.

They were not the best swordsmen in the land.

"---FLAAARE!!"

His voice echoed out, even as he pushed off the ground, raising the flamberge up and over his head, when something forced him back down to the ground, skidding and eating rock. "Fuc---!"

The bullet fired and meant for his skull had connected with the raised blade, causing him to push forward and crash to the ground unexepctedly. The right side of his face was gashed up, blood seeping as he felt something give in his right eye.

"NnnGRRAAAAAH!" He gave out a roar of pain, even as he tried to keep himself up, using his sword for balance.

"WHAT?!!"

Flare shouted it back from the top of the fortress while charging another fireball. She took a glance at his situation and sighed. What the ******** was he doing out there?

Hakan screamed, with the burning man falling on top of him. and, impulsively, shoved it towards the nearest person, who happened to be the other goon.

Hakan then quickly dropped and rolled to the side, partially to put more distance between them, and partially to put out any flames. He got some dirt into his hurt arm, but...neh. Sacrifices for survival, he ******** hell, ow...I'm an archer dammit, I shouldn't be in the front lines..."

His arguments obviously didn't mean much.

The monk and his shades seemed to be making it through without incident. They made their way to just outside the hectic situation in front of a fort, only a half-ruined building between them and the combat now. Pausing again, Kami noted he had enough metal reflection wards for the moment, and ordered his shikigami to start working on fire reflection instead. Given the amount of explosions in the area, it seemed the wise decision. He peeked around the corner and used his mental hacking into the Shade's subconcious to let the forces inside the fort know he had arrived. Hopefully that would be enough to notify everyone, and they wouldn't throw big balls of flaming death at his head.

Things keep happening

The two rolling shades, seemingly safe, returned to the "gate" to guard it.

The five remaining archers were once again in position.

The three inside the fort were climing up the makeshift inside to get to the roof.

The armoured shade, while he wouldn't get there in time to save Haken from getting hurt, the shade would arvie in time to swat some dudes with his axe. If they the miners were lucky they would get the flat end.

The miners wouldn't be lucky.

The shades with sheilds found them very useful, protecting themselves from a good deal of the barrage. One goon would get a lucky shot, felling a shade with a shot to the leg causing a stumble, followed by a shot through the eye.
The sheilds would once again come in handy in melee combat. Gun butts would bounce off, and then swords would go through guts.

Those guys got ******** owned. They really shouldn't go into melee without training...

There was one guy left.

He managed to get out of the way as the flaming corpse of his compatriot rolled downhill. With an angry surge, the man made one last dive with his machette in an overhand chop.

Moments later he would be hurled sidelong into a nearby piece of the ruins... in two pieces.

There were none left.

((More or less.))

(( Seems that way.))

And with that, things mostly went quiet. Kami blinked a couple times, then took a quick drink from his gourd. He needed the energy after all that walking. He led his retinue of five shades out into the open and approached the fort. The area was a complete mess, with bodies littering the scattered craters and smoking debree everywhere. Kami sighed and sent a signal for the Rooks following him to start looting for anything useful. However, not wanting to utterly disrespect the dead, he held his hand up in prayer for those who had fallen. "Namu Amida Butsu."

Looking to the side he noticed the lone man, who was obviously in no small amount of pain, supporting himself with his sword. "Huh, that guy looks familiar..."

Ears still ringing and blood coating a good portion of the right side of his face, he was more than put out currently.

He was right damned pissed about now.

And the veins bulging around his neck sure didn't say otherwise. The flamberge was hefted up wards with his right arm, the weight supported alone. Black flames spiraled along it's surface even as more seeped off his face, twisting and shaping itself into an ethereal horn above his right eye, was was shut tight at the moment.

Onoes, berserker rage!

And the only thing around him to pay attention to was the building where all the fighting was centered...
