"I'll grant you that, just be careful though, Shin. After so long, one's prone to make bigger mistakes as well." If Sun had been more aware, he might have started to worry again. He'd just fed someone that was starving, did he really plan on taking that away as soon as Vahn returned?

That was kind of asking for the place to go up in an explosion. But seriously, no one should be left that long without some kind of compassion, and Sun really wasn't built to resist this kind of attention from a person. Call it a fault, or a weakness, it was just part of who he was.

He blinked a few times. "Diyuna?"

Shin's face went beat red, as the word was repeated back to him. He hadn't realized it had slipped out. He coughed slightly and grinned boyishly.

"It uhh... means dear."

What could the elf do? He was a hopeless romantic, there was no denying it.

Sunstrike laughed, practically curling around himself to do so. "Go to sleep, Shin, before Aiysin comes in and tells us we have to work. I don't wanna look like the undead when I have to talk to whoever she wants me to talk to."

He wriggled himself up against the warmer body and yawned again.

"I'll forget what I have to say, or worse, say something I'm not supposed to."

"Then I'll just have to occupy your lips and save you from yourself!~"

He teased, pressing a deep kiss to Sun's lips before he could protest. Drawing back with a grin from ear to ear, he wiggled his eye brows playfully.

"G'night!~"

And with that he flopped over on his side, snickering and pulling Sun tight against him, as he spooned against the salamander's back, his breath warm against Sun's neck and shoulders.

Sunstrikes cheeks burned.

"Damnit..."There were probably more cursewords but he was too tired to mutter more then that. If he'd been healthier, Shin's a** would have been sore in the morning...

As it was he just sighed and relaxed against the person holding him in the darkness, glad for the company, worried about his real lover, and wondering if he'd be able to hold off any real advances Shin made without destroying what little soul the elf had left.

Sun wondered finally, before sleep took him, if he'd dug his grave deep enough, or if he'd end up digging it all the way through gaia itself.

Songbirds greeted the elf's highly sensitive ears as the first rays of sun began to break over the horizon, filtering through the curtains in muted shades of gold and orange.

So warm-- He nuzzled into that warmth and hugged it close as he stirred awake. Eyes opening lazily his face made a sort if O_O! expression before he remembered who he held in his arms. He had truly thought he'd been dreaming and that when he opened his eyes to the day, it would be dark and sunless.

But there he was, sleeping soundly, nestled in his arms, his chest rising and falling steadily. His soft breaths stirring the silken red strands of hair that framed his sleepy face. Shin looked down at the sleeping salamander, so pale, so perfect. He was beautiful like this. Truly beautiful, and almost-- innocent. Even if Shin knew better, that was the word that described how his pain free face looked.

He was careful not to stir and wake him, Shin was an early riser. But he had no reason to leave the bed, to leave this warmth... to wake up Sun and shatter that peaceful face.

No. He would let the other man sleep for a while longer.

Laying his head between Sun's shoulders, he pressed his forehead to his back and breathed in the spicy scent of cinnamon.

Sunstrike made a soft sound in his sleep, and turned over just as Shin started to get comfortable against his back. The sun design along his upper bicept moved as his arms wrapped around Shin's thinner form, around the ribs, and yanked him closer. A leg slid with silent ease, trapping itself between the elf's and the covers and stretching the fabric tight over the salamanders lower body.

Sun wasn't completely awake yet, not even partially for that matter, but his body reacted to the touch like it had it's own idea about what should happen. Maybe it was memory that triggered it, but Shin would find Sun pressed up against him, rubbing a hand against the bare lower back.

"S'too early for that...go back to sleep..." The words helped the theory of a memory mixed with dream, Shin getting the best, or the worst, of it as Sun moved.

"Mmmf!"

Shin's eyes widened as he suddenly found himself somewhat pinned. Sun's leg had slid between his thighs just above his knees, and pressed him firmly against the matress, Sun's arms held his body tight against his nakedness, bathing him in heat as his cheeks flushed and he stammered softly, the blankets pulled tight about them in a cocoon of warmth.

As Sun spoke, his words thick with sleep, He smiled and pressed a gentle kiss to his forehead and then one to his lips, lingering for a moment, before nuzzling into the smooth bend of Sun's neck.

It wasn't Shin that Sun was talking to or dreaming of... That might have bothered him later, but for now it was fine.

Sun murmured against the kiss and sighed happily when Shin nuzzled in, all of last nights embarassment seemingly forgotten with the mornings warmth. He started to pull gently away from his deep slumber, locked in someones warm arms and body.

At first, of course, he thought he was with Vahn...in Strata, no less. Then the aches and pains took hold, and he made a not so happy sound that could have been a sleepy curse. What had they been doing that he was as roughed up as this?

He cracked open an eye, squeezing the snuggled person against him, chin against the top of a head and took a puzzled look at a room he didn't recognize.

Eh?

The other eye opened slowly and he took stock, and as realization crept into his mind, his body began to stifen against Shin's form, recognition finally coming to rest solidly at the front of his mind.

"Shin..." He said it as if half dreading that there would be a responce.

Shin sighed, his breath warm against Sun's back as he stiffened. Shin's arms went from being soft and loving to rigid before he pulled away-- or tried to. Sun still had him pinned. Shin didn't totally turn to ice, but a faint trace of arrogance began creeping into his features as he prepared to recall that stony mask.

"I didn't do anything to you while you were asleep if that's what you're worried about..."

He tried for teasing, but there was a faint undertone of hurt.

Sun didn't move, even when Shin tried and failed to move away. He was still affected by sleep, and the bruises he'd sustained yesterday. His leg would probably look a right mess after having been restitched as well. Sun hissed out a breath lightly in pain when the other man moved against him, brushing said mess of a leg.

"No, no...don't move for a second." He blinked rapidly and tried to think through it all again.

"M'not worried about you doing something like that, else...I wouldn't have asked you to stay. If anything I ended up doing this to you." Sun flushed, there wasn't any real way to lie when your naked and pressed up against someone that was attractive.

Finally he braced one arm out on the bed and half levered himself off of Shin, shivering with more then just morning cold, and collapsing with a painfilled sound against the pillows to one side.

Shin flushed brightly as his eyes couldn't help but slide along Sun's naked form as he stretched himself out and up to roll off the elf. But his embarassment was quickly chased away by his concern for his companion. Sun was clearly in a good deal of pain. With a sigh, Shin rolled out of the bed and picked his shirt up off the floor. Slipping into the sleeveless top he dug out a warm blanket and came around to kneel beside Sun.

"Just take it easy Sunstrike, I told you... I'll be your strength."

He wrapped the blanket around Sun's naked form and with a small grunt, he'd lift him into his arms, cradeling him securely against his chest.

"I'll be your strength until he comes back for you."

He would smile softly as he began moving towards the door.

"Let's get you fixed up."

Sun made a soft sound of protest at being man...elfhandled like this, but there was really no escaping the fact that he needed something. His leg burned, his arms and back felt like someone had stepped or jumped on him, and the headache began all over again.

He was a pale figure in comparison to the person who'd faced off against Kira or Silver the day before. Maybe it was the sheer distance between him and Vahn. The ties that bound them ran into pretty arcane area's once Sun's eye and power had been torn from him.

What would affect Sun, however, wouldn't be as deeply shattering to Vahn simply because the amber eyed man had a great deal of power all on his own, even without Sunstrike's eye. There was pain, but no weakness. At least that had been all that Vahn admitted to.

The salamander himself would start to feel his own mortality just a little too keenly with it all gone from view. So he leaned his head against one of Shin's shoulders, trying not to feel so awkward. It was usually Sun doing the carrying, and the reverse felt strange but strangely comforting. He didn't say anything to respond about Vahn's returning, because he didn't really know what to say. So he asked a question instead.

"Where are we going, Shin?"

Shin despite being slender for an elf, was fairly well muscled and as his body moved with Sun safe in his arms, the strength that flowed through his limbs would begin to be a little more apparent. His bare feet sounding out in soft pattering noises as he carried him down the hall and began the descent down the winding stair case.

"To the hot springs... there's one reserved for theraputic use. I'll have a healer join us."

Sun's eyes went wide and he gulped slightly.

"S-Shin, the springs might be a good idea, but I dunno bout the healer..." Just ask him! Sunstrike snarled at himself inside and wrapped his arms around his own body. The thought of sharing the springs with Shin was a tempting one, but he couldn't invite the elf everywhere with him...they'd both be up the creek without a paddle if Vahn decided to walk his cute butt into the middle of it all.

A thick piece of black hair spilled it's way down Shin's chest and brushed Sun's arm. Again he found himself relaxing and just playing with the midnight strands, head tucked on a shoulder drowsily.

It was probably best to distract himself then face everything head on, Sun had actually gotten pretty adept at moving pain to one side...it sacrificed a lot of personality, but healing was easier for it.
