CelestialCupcake i love the Green mile, and glad you've finally got to see it 3nodding i don't think i'd want to see Dark Water, i saw the trailers on TV and it looked very disturbing, i wouldn't be able to sleep after watching something like that gonk It wasn't as bad as The Ring. The Ring was the scariest thing I'd ever seen, and I haven't yet seen anything scarier. But I don't like horror movies anyway, so I'm not going to go around recommending Dark Water, but that's just me. blaugh

WickedUmmagine morphingbutterfly the green mile was an awesome movie....loved it so much that we bought it....but i havent ever heard of dark water...can you give me a little insight what it is about? It has the actress lady who plays in Labyrinth and The Hulk, and the prince guy from Ever After. The lady plays the mom and she has a little girl who might be about.. 8? and she got a divorce from the guy I mentioned, and she's planning to move across the river from Manhattan into a building not far from a good school. Then weird stuff starts happening in the building where they move, and it's kind of scary, but interesting, and as I said, shares a lot of themes with The Ring, if you've seen that. yes i have seen the ring...that was one of the creapiest movies...i have not seen it since then...and not so sure i will be seeing part 2 confused ...i can normally handle horror movies...but the ring ranks right up there with the exorcist...it freaks me out... gonk has anyone here seen the movie white noise? is it freaky too? cause we got it the other day and i just havent opened it yet..mainly cause of the kidlets... although my kidlets are very brave...they actually enjoy watching the LOTR eek ...you would think with those orcs there that they wouldnt..but they laugh at them...yes i have strange kids...lol rofl

morphingbutterfly has anyone here seen the movie white noise? is it freaky too? cause we got it the other day and i just havent opened it yet..mainly cause of the kidlets... Oh, I have seen white noise. I forgot I did. It's not really the kind of scary that lingers afterward, like with The Ring, at least for me, but maybe that's because I believe that spirits try to communicate with their loved ones left behind, and I'm not scared by that thought. It does have some 'pop out and scare you' stuff, but lots of movies do. And the end didn't really make sense to me.

I almost forgot that movie. I believe like fawn that their are realms we are not in which may try to reach out *from beyond* I actually ended up getting bored with White Noise to the point I left it running for the kids and went into the office to play on the computer. I am still looking for a good scary movie. I honestly think real life stuff in movies like (older one) "The Deep End of the Ocean" make me ummmm, I don't know, kind of scared when I think about it later, cause (it did) could happen in RL. I guess the lack of movies that scare me would explain why I like funny movies more than any... I know when a movie makes me laugh rofl

I just got done with a couple I had never seen that ran on Turner tonight.
"Fools Rush In": (I suspect was made for TV) had Matthew Perry and Selma Hayak, but the best part (for me were all the good shots of Las Vegas although I could stand alot less of the 'on top of Boulder Dam as it turns out my fear of heights applies to movies, as well rolleyes
"Stepmom": had Julia Roberts and I had always kind of meant to see this movie, and it was actually even better than I expected. Problem with both of them was that after the second or third watering of the eyes in the second movie, I had to complain to Cricket_Marie that it was another darn tearjerker.

roocee Lizzy, I watched those last night as well!!! I can't believe we were watching the same thing..... rofl The funnier part is while I was writing about them, there was a movie on called "Sweet November" I had never seen before. As I watched it longer and longer, I finally could not handle the curiousity and checked, sure enough the actor who played the little boy Abner in Sweet November was the same actor who played Ben in Stepmom... The three movies were starting to remind me of those 'connection sequence' games people like to play with TV shows... except thiswould have gone something like: Fools Rush In and Stepmom both made me cry, Stepmom and Sweet November both had Liam Aiken in them... rofl

We went to see Memoirs of a Geisha tonight. It was excellent. FawN or Jaz, is this based on a true story? I'm just wondering how true it is to a real Geisha life. WOW

roocee We went to see Memoirs of a Geisha tonight. It was excellent. FawN or Jaz, is this based on a true story? I'm just wondering how true it is to a real Geisha life. WOW Real Geisha life was researched extensively, but the story is fiction. A criticism of the movie (from a review) was that the movie didn't portray the beautifully exquisite kimonos that REAL Geisha wear nearly as well in the movie (they said those shown in the movie weren't nearly good enough) nor were the dances very accurate of true Geisha dances and were more for 'movie show.' But really only those of authentic Japanese culture or those who are or know of real Geisha would notice or be offended, as I never wouldn't have known the difference.
