February Bloom Rolls: 5 | 9 | 5 | 1 Total: 20
***********
If there was one thing that February did not do well it was navigate in the dark. She'd have gotten lost in here if it hadn't been for a wayward hand reaching out to grab and pull her along. She was a bit of a dead weight though, stumbling over anything that even remotely hit her shoe, but whoever had managed to grab hold of her seemed undeterred.
While she might have struggled alone, February found that she was being hauled towards what looked like an exit. A squint against the occasional crackle of light seemed to reveal that it had been a woman that found her, but rather than interrupt and cause her to lose focus, Ru thought it better to keep her piece.
...She'd thank her after they were safe.
That being said, even though she might have wanted to say thank you in advance, with each passing and clumsy collision she had with something lying on the floor she found herself repeatedly distracted by the numbing sensation in her toes and legs. Now was not the time for thanks, now was the time for focus and if her new found hero was leading the way then it was better to follow her while hitting as few obstacles as possible.
Though unseen, Ru's features set into a grim expression and she settled into a comfortable stride behind her shrouded assistant, picking her path carefully and following her assistant's steps wherever possible.
Eventually they'd get out of here and she would be more than a little relieved.
Now she just kept on running. No more stopping. She was over this whole thing. She was ready to wake up if she was dreaming. Or if not just escape and leave and go home and forget that this ever happened. It was suddenly pitch black and she started to feel like there was no way out. Internally she screamed. She didn't want to be trapped in this black empty void. She needed to find a way out. She squinted, is that a light? Off into the darkness, it's far very far but she can feel it. She fell a couple of times and kept running into obstacles in the way but still she ran, still she pressed on.
Well, this was new. Also, kinda depressing, but she could dwell on that later. It seemed like a big void of nothing at first, but taking a few steps forward, Alise could see broken objects littering the ground, antiques lost to time and beyond hope. It reminded her a little of the Temple of Lepus, only the temple was in better shape that this, thanks to her hard work at cleaning up the place.
The static crackled and flared to life again, and Alise frowned, because she had wanted to explore a little, just a little. Even if there was nothing to see, she had wanted to still find that out for herself, but it was time to move again, always time to move forward. It was still hard to make out anything in the darkness, but Alise could just barely see a path up ahead, that led to another tear.
Compared to before, it wasn't exactly a walk in the park, and Alise occasionally bumped into things, causing little sparks here and there. It was probably best not to run into too many of the objects laying around, Alise decided, after she ended up with a strange feeling of numbness in one hand.

Morie (total: 17)
The newest change of scenery found Morie in the middle of... nothing. Nothing at all.
Well, perhaps it was a little harsh to call it 'nothing'; if she took a few steps in, well, she wasn't sure which direction she was going, there were traces of old, broken objects on the ground. Things that maybe once had been someone's cherished possession, now beyond repair and rusted and cracked. As a bit of a scholar, Morie might have, in another time, found this interesting and fascinating. As it was, she was still dealing with a headache from dealing with everything else that had happened, and really, just wanted to go home and lay down for a bit. She'd even let Tochi off the hook, just for one night, if she could just... get out of here.
Now if she could just make it out without knocking anything over.

Anming (total: 25)
The new scenery was pretty depressing, if you could even call it scenery, really. A void of nothingness stretched as far as the eye could see, and while nothing seemed to be chasing after them just yet, Anming could almost anticipate that they'd be having to ward off some other unknown threat soon enough.
Not that she wanted to hang around, of course- this place was full of nothing but despair and broken things, and there was the ever looming static that threatened to swallow all. Anming could just barely make out another rift in the distance, and, just as hard to see, a path forward. It was time to soldier forth, and hope this would be the end of it, really.

Ilse (total: 17)
Was it over yet? Were the 'mysterious cosmic powers' done ruining her day? Ilse had thought that perhaps the latest tear in space would lead back to the ballroom, where it would all turn out to be a simulation, or something like that, but now she was here, in the void, surrounded by broken things that maybe might have been more pleasing to the eye once upon a time, but now were simply trash. Traipsing around in the forest had done a number to her dress, the dress that she had paid good money to have custom fit to her specifications and measurements, and Ilse was certainly radiating considerable displeasure at this point.
But of course it wouldn't be that easy, would it? The static that had been threatening to swallow them all up all this time was still a present threat, and it seemed that there would be no exception here, either. Not that she wanted to hang around, mind you, but would it kill them to let her take a moment to regain her composure? Actually, why even bother to ask- of course it would- everything seemed to be conspiring against the socialite today, aiming to make her look bad.
As she traversed the corridors of darkness to get to this new rift, Ilse stumbled and crashed into numerous objects along the way, getting shocks and numbness for her troubles. A ball of static was starting to form, as if to mock her, and the combined chaos was starting to make her feel frazzled and lost.
Ugh, this portal had better be the last one, she thought.
Ashley had half been expecting to find some new location on the other side of the strange tear and whilst she had no idea of what said location would be like she had at least been expecting something–
Instead she had found herself stepping into darkness, literal darkness, the shadows seeming to drape over and coat everything - at least as far as she could see.
Her perusal - if it could even be called that - was cut short as fingers suddenly intertwined with her hand, her sister's nervous admission that she was scared echoing into the darkness.
Ashley didn't answer, although she did gently squeeze Harriet's hand and she continued to hold on to it as she did her best to tug her sister forward because there was no point in them just standing there.
Something crackled from off behind them, enough for her to realise that actually there was what appeared to be a path - at least of sorts - and at the end what appeared to be yet another of those tears.
Another crackle, the darkness disorientating, although Ashley wasn't about to turn around and wait for whatever was behind them to catch up as she did her best to follow the path forwards whilst keeping her grip on Harriet's hand.
It was easier said than done as she found herself feeling a strange sensation of numbness as she stumbled into the odd object, the darkness shrouding them making them impossible to keep an eye out for–
And whilst she may have perhaps done better if she had been alone, Ashley had no intention of letting her sister's hand go or of letting Harriet fend for herself alone in this place - wherever this place was.
The forest may have been creepy - well okay the forest was very creepy - but Harriet thought that the other side of the strange tear was even worse–
Maybe it was the nothingness, the way that darkness stretched for as far as she could see, or maybe it was the way the the shadows seemed to shroud and coat everything - but Harriet had had enough - she wanted out.
"I'm scared" her voice was small as she reached for her sister's hand.
Ashley said nothing, although her sister did squeeze her hand before starting to tug her forwards.
It was then that the strange crackling started up, the sound from somewhere behind them, although Harriet wasn't about to look - she just coudn't.
Ashley tugged her forwards, Harriet doing her best to follow, although it was hard going and she could feel herself bumping into things - things that she couldn't actually see but sure could feel with each bumped into item causing a strange sensation of numbness.
The shift in surroundings had felt particularly jarring this time round. Arian's eyes blinking startled from beneath the lenses of his glasses as they took in the surroundings–
Or more accurately the lack of any discernible surroundings, as the other side of the strange tear had led to nothingness - or at least what appeared to be nothingness.
The darkness stretched out before him, shadows appearing to drape over and cover everything - for as far as he could see.
He bit his lip anxiously, before starting to step forwards because it wasn't as if he could stay there - especially with his cousin and Anxo somewhere out there only to find himself turning to look back behind him at the sound of a familiar voice.
Relief washed over him as he picked out his cousin moving, almost running towards him, before a frown flickered across his face as something had her pause and then flinch.
Arian stepped towards her, intending to meet her half way, but she was gesturing frantically forwards–
And there was a path of sorts, one that lead forwards, one that he had somehow overlooked.
There was another of the tears up ahead too, far in the distance–
And there was a crackling coming from somewhere behind them, a sound that Arian vaguely recalled hearing before, one that he didn't want catching up to them.
And was that Anxo up ahead? Was it his boyfriend that he was seeing a little further down the path to where he and Saffron were?
There was only one way to find out and that was to do his best to follow the 'path' - something that was easier said than done as Arian found himself brushing against an item here and an item there–
Items that jolted with a weird but unpleasant numbing sensation when brushed against.
Kapoodles
Arian's post can be found above, happy to tweak as needed once you backfill
Saffron wasn't sure how she had done it, but somehow she had managed to make it to the tear, the thing behind her still crashing its way in her direction and still far, far too close even as she rushed through in the hopes of leaving the creepy forest and the even creepier occupant behind.
She had hoped as the strange sensation washed over her that she would find Anxo and Arian on the other side - had thought that she had seen Anxo up ahead–
She hadn't expected to find herself stepping into nothingness, brown eyes taking in the way that darkness stretched for as far as she could see, as she started to step forwards because she could hardly go back.
Then the crackling had started up, from somewhere behind her, the sound familiar for all that Saffron wasn't about to turn around and check–
And almost as if the crackling had summoned it, there was a path too - well at least of sorts - and (much more welcome) there was her cousin, what looked to be Anxo and also another of those strange tears.
At least Saffron was both assuming and hoping that the figure further ahead of Arian was Anxo.
She stepped towards Arian and hissed as she bumped into something that gave off a strange numbing sensation, even though it was too dark to catch just what it was and then gestured frantically forwards when her caught sight of her and half turned as if to head her way, because she could still hear the crackling from behind them - crackling that was most likely nothing good.
Mi-Hi had thought that the forest was creepy, but the new shift to her surroundings was even creepier.
Green eyes widened as they took in the darkness and the way that it seemed to drape over and cover her surroundings, almost as if she had stepped into some sort of void–
And then there was the crackle from the static that hadn't really gone away and was still here even amongst the nothingness.
But there was also what looked to be a path and another of those strange tears - and whilst Mi-Hi didn't have a clue where here was, she did know that she didn't want to stay here and wait for the strange crackle to catch up to her–
And fortunately, this particular path didn't seem to be so bad - not like some of the others from earlier.

Running she could handle. Withstanding violence was becoming a nearly everyday part of her life.
It wasn't until the last gate, when everything went dark, that the breath started to go shallow in her chest. Not like this. Not like this. It was true that she hadn't been wearing her protective glasses, but she wasn't facing up against any deadly danger either. She didn't want to go all the way blind like this, didn't want to die like this.
Darkness shook her to her bones.
She slowed. It was only the dull buzz of the static in the distance that kept her going at all.
There was light in the distance. It was a dim thing, barely worth it, but it was something, and she headed in that direction.
There were figures there, too. At first she thought they would be bones or something fresher, but she found they were objects. Broken things. Mannequins, and torn dresses, and cracked china dolls with no eyes.
Something caught in her throat. Did this place know she was a broken thing herself, half blind? She couldn't ear the patter of stampeding feet anymore. It was just her. Was this the fate the odd magic had chosen for her? She stopped and examined a puppet's twisted face.
No. She wouldn't accept that. If nothing else, she would keep moving.
Thiois place was hell. Ezekiel looked around, up and down and left and right, taking in the discarded photo frames, couches, tables, and broken appliances before his gaze turned to his cousin, the shorter woman looking around with anxious blue eyes. Ezekiel was primed for thew hunt, muscles tense as he stepped forward slowly, taking in the mountains of left socks with an arched brow before looking back to watch Yolioe trailing slowly, the blonde walking cautiously as she moved in the dark after him. There was little light, but it graced them with a faint halop, dancing off their gowns as Zeke turned to lead the way for his cousin. His father might be angry if she never came home, or despaiire -- who knew -- but Ezekiel wouldn't let their travbels stop as they moved through a roilingh, unmanifeest darkness and hatred thjat tried to smother out their other emotions. Nothing here wanted them to live and he wasn't going to let them succumb.
"What place is this?" Yolie cut the silence to ask her cousin, and Ezekiel looked around, and sighed.
"Hell, I suspect."
"Good think Uncle Vincent is going to be late." Yolie murmured, and Ezekiel barked a laugh and a smile, before leading her through the dim lost world.
Cherish
It was a special btrrand of hell. Prams, baby clothes, books... Glimpses of a life not lived, through the window of a cosmic garbage dump, and the woman moved rapidly to flee. She'd been stuck in the mioddle of the room, surrounded. A few paintbrushes bounced down a mountain and brushed skin, zapping her and numbing ther spot out. Cheriish shivered, shaking her head at it before she began to run. It wqas hard to see where to go, and sometimes she brushed mountains, a zat and a numbness distracting her as she slowly made her way along. It was sdifficult avoiding mountains wwithout looking at them. It was difficulyt navigating in the dark when she did see them.
The despair mingled with hurt and anger at half her family as she moved along slowly, wincing as shje crept along, half numb, wholly distressed, but hellbent on finding her way out and away from these fancy faces. She wanted to go home and eat ice cream. Now.
What an interesting day it’s been. Finding herself in a strange place, shocked, jumbled around... there even seemed to be some manner of creature lurking around from time to time. But she didn't feel frazzled or put off by her situation... in fact, this may be the most fun she's had in a while. Chihaya stared out at everything before her and she began to wonder… if maybe she was a little more messed up in the head than she realized. Because everything before her and happened to her did not fill her with fear or frustration but rather excitement and relief… anything to get out of going to some formal event.
It was the crushing darkness that did Jaidev in, making him lag behind. He would pretend that it was because he didn't want to fall and injure himself, or something else, but it was that the dark, miserable hellscape dragging him down. He didn't want to be trapped forever, but the more he fell behind, the more he felt static sparks lighting him up, and the slower he went.
It was hell. A miserable trudge between discarded antiques, with a growing certainty that he was going to become one of them if he wasn't careful.
Worse was the encroaching static, nipping at his heels and jolting him into something akin to a jog.
He had to get out of here. But he wasn't sure he could or would.
Jolene felt her breath catch. This...this was the worst of all. At least the other worlds had been, in their way, a little fun and science fiction-y--this was just a terrible, dark space filled with ancient garbage.
There was nothing to do, though, but soldier on, and Jolene pushed forward. Occasionally, she bumped into something as she ran, getting a little jolt of static, but that wasn't the worst. Better that than teeth or ray guns, really. But she believed in herself. She would make it through this. She would get back home.
It wasn't easy going, but then, it hadn't been. At least this new place wasn't full of violent monsters--Levi could appreciate that, even if he hated running throguh darkness, bumping into objects and getting shocked by jolts of static that slowed him down and made him stumble briefly, but at least he was making progress.
In fact, he was pretty sure hew was almost out. There was light at the end of the tunnel, he was sure of it, and he refused to be trapped here forever.
