Ulani gave little squeals of delight as they rushed forward, excited about finding berries to appease all the pokemon possible. And maybe find better sweets than just berries around this place. She skipped her way into the clearing and came to a quick pause, wide eyes blinking at the odd stone frame of a doorway appeared in view. The fog seemed to shift oddly at this point.
"Huh?" Ulani blinked, head tilting to the side in confusion. What was a doorway doing out in the middle of a forest? Or a semi-forest? That was weird! "Look pretty flower! A door thingy!" The young squirrel pointed out, turning to look back at her companion as she pointed to the oddity. "Why’s there a door thingy here?" She inquired out loud. A weird shifting nearby caught her attention and she turned to stare face to face with the Drifloon that had floated from the fog when she wasn't looking.
"EEEEK!" She squeaked in surprise and in response, shot a spark of electricity at the pokemon to jostle it back. The balloon pokemon gave a soft groan as it hovered back in response. Ulani looked up at it, tears beginning to whelm in her eyes. "Pretty flower help! A Darkrai!"

☆ ☆【Mogwai was more than glad to accept the role of a shield, after all, a good knight was able to defend those who couldn’t defend themselves against those who wanted to harm them, right? Even if it meant that he’d end up getting hurt in the process, the Bewear didn’t really seem to mind as much as he probably would have otherwise. His thick fur made it difficult to really do much harm against him, but even that had its limits as fire and even special-based attacks were able to bypass his otherwise strong defenses. Even so, he’d hardly have anything to worry about with Daphnes being the sword to his shield, the Bewear growling happily as the Bagon announced that he would do his part as well.
Unfortunately, the good cheer around them hardly lasted for long as they got closer and closer towards what would apparently be their first stop in reaching their destination. The fog seemed to grow thicker and thicker the further they went, coupled with the ominous mutterings that drifted through the air that made Mogwai’s fur stand on end. That certainly sounded like a warning to indicate that trouble was waiting for them up ahead… and sure enough, as the forest before them opened up to reveal a stone archway leading into a room, the sight of the figure shrouded almost entirely in shadows as black as night set the Bewear greatly on edge as memories flashed back to him. But he still hung back, remembering that Daphnes had said they should be careful and that rushing in head first wasn’t the most ideal for a good knight. Mogwai growled lowly under his breath as the Bagon said that the shadowy thing might be Darkrai, but as they approached and passed through the foggy barrier within the stone arch the darkness suddenly fled from the thing to reveal a purple balloon-like Pokemon instead. The sight of it was somewhat familiar to the Bewear… these little things often hung out around cemeteries, though the exact name of it escaped him. ”Noooo… Noooot Daaaaarkraaaaaiii…” he murmured with a shake of his head. If it actually had been Darkrai themselves, Mogwai certainly would’ve expected it to look a lot more intimidating than this. He glanced around as more Pokemon entered the room which in turn caused more of the balloon things to appear, noting with a nod as Daphnes pointed out that others appeared to be attacking them. From the looks of it, the only way they’d be able to progress to whatever lay beyond those stairs was to defeat these things… Mogwai still looked unsure, but clenched his fists as he attempted to stay strong. He looked to Daphnes as the Bagon said that it would seem fighting was their only option if they were going to be able to get past these ghosts. ”Buuuuut Moooogwaaaaaiiii noooot gooooood foooor ghooooosts,” he pointed out nervously, recalling that when he had been forced to fight by those men they would use Ghost-types to subdue him before he got out of control because his attacks couldn’t harm them no matter how hard he tried. Still, Daphnes’s steadfast determination cut through his doubts as he said now was the time for them to demonstrate their abilities to be proper knights. Not all of the Pokemon out there were capable of fighting for themselves, so it was up to them to help clear a path so that they could cross.
Taking a deep breath, Mogwai drew himself upright as he faced against the steadily growing horde of Drifloon, pushing aside any reluctance that still lingered to the best of his ability as he took the words of Daphnes’s speech in stride. ”Moooogwaaaaaiiii prooooteeeect! Heeeelp whoooo neeeed beeee heeeeelped! Mooooogwaaaaaiiii beeeee theeeeiiir shiiiieeeeld!” he declared determinedly, striding forth into the battlefield with this resurgence of confidence welling up within him. As soon as he did, one of the Drifloon separated from a large incoming group, tasseled limbs whipping about behind it as it made to divebomb right for the Bewear. With a low roar, Mogwai charged for the balloon ghost, flailing his thick arms about like a madmon even though a part of him knew that attacking was futile as any attempt to strike would just go right through it. ”Yoooouuuu nooooot huuuuurt!” he snarled in an attempt to ward it off in case he couldn’t strike at it, worst case scenario was that it wouldn't do much against him if he couldn't do much against it in return, right? Much to his surprise, however, instead of phasing through its body like it otherwise would have one of his battering paws actually hit against a solid, rubbery surface, sending the Drifloon flying back a bit of a ways as it let out a cry of hurt and annoyance. Well… that was unexpected, though he hardly had time to dwell on it as the ghost was coming around and back at him again.】☆ ☆

It was too bad there wasn't much to look at up here. Just the impressions of trees in the mist, with the occasional splash of color from the coat of a pokemon below. "N-not really!" Dune called to Chickpea. It was eerily easy to hear each other, maybe because there wasn't much wind, even though the mist seemed like it was dulling a lot of sound.
"I m-mean, I would fly. B-but not for long, usually." It was usually just short flits and glides withing the larger caverns of his home. He'd only gone outside to fly once or twice. He... hoped that one of those times hadn't been why the bad humans knew he was there. "I'm not as tired, as I th-thought I'd be."
Huh, Ai hadn't even considered that there might be pokemon native to this place. Perhaps that munna was one of those denizens? Ai tried to remember all it had said, had it mentioned others? No, not specifically. If only the damn thing had stuck around to answer questions. Dotty came up with good questions, and her way of thinking reminded Ai of some of the scientists she'd known. But there were so few ways to ask those questions that would get them answers. If they couldn't prove it, though, "Well, at the least, let's be ready for anything then."
Ai frowned, as Radium and even Vivace began to move ahead. "We shouldn't split up again," she warned, glancing from one darkened plume of mist to the next. She tensed, looking the same way Piper was, behind them. "Dotty!" she called. The red gem on her forehead began to glow, like a beacon. "Piper, she's not too far, is she?" Ai was on the verge of insisting she or Piper hurry after Radium and Vivace, because at least Piper would definitely be able to find them if they got separated.

As gungho as she was to take on whatever was standing in their way, Vivace couldn't help but to stop and stare up at the archway just above her. It'd really come out of nowhere, and the man-made structure seemed so out of place for a forest, where previously all they'd seen were the shadowy figures of trees, and... fog. Speaking of fog, just beyond the archway it was particularly thick, and no matter how hard she squinted she couldn't see the foe before them. "Oh!" It was Piper's gentle nudge that got her moving, and as she took a step forward Vivace turned around to thank Piper for her assistance, only to find herself face-to-face with a wall of fog. Huh, so their only choice really was to keep moving forward.
Vivace toddled forward, a fine layer of water ladling itself onto her shell as she walked through the condensation, and when it finally did clear enough for her to see again she found herself in a clearing, and just ahead a large staircase. A strange sight to see, considering where they were, but nothing was odder than the balloon pokemon that quickly began to appear, seemingly formed by the fog itself. "G-ghosts are no problem from me!" Vivace turned her head to her left, where the brave exclamation had come from, and watched in amazement as Radium sent forth a shock of electricity directly at one of the balloons. She'd ignore how she'd spazzed out, just a little, right before attacking.
"Alright! Now that's what I'm talking about!" Vivace cheered and, deciding to give her teammate a helping hand, waggled her arm directly at the pokemon Radium had attacked. Instantaneously her cheeks ballooned out as they were filled with a foreign substance, and she exhaled quickly to emit a clear fog (nearly undetectable in the, already, foggy grounds) that quickly enveloped the pokemon. It gave a drowsy, almost regretful, cry before lurching backwards and floating to the ground. "C'mon!" Not wasting anytime, Vivace took a hold of Radium's hand and began to tug her forward, to the staircase. "The others can catch up with us at the top of those stairs!"
She could already tell, this place would soon become a battleground, and with their small stature neither of them needed to be sticking around for too long.

Argo quieted down after a bit, but still scoured around for more treasure in anger. He found two small shinies, swallowing them before anyone could get ideas about taking them from him. By the time he got done with that, he had decided that maybe he should check back in on his group. Just in time to get hit with his own flute as the ivysaur tossed it. "What the fu- MY FLUTE" he squawked, taking a moment to right himself before watching as the flute clattered to the ground. To his surprise, it did not shatter on impact, so he swooped down and grabbed it with his feet before taking back to the air. He shot a glare in the grass pokemon's general direction, but his eyes were drawn towards some strange pokemon showing up to block off the path ahead.

A door? That was a strange thing to find here, and as she stared up at the arch, Prim realized that she didn't have a single clue as to why there was a 'door thingy' out in the middle of the forest. She shrugged her shoulders, to give an answer, then continued moving along.
Prim did her very best to keep up with Ulani, though she did find herself lagging just a bit too behind for her lacking. There were quite a few factors working against her: Ulani was younger, so she moved quicker; she was weighed down by the berry she still, for whatever reason, held onto; and then the wall of fog that smacked her in the face when she ran straight into it, disorientating her for a few seconds and causing her to lose precious seconds. She puffed out her cheeks, properly irritated now, and began pushing her way forward, swiping her hand in front of her face to help dissipate the fog and silently complaining to herself.
Ulani's sudden cry, from just up ahead, urged Prim to put an end to her complaining and put a pep in her step. She tore herself out of the fog, tendrils smoking behind her lithe body, just in time to see Ulani being attacked by a Drifloon. Or, well, it was actually the quite opposite, but she wouldn't stand for it anyway! Her cheeks puffing out even further, Prim formed between her hands a green, unstable energy, just small enough for her to control its trajectory. Shoving it forward with all her might, the flower found great joy in watching her attack hit its mark, and as the 'darkrai' fainted, she quickly made her way over to Ulani, her cheeks deflating as she rubbed the younger pokemon's back comfortingly.

Chickpea, having never been given to the advice to not look down, peered over Dune's shoulder to the fog-blanketed forest below. A shiver ran down his spine, but one of excitement rather than fear (he'd cast that away the second he'd opened his eyes to see where they were), and gaped down at the landscape. Besides, he was hanging on tightly to Dune! Not too tight that he risked squeezing him too hard, mind you, but just enough to feel secure.
"Maybe it's because we're dreaming?" Chickpea suggested, blinking several times to wet his eyes, and pulled himself back up. "In dreams we can do anything! So, it makes sense that you aren't tired yet!" Even if this was a dream being controlled by Darkrai, they could still do these little things. He fell into silence afterwards, mind working over the realization, before he beamed and looked down at Dune. "Y'know, even if this is just a dream, I'm really happy I get to be in one with you, Dune!" he exclaimed. "I don't think I'd have as much fun here if I was with anyone else -- though Lady and Cress are pretty fun too! Just... not as much as you!" He hoped that made sense, while also not coming off as rude towards their other friends. Because he did like them, a lot, but... he liked Dune best!

Cling blinked a few times as Dice came hurrying up, and... offered him his club? He looked down at it, then up at the pokemon, before slithering up and wrapping around it. "I can't carry this, Dice," he pointed out, though seemed to think, "But maybe we can attack together when the time comes.... Do you mind if I stay on your club a bit this time?" He hadn't missed the baby pokemon's displeasure at him winding his way around the weapon before, but he had a bit of an idea. And he was hearing a bit more commotion, so, whether it be friend or foe, it might be good to stay to higher ground.

Shade was moving carefully and quietly just behind the group, almost like a predator. They stayed low to the ground, eyes ahead, tail dipping as metallic fur brushed the ground. Their ears snapped up and head lifted as Fianna decided to go ahead, an alert look crossing the chengshen's face as they watched her move away. This was... unpleasant. Splitting up didn't seem wise. That being said, she wasn't too far ahead, though it became... difficult to see them, almost like she had fallen into a heavy shadow. At least she wasn't alone-- it seemed she expected Daiki to go along with.

Noah squinted further against the fog as comments where made, glancing at Raf as she took to climbing off Allure, towing Luna along as well. "Wha-" He started, snapping his attention back as something finally appeared. The heck was that?!
Quickly the Dewott hopped off as well with the rest of the crew, looking to Allure as she took to action to attack what appeared to be a balloon or something? Like it didn’t exactly look to be a threat. He huffed, arms folding over his chest as he tried to dissect the situation.
"Tha’ bloke ain’ much fah a blue sheila," he commented disapprovingly, seeming to try and determine if it was worth jumping in or not. He did squint further against the fog, thinking he saw another of the balloon things floating about. "Leas’ not if tha’s only one of them…," There could be a danger in numbers after all. He tugged out his shells and squinted a bit more, spotting another Drifloon floating in the fog just beyond. With a bit of a grin, he lowered himself and launched at the pokemon to get a surprise attack in, sweeping a cut down on the balloon. The Drifloon seemed to yelp (it sounded more like a toot) at the attack. "Shove off mate! Yeh ain’ that scareh!"

- Dice looked disappointed that Cling refused to take his weapon. How was he supposed to smash things? He watched the Klow wrap around the bone once again, explaining that he couldn’t carry it. Of course, he could! Right? Like in his mouth! Even though that probably wasn’t sanitary. Not that that was something Dice considered.
"Wha? No!" He puffed his cheeks again, preparing to shake the club again in defiance of Cling’s claims but stopped as the smaller pokemon mentioned that they might work together instead to bash the nightmares together. The baby titled his head just a bit in consideration. He didn’t think he’d need help but… he also noticed that with Cling on his club, it was kind of glowing. Which meant, by extension, he too was glowing.
And that was cool with him.
"Okeh!" He finally chirped, giving the club just the slightest of jiggles as proof that this arrangement was acceptable before holding it up above his head a bit. "Noodle glow! Dice glow!" The Cubone cheered and continued on along the path ahead. Not that there was one, but you know. He started to notice that the fog seemed to be getting just a tad bit thinner and that there were shapes floating off in the backgrounds. Was there something back there? The nightmares perhaps?
"Noodle see nighmares?" He inquired, pointing off towards the shadows. He wasn’t exactly a pokemon who could see all that well in the dark and given that Cling was glowy and seemed just a tad bit smarter on this stuff. If he gave him the word that they were indeed nightmares, then the youngling would be off to smash in a hot minute! -

Gail bounded ahead, ears perked and tail swaying curiously. Her fur puffed, however, when suddenly a pokemon seemed to manifest from the shadows themselves, two long string-like appendages lifting up menacingly. Her eyes went wide, btu she turned as Ammy caught up, and quickly rolled onto her back in front of the pokemon. "Ammy! Ammy! Jump up! I'll spring ya at the pokemon 'n give you a lift!" she urged. She wasn't much of an attacker, though she could if she needed-- but she hoped Ammy was, and giving her some extra momentum might give her a chance to really give this pokemon a whopping!

Daiki didn't need to be told the consequences of shirking training with Dakota. His ears folded back in shame and he smiled sheepishly. "I never really thought I'd need to be stronger, really. He's got other pokemon more capable than me. Heck, even he's pretty capable of protecting himself. I figured my niche was to throw down illusions and make an escape if the going got rough." he admitted, scratching at his head. The zoroark listened as Fi then went on to talk about her own trainer. "Huh... well Ducky could always use more friends himself. Maybe if you happen to find yourself in Alola, they'll meet up." he commented.
Daiki followed the conversation between Bel and Fi about Darkrai, but ultimately had nothing meaningful to add. Instead, he ended up hearing something up ahead once prompted by Fi. He could make out figures in the fog up ahead, and for a moment, he felt a bit of anxiety strike him. Upon moving closer and seeing they were just some balloon pokemon, he relaxed. He could take care of this. It was just a drifloon. "I believe this is in my realm of capability." Daiki quipped, going forward with Fi, quickly trying to remember what kind of damage he can actually do. While he did that, it seemed another drifloon had floated towards him, while another was occupying Fi. Biting back a curse, the Zoroark surged forward with a dark energy surrounding him.

Ammy slowed down her run as she heard Gail call out to her, followed by seeing her on her back with her paws in the air. It seemed she was going to boost her up to attack this balloon looking pokemon that was floating out of reach. "Okay!" she responded, jumping onto the Eevee's paws and letting her spring her up in the air. Her paws made contact with the drifloon as she chomped at it with her teeth twice. It wasn't as nice as a juicy steak, though. It was rather unsatisfying. After the attack she tumbled back to the ground, somehow managing to mostly land on her feet. Only to collapse temporarily with a 'oof'. But the Lupup was quick to shake herself off and get back to her feet.
