She chuckled as she listened to him. She shook her head. "No. This was acquired while I was attempting to help build a friend's home. I was doing it myself while he spent time with his mate. I felt like I needed to help." She said but that one board bested her and having only been allowed to stand on the sidelines had frustrated her. She did sit down finally as she heard his name. Jei huh? Oh, a professor. She went wide-eyed. "My friend Leonora is a professor for Beginner Combat. She had learned from Reynard." She went silent as she lowered her head. She didn't know him personally but it seemed a lot of others did. Especially Leo. She glanced over when she had heard another speak. Was this the man the other was waiting for? Was the school filled with handsome and beautiful people?
Harp laughed nervously. She shook her head as she brought up her hands as she shook them. She had attempted to explain this wasn't a date. The guy wasn't reptilian enough for her. She liked her men with scales. Well in this case only one man had her attention. She was just being nice and making conversation. She hoped she didn't mess up a date between the two. Neither looked like she was their type anyway. After Gannon had left she apologized to Jei as she felt horrible in the end. She wanted the other to know how she felt. She even paid for his ale. Her herb shop had been getting a lot of customers so she had some coin to spare. She hurried to her feet and made her leave. Apologizing, the whole way out the door.

A wide smile grew on Jei's features as he saw the headmaster enter the tavern. Score! His Moopsie mail had worked! However he managed to choke on his ale with Gannon's greeting, spluttering garbled words of incoherent protesting and coughing until he was fine to speak properly. “Wh-Whaaa? Gannon…” Well dang. He didn't know how to deny his words without seeming rude to the herbalist across from him. For the rest of the duration of Gannon's stay, he kept up with the light conversation while inwardly wanting to disappear. The professor was internally spazzing while trying to look as if he was remaining calm.
When Gannon left, Jei groaned and rested his forehead on the table. “Talk about horrible timing.” Harp had been a total sweetheart by paying for his drinks and apologizing but it really wasn't her fault. Jei would just have to figure out a way to show Gannon that it wasn't what he perceived at all! That was it! A super duper success plan of seduction! He felt like he knew where to start so when she got uo to leave, so did he. There was a few stops he had to make before he busted into the headmasters house the next day so they could celebrate winter solstice together. Jei bid the lady a farewell then whisked out of the tavern with sheer determination.
End interaction for the day.

Snow storms were bad for business. They had two customers and they were only dining he tavern because they were also renting rooms at the Inn as well. Standing behind the bar, Emma sighed a little, swirling her lukewarm tea in her cup. There was no use having everyone on staff when the storm was raging outside, so Emma and her cook, who had a permanent room in the Inn as well, were the only two on staff for the time being. It was just as well, the two customers they have didn’t need much, so they were covered.
Taking a seat in one of the booths, she looked out the window – the snow was really piling up. There were a few people out and about, but they looked like they were walking as fast as they could to get from wherever they were coming from to wherever they were going. Arching a brow, she saw a darkly dressed figure quickly trudging through the snow…shortly thereafter there a black beast could be seen following the other man. How odd…Narrowing her gaze, she frowned. Was it a shifter? Or was it something from the woods out hunting? She didn’t like the idea of there being a beast out hunting like that…but what could she do? 'I’ll tell Sarai about it…maybe she knows something I don’t…’ In any case, Emma hoped that Sarai was keeping warm – her fiancé liked cold weather just about as much as she did…
All Sarai wants to do is get back to the tavern after a long day of training the men and patrolling. The cold weather is not a friend of hers, especially when it gets to the point that there are snowstorms. Her armor does a good job protecting her, but that does not mean she liked being outside dealing with this weather. At times she found herself cursing silently when she felt like the weather got worse. However, the time has come to return to the tavern. She had to fight through piled up snow to get inside, but once she did, she let out a loud sigh of relief. The warm tavern is exactly where Sarai needed to be. She would be feeling much better if Emma is there. Fortunately, she is sitting in a booth close by. That was enough to put a smile on Sarai's face. She made her way over to the booth, sat next to Emma, planted a kiss on her cheek and said to her,
""Hey. I missed you. How have you been?"
Aside from the snowstorm causing a reduction of patrons in her tavern, Emma's day went along smoothly for the most part, albeit somewhat boring. Sarai can't say that she had a different day than her except for the parts where she was outside in the freezing cold patrolling the streets. Now that she is home and together with Emma, the two of them shared a hot meal together and talked briefly with each other about their day before heading off to their washroom to take a hot bath together. Sarai teased Emma a bit while they were in there, but did not go too far with it. After their bath, they got dressed for the evening, Sarai started a fire in their room, and the two of them went to bed together.

It is another cold morning. Sarai did not want to get out of bed. When will this dreadful winter season end and the heat return are some of the thoughts that she has constantly. The warm bed and room that she sleeps in is a reminder of the colder weather that awaits her. However, to face the cold is a challenge that she must overcome, so as she rose from her spot on the bed, she moved toward the fireplace and sparked a fire. Surely her barmaid Emma would have asked her to do that whenever she wakes up, so it is good for Sarai to be ahead of the curve. Then she began to do her typical warmup exercises, always ending with her favorite exercise: hanging off a bar on the ceiling by her feet and doing crunches. After she finished the last exercise, she gently dropped to the floor and began breathing deeply. Her body dripping with sweat, she will have to take a bath soon. However, she will wait for Emma to wake up in case she wanted to bathe with her.

As per usual for Sarai, she woke up early in the morning, gave Emma a kiss on her cheek, did a couple of warmup exercises, left the inn so she can train on her own someplace where she will not be bothering other people, then returned after her training was done to take a bath. After her bath, she is looking forward to eating breakfast with Emma. She should be in the kitchen getting breakfast ready for those dining at her tavern. Sarai can wait patiently for Emma to not be so busy so the two of them can eat together. In the meantime, she has been working on ideas for the ceremony. All she really knows are the traditions of her tribe, but there are certain things that probably won't work, like hunting down a large animal for the feast. At least the tattoo that she had been working on for Emma to bear on her back is finished. There is one tradition that she is aware of in a city like this when it comes to marriage. The ones who are getting married wear a suit and a dress. Not just any kind of suit and dress. They are made specifically for what Sarai describes as a union. The problem is that Sarai has no clue what she should wear. She normally does not wear a dress since is not the typical girly woman and has been adjusted to wearing shirts and pants. This was already giving her headache. She sighed heavily and started rubbing her head with her right hand.
""This would be so much simpler if I were with my tribe."

Emma awoke alone in her cold bed. Huffing, she pouted for a good ten minutes while she woke up. She understood that Sarai had her morning routine to keep, but just once it’d be nice to wake up warm in her fiancé’s arms instead of in a cold bed all alone. Like Sarai, Emma had her own morning routine which mainly consisted of getting up, having a nice hot bath, brushing out her long locks and getting dressed for the day. Sarai’s workout consisted of a strict exercise regiment, but Emma’s work out consisted of cooking, serving and cleaning the Tavern day in and day out. It was hard work, running her own business, but she loved it and wouldn’t have it any other way.
By the time Sarai came back to the tavern, the breakfast rush was more or less winding down, which allowed Emma to cook her and Sarai’s breakfast. Putting everything on a tray, she brought it to the table Sarai occupied. “Good Morning, Love…did you have a good workout?” Emma didn’t bother chiding Sarai for waking up and leaving their bed – she did that ever morning so what was the use in nagging? Taking a seat, she sipped her hot tea with a happy sigh. “Mmmm, perfect...Eat up, you must be starving.” She said, nodding toward the plate in front of her fiancé.
The thoughts Sarai was having about the future ceremony were interrupted by Emma showing up with breakfast. Of course, the guard appreciates this interruption. The less she has to think about the ceremony, the better state her head will be. All this was giving her a headache, although she has not gotten Emma's input on what she wanted yet since Sarai has been busy with her regiment and work. The smell of Emma's cooking is already revitalizing Sarai's spirit, so she can only imagine what the taste will do for her. The typical confident grin emerged on her face as she responded to Emma's question,
""My workout leaves me sore, but that only means that it is working. It is only better now that I have good food and my millaray with me."
Sarai had explained to Emma before that millaray is translates to "golden flower". The guard found that nickname fitting for Emma and has been using it since the first time she referred to Emma as such. Not wanting the food to get cold, Sarai started eating what was on the plate. Like always, it tastes delicious. A few more mouthfuls of food in her stomach later, she knows she has to bring up the subject that was on her mind before.
""You never cease to amaze me with your cooking...um...I been thinking about something lately. I...I know you are expecting a ceremony of sorts for the two of us. I believe you call it a wedding. It is different where I come from, but there are things that we do there that I know it would not be possible here. I think what mystifies me the most is the attire we are expected to wear that day. I...I am not a big fan of dresses...on me that is."

Emma smiled and blushed lightly at Sarai’s term of endearment. She loved her nickname, it made her feel so loved and cherished. Taking a bite of her food, she tilted her head to the side as Sarai talked, nodding a little bit as she spoke. It was true, Emma did want to have some sort of ceremony, but it didn’t have to be overly fancy. Reaching out, she took Sarai’s free hand and grasped it.
“You don’t have to wear a dress, love…you can wear whatever you want. I will want to wear something beautiful for you, but if you aren’t comfortable in a gown, then I wont force you to wear one.” Gently squeezing Sarai’s hand, she didn’t leg go but continued to eat her meal.
“I’m planning on taking tomorrow off…would you like to accompany me to the tailors? Maybe Leonora has something special that we can purchase and if not, we can have her make something for you. How does that sound?” Emma just wanted Sarai to be happy. Her love had done so much for her, designing her lovely tattoo, of which she was very excited to receive. If they needed to commission new clothes for the ceremony, then she’d happily pay for them.
Sarai can certainly leave to Emma to bring her back into a state of peace when the former's mind is filled with overwhelming thoughts. It may seem trivial to others, especially since her position revolves around the command of many who are expected to defend the innocent with their lives, but that is simple compared to ceremonial traditions that she is not familiar with. Emma is okay with Sarai not wearing a dress, something that she is happy that it will not be debated for a long time. The barmaid will be wearing a dress because she wants to look beautiful for their special day, but Sarai will leave that task to her. After all, it will be challenging for Emma to find something to wear that will make her more beautiful than she already is. With her mind at ease, some of the tension in her body also relaxed, something Emma will surely feel as the two of them continued to eat their breakfast. Then the topic of tomorrow came about. Emma wishes to visit Leonora, the owner of the tailor shop. If there is anyone who solve their suit and dress dilemma, it has to be her. Sarai has no objections to this and can certainly take time out of her day after training her men in the morning to stop by the tailor shop.
""I wonder if this tailor can make something that will match your beauty. I have my doubts, but I will like to see her try, even though I am most certain she will fail. I will have to meet you at the shop after I finish whipping the men at the barracks into shape, but I give you my word that I will be there."

Emma smiled and blushed lightly at Sarai’s compliment – her fiancé was such a sweet talker. Shaking her head a little, she squeezed Sarai’s hand and sipped more of her tea. “I’m sure she will do a wonderful job, love…Leonora is a wonderful dress maker. I have every confidence that she will make something lovely for you as well.” Giving Sarai a loving look, she ate a bit more of her breakfast.
“Now, about this ceremony…I think we should have it soon. I know it will take a while for our clothes to be made, a few weeks in the very least, but I would like to be married after that, Sarai…” Emma said sincerely as she looked at her love. “I am yours and you are mine…but I want it to be official, alright?”
In her heart, she and Sarai were already married, bonded for life, but she knew that it was important to Sarai to have the cultural aspect of the marriage performed. Emma was a little scared of getting such a large tattoo but she was excited as well, because it would show that she was Sarai’s…
Kissing Sarai’s cheek, Emma smiled. “Now…are you free for the day or heading back to the barracks for work?” Emma knew that with Rey gone, Sarai’s responsibilities had increased, so she was very understanding of her love’s busy schedule, but she did hope to steal a few hours of her time when she could.
Sarai has no doubts based upon the reputation of the tailor shop run by Leonora that the extravagant dress of Emma's dreams will be made into reality. The guard does not care too much about the suit, so she will leave that part to either Emma or Leonora. What this tan woman cares about the most is having some part of her tradition from home come alive when it is time for the two of them to be truly united, especially the tattoo that will be inked on Emma's body. Sarai is capable of doing the ink work herself, but that could be breaking the tradition of having someone else who inks in her tribe do it. It is unheard for the bride to be inked by the groom, but Emma and Sarai may be the exception to the norm. The barmaid cannot wait much longer for this ceremony to take place, so a decision must be made soon regarding who will be inking her as well making time and finding a place where she can be inked. As Sarai finished her plate, Emma asked her if she is free for the day or if she is heading back to work. The former believes the latter will be pleased by what she has to say in response.
"I won't be going back to the barracks today. I know we have things to discuss, and I wanted to make sure we have the time we need to talk. I have my traditions regarding our union, the most important being your ink. I am capable of inking you myself, but it usually done by someone else in my tribe. I...I probably would be more comfortable if I could find someone who can ink you.""

Emma was elated to hear that Sarai had the day off. Given how busy she was, her fiancé rarely took time off, so it meant a great deal to her to know that Sarai had taken the rest of the day off so they could discuss the specifics of their upcoming wedding ceremony. Grasping Sarai’s hand, Emma gave her a very loving look.
“Yes, it would seem that we do have a lot to discuss…As far as my tattoo is concerned, as long as you are there with me when I get it, and as long as you trust the skill of the artist, then I will gladly receive the tattoo application from someone else.” There was no way that she would have Sarai’s elegant design inked into her skin by a sub-par artist. No, this was a symbol of their love and union, she would accept only the best.
The couple spent the rest of the afternoon enjoying one another’s company over tea and cookies. They discussed every aspect of the wedding; the date, location, guests, attire, etc. It was a lot to cover, but it was wonderful to finally have some decisions made.
By the end of the day, Emma was curled up happily in Sarai’s arms, her cheek pressed against her love’s heart as she fell asleep, a small smile on her face. She felt like the luckiest girl in the entire world…
Emma came over to Gin’s table and refilled his drink with a sweet smile. She didn’t see the wolf-shifter very often but when she did, he was always a pleasure to serve. He was a man of few words, but he was polite, and he always tipped her well for the meals and drinks he bought. “Can I get you anything else, love?” Truth be told, Gin looked a bit down and she wanted to try to cheer him up a little. Hadnt he been dating that feisty albino boy a while back? Granted, she hadnt seen the kid in a while…Maybe they’d had a falling out?
Gin looked up at Emma and gave her a small smile and a nod of thanks as she refilled his drink. Gin was making an effort of getting out of the house more, especially now that it was spring. He wasn’t very social by nature but with his mother’s influence, he felt that he needed to at least try to get out more, if not try to make new friends as well. “No thank you, Emma. This is perfect.” Gin said, sipping his drink with a little sigh.
Emma nodded a bit, knowing to give Gin his space. She hated that he dined alone…he looked so lonely seated next to the window by himself. But it seems it couldn’t be helped. Didn’t he have a little sister? Maybe she could come and keep him company, although she likely had other friends, she wanted to spend time with too. Going back behind the bar, Emma got to work on a few of the stray dishes from the lunch rush.
After finishing his drink, Gin grabbed his dishes and walked to the bar, placing them on top for Emma. Reaching into his pocket, he placed a fair amount of coins beside the dirty dishes. “Thank you, Emma. I’ll be back later in the week to visit again.”
“You’re welcome. Have a great day, Gin. See you again soon.” Emma said as she gathered the dishes and looked to the coins – Gin had left a lot this time. Sighing a little, she smiled, he really was too generous.
Gin opened the door to the tavern and stepped out into the street. Closing the door behind him, he sighed and stuck his hands in his pockets. With his hook pulled up, the sun was mostly out of his eyes, but still, he kept his head down as he walked toward the Market Street.
