Being as stubborn as a mule Riko tried to act like crashing into the wall didn't hurt, tried to ignore the shaking of the entire building, and the tightness in her chest and gut, but when she couldn't she decided to try and use it, she called on the pain to allow her to tighten her jaws, sinking deeper into that layer of fur and skin that was stopping her, and once she had a hold she tried to rip chunks from the wolfs neck, she screamed breathlessly raging muffled by the fur that was in her mouth, but her next actions supplied what her grunts could not. She climbed higher and pressed her hands over Shiva's eyes and went to clawing trying to rip them right out of her sockets. --- "Whoa whoa whoa." Delorna said quickly slipping in front of Elle who was rushing the doors. "You know I can't let you go out there, your mommy's would have my head." Delorna said trying to get through to the girl, though she doubted she was making any progress. "Sorry but I think dealing with you is a lot easier than answering them to them."

Despite Shiva's best efforts to knock Riko off of her back, the vampire managed, somehow, to hold fast. Shiva's attempts were rewarded with searing pain as Riko dug her fangs in deeper and tore at the furry flesh underneath. Then Riko pulled herself higher and went for Shiva's eyes, and Shiva, still recovering from the searing pain in her neck, roared and jerked her body about. Unable to see, she aimed for the wall, but her movements were sloppy and desparate.
Hearing their leader's distress, a few of the other wolves nearby abandoned their own battles to aid Shiva. They growled and clawed and snapped their teeth at Riko, trying to pry her off. But then Shiva roared once more, and many of the werewolves still conscious (and alive) made one last attack on their respective enemies before retreating. Once Shiva managed to free herself from Riko, she would retreat, too, her face and eyes a bloodied mess.
--
Whether she was in human or wolf form, Elle was too young to understand that Delorna was trying to reason with her. All she saw right now was an obstacle standing between herself and her pack. A feisty cub (just like her adopted mothers), Elle growled at Delorna to try to scare her off, then attempted to gnaw on the succubus's ankles.

Riko curled on the floor, as the wolves retreated, whimpering pathetically in the pain she could now freely express. A couple of her comrades ran up to her and she could feel their hands busily searching her identifying and calling out her wounds, the wolves had did a number on her shredding her skin with their fangs and claws. She was lucky to be alive, lucky that their leader had fled. After a beat Siobahn exited and was standing over her. Watching Riko silently. "Take her to my room. I'll take care of her." Siobahn ordered softly, before turning and walking away, leaving her men to gather Riko up as gently as they could, and follow.. --- "How cute, you're teething" Delorna sang softly, feeling the little nubs of Elle's developing teeth against her ankle. It wasn't the most comfortable feeling, but it didn't hurt as much as it could have. There was a knock on the door a code delivered letting her know it was safe to come out. Crouching down and scooping the girl up, Delorna opened the door. "Let's go find your mother."

As the night ended and the full moon made its exit, Elle returned to her human form. Now once more a small, chubby baby, Delorna put her in a crib beside Riko's (well, Siobahn's) bed. Speaking of Riko, she was currently a sight for sore eyes. Delorna settled into a chair beside both Elle and her mother, thinking that the werewolves had really shredded Riko up. But still, somehow, Riko had won the fight.
Delorna turned her attention to Siobahn as she entered the room. "Is she going to be okay?" Delorna asked her sister, nodding to Riko's sleeping form. And what were they going to do about the werewolf pack, she wondered. This could be the end of it. Maybe. Probably not. If they wanted Elle this badly, Delorna figured they would take a break to regroup, then double their efforts.
--
Shiva barely made it back to the base. And when she finally did, she and many of the other collapsed on the floor and passed out. When she woke up in her human form, her fellow pack members were dressing her wounds. In particular, her neck and eyes. She couldn't see anything. Perhaps this was because of the bangages around her face, but maybe not. Shiva shook with anger and groaned in pain. When she considered a life without sight, she wanted to smash someone's face into a wall. To make matters worse, Shiva had already been given the numbers. A few of the pack hadn't made it.
But the bad news just kept coming.
"Bring Mercy to my room," she said in a hiss. Some of her wounds were still being tended to, and she winced and shifted uncomfortably in the bed.
"Shiva, I... can't do that," Thistle, the werewolf she had been giving commands to, murmured after a pause.
Shiva hesitated, her fury beginning to take complete hold of her. "And why not?"
"Because she, well... escaped." When Shiva began screaming, Thistle decided not to mention that Mercy had ripped her guards' throats out, as well.
--
Mercy was a few yards away from Siobahn's hideout when she caught a whiff of the stench of werewolf blood. It wasn't just werewolves, though. There were vampires, fae, succubi... Before, Mercy had been skeptical that Harry had given her the right location. After escaping, she had spent the rest of the night in the densely wooded part of the park, then gone home in search of Riko, Elle--and Shiva. Everyone was here, though, according to Harry.
She approached the door and hesitated a moment, uncertain, before knocking. She was sure she looked like a mess: she had grabbed a T-shirt and shorts from the house and had taken a lightning-quick shower, but she was sure she still wreaked of werewolf blood, and she hadn't taken a lot of care in her appearance.

"She's not accepting my blood. So recovering for her is a bit difficult." Siobahn said softly, her brow was furrowed in a way that would suggest that she was really frustrated that she could do nothing to help the vampire. "Do you think she will take mine?" Delorna asked standing quickly to offer it. But Siobahn stopped her by placing a hand on her chest. "When I tired, she growled and snapped at me, any further action will only cause more injury to not only her but you as well. She's being stubborn." Siobahn sighed. "Typical Riko." Delorna grumbled "Still in a combat high, probably the wolf blood in her that is making her so picky." Siobahn remembered the fact that Riko's mouth had been covered in the stuff when she had first found her curled up on the pavement. "Maybe we can-" Delorna was cut off by the sound of Siobahn's cell ringing, the woman turned her back and picked it up. "Hello?"--- The sentry's had tracked her for a while before they descend on her coming down on the lone wolf in a circle formation trapping her. Their group consisted of Werewolves, Vampires, and Fae and they didn't give any indication that they threat they represented was to be taken lightly. "Move, and die." Came the order from one, as he pulled out a phone and made a call, after a short conversation he began to describe Mercy's appearance, he then nodded and beckoned Mercy to follow.

Mercy was startled when the small pack of werewolves, fae, and vampires surrounded her. How hadn't she smelled them coming? Bracing herself, but not making any sudden, threatening movements, Mercy turned her head slowly in order to assess her captors' motives. Mercy would attack them if she needed to, but she really didn't want it to come to that. She was tired, and her body was sore from last night's transformation. Also, it would probably be morally wrong. I just want to know if Elle and Riko are okay, dammit. Finally, after one of them made a phone call, he nodded and beckoned for Mercy to follow. Relieved, yet still wary, Mercy followed the man into the building.
A few hallways later, Mercy found herself in a bedroom smelling very heavily of succubi. Delorna and... someone else? Elle was in a crib, her familiar scent setting all of Mercy's (questionably) maternal instincts on fire. And beside her, Riko was sleeping. She wreaked of blood. Werewolf blood. And she looked uncomfortably... still. Silent. Mercy grimaced.
"I never thought I'd be so excited to see you alive," Delorna said with a slight grin, walking over to Mercy and pulling her into a hug. It wasn't an entirely welcome gesture, mostly because Mercy would never have expected it. Eyes widening, Mercy's body stiffened, but tried to return the embrace; but it was over by the time she managed to raise her arms. When Delorna pulled away, Mercy smoothed out her clothes.
Taking on a more serious expression again, Mercy approached Riko's bed, gave the vampire a concerned once-over, then went to Elle to check on her. "What happened?" she asked. She knew the gist, but some of the details were missing.

"Well as you know, your friends came down on us in full force, and Riko being Riko decided she wanted a piece of the alpha all by herself. Of course that's only from what I heard, I was inside watching Elle while it all went down. Though sources say, Riko clamped onto the wolf and wouldn't let go, single handedly caused a retreat, thought that was only after the 8 or 9 wolves had to forcefully dislodge her from their alpha's back. That's the cause of her poor state at the moment. Siobahn, my sister thinks that Riko ingested quite a bit of wolf blood, and her body is craving it at the moment because she won't accept anything else but that's only a theory." Delorna rambled on, she reached a hand out and placed it on Riko's damp forhead and instantly the Vampire, reacted, snarling weakly and turning away forcefully. "Stubborn mule." Delorna mumbled to herself. "But out of all this there is good news, Elle didn't become violent during the night, though she did show herself to have a bit of a wild side, she went from a toddler to something a lot more functioning, and she bit me. Or at least tried, but only because I wouldn't let her out." Just then Siobahn walked her, her eyes betraying a bit of surprise at the sight of their guest. "Mercy." She said simply already knowing who the wolf was. She nodded to herself as if answering a question in her head, before moving to Riko's bedside. "I assume Delorna told you what happened, so I won't need to go over that. However I do feel I need to tell you, if... when Riko wakes up. She's going to be angry, with you. I have no grudge with you, but Riko feels betrayed. You lied to her. I just think you should be prepared for that. We all know she isn't the type to let things go easily. Even if you kept things from her for her own good."

Well, ********. Even though Riko had won the fight, Mercy could only imagine how Shiva was going to react to the pack's defeat. She would probably gather outside resources, build a bigger, stronger force. ********. Then Delorna described Elle's midnight shift, and it was somewhat of a relief to hear the infant hadn't become hostile. She would be pretty easy to handle during full moons, at least for a little while.
"Mercy."
Mercy turned and found another succubus staring at her. The woman clearly knew who Mercy was, but Mercy, on the other hand, was at a loss. The succubus explained that Riko would be upset with Mercy when she woke up. More shitty things to think about. Mercy sighed and ran a hand through her hair, nodding. "I wouldn't expect anything less," she said honestly. "I don't regret what I did. Just... how it ended. I didn't mean for any of this to happen. I wanted to avoid all of it." She felt horrible. "Delorna mentioned she's high on werewolf blood... if I made a donation, do you think it would help any?" She walked over to Riko and held out her wrist.

"Can't hurt to try." Siobahn said softly moving to stand behind Riko, lifting her up gently, ignoring the ragged sounds of the girls protest as Siobahn forced her up, leading her to Mercy's outstretched arm. "Drink." she commanded forcefully as she had in their past attempts to feed the vampire, though none of those attempts hadn't ended successfully. Though this time Riko bit, deeply, and began to drink. Siobahn, breathed a sigh of relief, and relaxed visibly, they had been running out of ideas, there wasn't much that they could do with Riko in such a weak state, and with her not accepting blood, they weren't so sure she would make it. When Riko finished, she let go of Mercy's arm, and Siobahn moved to lay her back down, but Riko's hand shot out gripping mercy by the chest of her shirt, gripping tightly her clawed fingers, scratching Mercy's chest. She opened her normally turquoise eyes, now bloodshot with the fresh blood running through her veins. "What.... are... you doing.... here." Riko croaked. Siobahn looked between the two, before her eyes settling on Mercy pleadingly, feeling that the wolf would be the cooler head in this situation.

Mercy winced and grunted when Riko bit into her, pain shooting up her arm. "Jesus, Riko," she grumbled, wondering if vampire feedings were usually this uncomfortable, or if Riko was just being an a**. When Riko finished, Mercy felt a little light-headed, but fine overall. Until the vampire grabbed Mercy's shirt and pulled her in, scratching her chest in the process.
Mercy narrowed her eyes at the wounded girl, her body wanting to react with anger. Riko brought out the worst in her sometimes. But as the guilt and regret overtook her again (and as she caught a glimpse of Siobahn's pleading expression), Mercy's gaze softened. "I'm here to check on you and Elle," she said steadily. "I'm... sorry that I didn't come sooner. That I wasn't here to protect both of you."

Riko looked at Mercy, her eyes narrowing she released a long sigh, her chest visibly deflating as she released Marcy, raising her hand back on her own stomach, looking away from the girl, not having much to say. Yet. "Why do you look like s**t." Riko asked bluntly. Siobahn sighed and Delorna started laughing. Riko shook her head as if to say never mind, and rolled over onto her side achingly. She wanted to sleep, but she couldn't now, with all this wolf blood in her, so she instead occupied herself watching Elle. Who was busying herself doing "baby things" "I think I pissed your friend off by the way."

Mercy was alive. She should be dead--Riko should have killed her--but she was alive. For now. Sighing in relief as Riko backed down, Mercy sat on the edge of the bed. She followed the vampire's line of focus to Elle and watched as the baby gurgled and reached for Riko.
"Yeah, I think you did, too," Mercy replied humorlessly. She was tired, her body still sore and unsettled from last night. Her muscles ached to lay down, but she decided against it, knowing that Riko would almost definitely strangle her. "Sounds like you messed her up pretty good." Mercy fell silent, debating what to say next, if she should say anything at all. She opened her mouth, like she might let something out, then glanced at Delorna and Siobahn and stopped. Siobahn, sensing Mercy's hesitance, signaled subtly to Delorna to leave.
Delorna, after her initial confusion, sighed and stood. She ran a hand through her hair. "Well, this is boring, and I've been up all night. I'm going to sleep for a bit." She squeezed her sister's shoulder affectionately, waved goodnight to the other three, then exited the room. Siobahn excused herself and left, as well. But she didn't go too far.
Mercy looked at Riko. "Hey, I'm sorry. For lying. I know you feel betrayed, but I wouldn't have kept you in the dark if I didn't think it was necessary."

"I'm getting real tired-" Riko's words were cut short as she rolled onto her side and heaved a painful cough a hand pressed to her chest as she winced in pain. "I've been on this earth too damn long. To be treated like a kid." Riko croaked clearing her throat and wincing again. "I don't feel betrayed I was betrayed. A lie no matter how little, or how well meaning is still a ******** lie. Say what you want about the way I act and treat others, but I have never-" Riko's voice went ragged and then she started coughing again, and Elle started crying. Riko cursed and rolled back onto her back, going quiet. "When I get out of this bed. I can't promise I won't want to string you up by your neck. Just know that." Riko warned, her eyes red. She then nodded her head towards Elle. "She's calling you."

Mercy wanted to be angry, to call Riko an ingrate, but it wouldn't make sense. She didn't have that right. Maybe if her plan had worked and Shiva had left them alone, then Mercy could have pulled the "I saved your life" card. As it was, though, Mercy had ******** up. She had ******** up big time. Instead of talking over a solution with Riko, she had taken matters into her own hands and gotten in over her head. Elle could have been taken, Riko could have been killed. Mercy's relationship with Riko had been on thin ice to begin with... Where did it stand now? Would it ever recover? Could it?
Mercy stood and walked over to the crib. "Hey there, love," she whispered half-heartedly, wearing a weak smile as she lifted the baby into her arms. Glancing at Riko--for a second, no longer, because Mercy just... couldn't--she said, "We'll let you rest. I'll send someone back in to look after you." Then she left to find another room where she could watch over Elle and put her to sleep.
