Landing in the sprawling metropolis of Goldenrod City Simon had forgotten how much hustle and bustle there was here especially compared to the cities in Kanto. It was a far cry from the cities of Kalos as well. Although it was a decent sized town Kiloude was really only known for the Battle Mansion and was considered far out of the way. In fact there was no defined route to the city and train was the easiest. That didn't mean you couldn't walk there and maybe one day someone would make the walking path better. Moving towards the quarantined area where a large chunk of the meteor was his goal was to find the shard and move on.

The city stretched north and south with a train station in the north that led to other regions and beyond. Moving towards it he saw that the line was down, maybe just backed up a little as some crew members were moving larger rocks off the track and fixed the damage using an Electivire to help with the repairs. From where it was high above Simon was able to still scan the powerful electric Pokemon. "Electivire the thunderbolt Pokemon. It pushes the tips of its two tails against the foe, the lets loose with over 20,000 volts of power." Continuing under the train line he looked for possible shards that had fallen.

Looking around the rubble and debris while avoiding the dirt that came raining down from the workers above. The wild Pokemon in the area weren't as excited as those looking around for shards as he could see several groups of them running around in the more exposed tall grass. Walking towards a medium sized rock he bent to move it but when he lifted it he felt the stab of a horn in his leg. Crying out he dropped the rock and looked at the offender, a female Nidoran who had been trying to move it as well. Instead of being grateful that Simon moved it she attacked.

The battle was over quick and Simon healed Pignite up before sitting down and rubbing the spot Nidoran had struck. There wasn't any real damage, it just surprised him. Just a red spot where the horn hit him, rubbing the spot it went away as did the pain.

Goldenrod City, the biggest city in Johto and with every big city came the rushing, the shoving, the need to place to place in a timely manner: the crowds. As usual, Huey kept to the very edges; hugging the sidewalks so that he avoided the majority of the masses. Tybalt matched each step he took, not a fan of crowds himself, though kept an eye out for any openings that would allow them a true disjunction from the crowds.
Being back home didn't quite bring back any overwhelming feelings of nostalgia, rather just wariness; though passing a few familiar stores and shops did bring flashbacks here and there, of family trips or conversations had just walking past them. So perhaps those fond memories and the emotions that came with them would come soon, just after he got back home and away from the crowds. Huey looked up sharply when he felt a tug on his arm and, after confirming that it was only Tybalt, allowed himself to be guided away. With the Kirlia in charge the two found themselves near the apartment complexes closest to the sea, the sound of water lapping against the stone walls of the city and the sharp scent of salt water greeting them.
"Oh, we're actually near my place." Huey observed, rather pleased with their serendipity, though Tybalt seemed more concerned about the purple, wiggling, blob headed their way. It was a Ditto, who demonstrated its transforming ability after it was hit with a barrage of leaves. Unfortunately for it, it wasn't even allowed the chance to test out its new 'form' before a round of Echoed Voice knocked it out cold.
"These pokemon aren't the strongest." Tybalt mused, unsure of whether or not he was pleased with this. On the one hand it helped ease him into battling and boost his confidence, on the other hand it never quite tested his limits. "Don't worry." Huey spoke up, tearing the pokemon away from his thoughts. "We'll find stronger pokemon the farther we get into the region. We just need to make sure we're ready for it." Tybalt nodded, pleased with this answer, and turned a thoughtful look up to the apartments. "So this is where you live?" the boy followed his look, one hand falling to rest on his waist. "Yuuuup. Third floor, fourth room on your left." he parroted the directions that had been told to him since the age of seven automatically, smiling sheepishly once he'd done so and realized it. "Someone ought to be home, if not we'll just wait for them."

Taking the stairs two at a time, Huey took the familiar path up to his apartment room-- each step practically ingrained into his memory. Once he arrived at his floor he led Tybalt to the fourth door on the left, hands already digging around for his key. He unlocked the door and opened it slowly, poking his head inside cautiously. "Hello?" he crept inside the apartment, Tybalt following, from the way his body language spoke it looked as if he was entering a stranger's home rather than his own. But, he couldn't help it. Who knew what awaited him-- "You're alive!" a flash of red and suddenly the boy was yanked into the room and wrapped into a tight embrace. "Hugo Wyatt Greens, where have you been!? We thought you were dead!" he squirmed in the embrace, gasping dramatically for air as he pushed back. Red hair, the voice... the bone-crushing hug... "Mom?" he blinked twice, green orbs refocusing onto the woman whose single goal seemed to be driving the breathe out of his body while simultaneously breaking his spine. "Yes, your mother. Your worried sick mother-- young man, answer my question! Where have you been?"
Huey opened his mouth, prepared to give the haphazard excuse he'd thought of during his trip over here, before a crash interrupted the start of his sentence and derailed his train of thought. "Is he here!?" three different voices, followed by a yelp, could be heard and suddenly the boy was surrounded by the rest of his family, bombarded with questions, and pulled into several different hugs; all while Tybalt clung to him, suddenly feeling claustrophobic. One, two, three.. he counted five people around him, which meant they were missing one more.. "Huey!" a loud, booming, voice broke through the chorus of others and the boy jumped. "Where the he--" Angelia pushed through, biting down on her bottom lip to prevent herself from cursing. She exhaled. "You have been gone for several months with no contact, I have tried calling you, I have tried texting you, I even went out to Unova and searched for you." it was obvious, from the way she grit her teeth, balled her fists and took pauses out of her sentences to censor her words that she was upset. But there was also a shimmer in her eyes and her frame shook that she was.. relieved, or at least there was more than anger inside her.
"Ah, sorry..." an apology was the first thing off his lips and he reached out to place a hand on Tybalt. Huey breathed in, shifted his gaze to the side, breathed out and waffled on telling them the truth. Or well, that wasn't much of an option. He had to tell the truth, it was just how much he ought to tell them. So he told them, or at least... the censored version of it: i.e. the version that wouldn't give his parents a heart attack.

It was silent, deathly silent. Well at least it was when it involved the older people in the room; Hannah and Lewis were too busy squealing and playing with the few pokemon Huey had let out of their pokeballs. "Honey, Honey, look over here Honey!" the Munchlax whirled around, unsure which voice to pay attention to, but eventually Hannah, who held a doughnut behind her back, won out and the pokemon happily scurried over to her side. Lewis pouted at this favoritism, but the expression didn't stay long enough before his attention was drawn to Cloud, who toddled this way and that, lifting up bits of furniture or diving behind crawl spaces in an attempt to explore. "No wait.. Cloud, don't go in there." much to the Togepi's dismay he was pulled back from underneath the couch, but instantly settled down and peered up curiously at person who looked a lot like his trainer, save for his eyes, and carried about the same shy demeanor. "Pri~" he chirped happily, his hand reaching up to yank at a hair happily, much to Lewis' displeasure.
"So." his father was the first to speak. Eyebrows furrowed, glance directed downward and mouth pulled into a tight frown, he found himself struggling to find the right words. "You were invited by a Gastly to a ball...""Right.""To a ball that had some sort of extreme time difference?""Mhm.""A few hours in there meant... several days, if not weeks, went by in the real world?" Huey gave a sharp nod, looking to one adult after the next before his gaze settled onto his sister, who had yet to say a word. "Well that's..""It's quite the little mystery!" his mother interjected, taking over the conversation and steering it in a new direction. "Well, Huey.. we're just glad to have you back." the woman stood to her feet, ushering for the other three to follow suit. "Well, as I'm sure you well aware, you missed out on celebrating a few important dates-- including your birthday." the woman gave a soft sigh, still walking, and rounded the corner, her voice sounding a bit muffled and at times unintelligible as the sound of moving objects could be heard. "--accumulated quite a few presents.." the boy tilted his head, though showed signs of obvious interest. "--might as well give them to you now!" she returned, a few well wrapped boxes in her hands. "Don't just stand there." she beamed above her mountain of gifts. "Come over here and open them!"

Five minutes into the present opening and wrapping paper was strewn across the floor, Cloud had made himself a colorful paper crown, and Huey's bag was just a bit heavier than it had been when he'd first arrived home. "Thank you." he thanked his parents, the majority of his gifts having been paid with their money, but turned the gratitude towards Andrew and Angelia as well. "Oh! One, or well two, more things." Andrew pushed himself off the couch, hand already moving towards the belt that held several different pokeballs. "You remember Dutch, right?" bright eyes grew even brighter at the mention of the Granbull his stepbrother cared for and had been a playmate of his since the age of five.
Andrew smiled, taking note of his younger's brother interest and slow understanding. "Well, he's grown a bit restless and he's always trying to pick a fight with Angelia's pokemon." there was a snort from Angelia's section of the couch, which was ignored. "How about it? Would you mind taking him with you?" not much thought was put into Huey's decisions and the boy nodded furiously. "Yeah! I'll take him, he'll be a great asset to my team!" he already had a fairy-type, Prim, but there was no harm in adding another. Besides, from what he could remember Dutch had a good move-set. Andrew nodded, pleased by the answer, and took the pokeball off the belt to hand it to the boy. "Take good care of him, alright? And don't go accepting anymore invitations from ghost pokemon."
Next up was Angelia, though her introduction was less verbose and plain blunt. "She's a Hydreigon, doesn't have a name but I imagine you'll change that." the woman cracked her knuckles twice, tossing the red and white capsule up and down into her hand her expression still unreadable. "You take care of her and she'll take care of you." Huey nodded once more, taking the pokeball with silent thanks. His sister had said very little since he'd heard his tale, though the usually boisterous and volatile woman had been reduced to an appropriate volume nun-- which was never good. But there wasn't much he could do, at least nothing he could think of.
"Oh, before I forget!" Huey turned back to Andrew. "Andrew. Can I have you take care of a pokemon of mine?" the redhead tilted his head to the side, bangs sliding past his bandaged eye and across the other. "Sure, bud. Who am I caring for?" the young blonde pulled Lily's pokeball out in lieu of answering, carefully placing it into his open palm. "Lily, she's a Lillipup. I don't think she'll be much trouble." the Breeder nodded, closing his hand around the orb. "Yeah, you can count on me."

Once gifting was done the next step was to, of course, use a few of them. Huey settled down and dug out four TM's, setting them out in order of which pokemon would receive which. Tybalt was first, being the closest-- though that could've been due to the fact that he hadn't tore himself away from Huey's side since they'd arrived-- and he was taught Dazzling Gleam. "This will certainly help me with upcoming battles, especially against dragon-types." he spoke thoughtfully, only to clam up when Hannah got too close with Honey close behind. "Hold on a second, Honey." he reached out for her, the TM Frustration in his palm, and quickly taught her the move before releasing her to continue chasing after Hannah and her never ending treats.
The other two were used on Cloud and Prim, the former of whom found the process odd-- but like everything else found it exciting as well, and afterwards danced about until remembering Lewis and hurrying back to him. Prim took the experience as an odd one, and afterwards didn't hesitate to yank at a strand of blonde hair; as always, it was painful and the boy had the dreadful suspicion that she'd do that at least once every visit out of her pokeball.
Afterwards, Huey spent his time with his family. Even without the whole Halloween Ball debacle, he'd been growing homesick. He wasn't going to spend too long home, however, he only had one badge to his name and he wanted that to change fairly soon.

The great thing about having younger siblings, Huey found out, was that once you left off on you own to explore the big, wide world they pretty much saw you as a god. "Huey, how many pokemon have you seen!?" Hannah was the first to shoot off a question, having finally decided to show her brother attention rather than just his pokemon. "Uhm, I dunno... a lot I guess." the eight year old pursed her lip, trying to decide if 'a lot' was a satisfactory answer. "Uh, at least a hundred." the boy quickly amended and watched as the little girl became awestruck. "Woooah! Really? I wanna see a hundred pokemon!" she turned her attention to her father, her happy expression contorting into the classic 'Lillipup-eyes', "Daddy, can I visit Professor Elm now and get my starter like Huey?"
The man took one look at his daughter and found his resolve crumbling like a sand castle. He took a breath and parted his lips, prepared to give her the answer she wanted before Angelia interjected. "No way. You're far too young to be by yourself. Besides, don't you remember telling me that you wanted me to teach you more about dark-type pokemon this summer?" while Hannah thought on this, Angelia took the time to elbow her stepfather in the ribs before she gave him a meaningful look; one that Huey didn't miss and didn't fail to laugh at.
"How many pokemon have you caught?" Huey refocused his attention when Lewis spoke up and smiled down at him, unable to help but to puff out his chest at the amount of respect his younger brother looked at him with. "Ten." he answered quickly, and then just as quickly deflated when he realized how low of a number that was. "Oh wow! That's a lot!" Lewis breathed, oddly enough impressed with the low number. "And you had to battle them too?" at his older brother's nod he seemed to grow even more amazed and quickly pulled something from his pocket.
"Here! I almost forgot to give this to you." Huey blinked in surprise when he found an object thrust into his hand and uncurled his fingers to peer down at the peculiar item. "I found it the other day, momma says it fell from the sky." Lewis boasted, a shy smile causing his mouth to curve. "Oh, hey thanks Lewis." he smiled back at him, instantly tucking it away for safe-keeping. He'd inquire more about the item later-- it looked like it had more than just sentimental value to it, but one could never be certain from looks alone-- but for now he simply smiled and continued to thank his brother, who seemed absolutely giddy that his gift was so well-received.

Giovanni could smell it in there air that he was nearly hone as the train cane to a halt in the Goldenrod station. He was hungry, but his first mark on the list was Whittney. Just as before he ran down to the Gym. He noticed there was a few new names on the list this time so he Miltank had to be better now. Rushing headstrong in Gio didnt even take the time to admire the Clefairy set up the Gym haf laid out. There she was poised in front of him. She looked upset but a good battle can make anyone get happy. "Alright Whittney, your mine. Im back and this time your Pokemon had better be not sick"
He reached bashfully down to his belt and attempted to grab his Steelix's ball. "Ill bet you stuggle just as much as Misty did with this one." he let the Pokemon out but only to find he grabbed his Aegislashs ball instead. Lucario on the other hand saw this Ghost type Pokemon and felt it could be used to Gio's advantage. It eleminated a strong plethora of her attacks and made it more likely that Gio would win. Prehaps that trip to Kanto had turned Gio back into his normal systematic type advatage self.
