And again, Ash had to try and paint a rose. Luckily the one she chose was tame and let herself be painted without complaint. As she finished a treasure chest dropped from the shuddering bush. She took her loot before leaving. She liked the gardens. They were nice and not dungeony. Sure,she could end up lost, but at least she wouldn't be in a dungeon. Though...she wasn't sure how she felt about gardeners arguing. Especially when their attentions turned to her. "What? Oh no," she said, "I have no idea-" and then they were gone. Leaving her standing there with brush in her hand. OK. She would...try. How hard could it be to paint a few roses? Surely not too difficult. Just take a bit of paint, dab it on a rose..yes! Just like that. She smiled. This was easy-- Or not. The rose she was painting most certainly just whipped her. Out of the blue! "Ouch!" She scowled at it. It seemed the thing wanted a fight. That was fine. She could fight it. Why would anything be easy anyway? Pulling out her cards, and her watch, she gave that rose a nice solid hit. It continued hitting her, too. Darn annoying thing. She hit the grumpy plant again, watching as it more or less died. ...She had failed at painting a rose. Really. The easiest job...and instead, all she had to show for it was a dead rose. Oops. Yes, surely if she just quickly painted a few, no one would miss one dead one. She just had to be quick, and gentle. Though, it seemed the roses didn't like gentle. The rose didn't stop attacking. Waffleberry smushed it flat. Like a pressed and dried rose, only much fresher (it was still twitching) and less dried. "Told you." Now...if she could just paint a few to cover up her blunder...she could be on her way. She's not very bright, either. pfft!" "Hey now." She scowled at the rose tree. That seemed to be where the voices where coming from. "I--" "Are a great big dense bully. Picking on use like that." ...The roses. The roses were talking. And they were being rude. "I'll have you know, they attacked me first." "So? That face of yours was just asking for it. I mean. It's pretty insulting all on it's own." Scowling, Waffleberry placed a generous amount of paint on rose. "So is yours." "Ahh! Ugly bully! Meany!" They started tossing more insults at her. They got worse, too. She scowled at them. How on earth had this tree gotten so very rude? Why was she painting it? Why was she standing here taking this? Ugh. Taking her paintbrush, she covered one more rose in red. It yelled at her for it. "Ahh! The monster is painting me! It's going to get it's human cooties on meee!" "I don't know why I'm putting up with this. I am so done." Dropping the paintbrush, she turned and walked away. Really. She didn't need to stand there and listen to that. Silly her for standing there that long.
