Ethelfleade moved to the front when pointed out by the man who was leading the scoutings. Herself a shifter and an alkidike had been chosen, and when told, she followed them away from the rest of the crowd. Her sword was hanging in it's sheath on her belt and the weight of it calmed her down. "I'm Fleade." She introduced herself quietly to the two others who had also been chosen. That was when she received the shocking news. Keeping her voice down as she followed the leaf tribe leader, "Less than two miles out? War will be coming quickly then..." She mused, how could they come so close and their leaders not tell them that the threat was so close? It angered her somewhat, but it was over quickly as she knew she needed a level head for the scouting ahead of her.

Senja post #5
Senja spotted Rastian coming towards and couldn't help but smiling. So much smaller than the majority of the people in the crowd. "That's Rastain," she said to Niadra pointing him out. She reached out and patted his cheek after he spoke. "Don't worry, I know where I'll be working and what to do. Niadra will be with me so I'm sure we'll be okay." She heard the call to gather before she could respond to his compliment. Instead, she stood up on her tip-toes to give him a quick kiss on the cheek before linking arms with Niadra and sashayed away after giving him a wink and saucy grin, "Come back alive and I'll give you a hero's welcome~"
Rayolun #5 Rayolun gave a nod to the stranger Alkidike and Ethelfleade. "Nice to meet you, I'm Rayolun" he said quietly before turning his attention back to Enki.
He followed Enki as they left the staging grounds behind. "Only 2 hours? That's close. Do you know if they have scouts out as well?" If they did.. well, a preemptive attack from above would certainly get rid of that worry. And 2 hours meant not a lot of time to gather information, but hopefully it would be enough to give them an edge in battle.
Mella Post 5- healer’s tents Taking the herbs she blushed red enough that she thought she might burst on fire which would not have been good for the herbs. “No, I might have some friends but I haven’t really seen anyone yet. I kind of left a bit later than I thought I would.” She focused more on the slave than anything else in the tent. She heard someone call the name of someone else in the tent but she didn’t look up not wanting to interrupt any private moments. “umm.. Alek I think it was that herb than comes next?” She pointed to one that was just out of her reach near the ice boy and looked to Biroki to see if it was correct.

BarAmal Post 5 healer’s tents “Isd I had only just gotten back went the call came.” BarAmal rubbed his palm around the cut disliking the sting and talk of infection. “mm Just a quick stop in the healers tent, they will have more than enough to keep them busy soon enough.” Spotting the tents he noticed a good number of prentices around. Betoto was there. “Betoto.” Surprised as he was he didn’t think if she was busy or not. “You’re here as well?”

Uquin Post 7 --> Healing Tents
Really, it was for the best that Uquin tell himself his sister wasn't out there on the battlefield - it meant he wouldn't be distracted by worries, hopefully. Shaking himself from a temporary moment of hesitation, Uquin nodded to the man - Alek, he'd introduced himself as. "Uquin" He said, loud enough for Alek to hear, before once again attending to rolling out cots, freeing some room in the corner. Once done, he returned to sorting through the bags, pulling out a few herbs and leaves he'd never seen before.
He felt a little in over his head, to be honest - but it was best to focus on what he could do, rather than sink into the list of things he realized he knew nothing about. What he DID hear was a woman's voice outside - calling for those with healing experience. With a soft laugh he realized that meant that Biroki, who had been showing them the ropes, would probably be called away at this point. Uquin, for one, didn't count as a healer with any sort of experience after all. A few of the healers that had been in the tent perked at this order and left their preperations to go report to that voice - which must belong to some kind of leader. Setting his own bag aside, Uquin stepped to the edge of the tent and peeked through one of the flaps at the edge, watching the group gathering with morbid curiosity. "Things are getting more tense." He noted, with a frown.
Sathe let their hands fall apart and felt a little more at ease now that she had something better to look forward to after the war was over. Sathe stood up, eager to do what she could to help Gaddok. She fumbled with the things she had been working on before gathering what she could. "Of course you should take some." She pressed as many bandages and even more salves and creams as she could into Gaddok's hands. If it would help keep him safe and from being hurt, she would load him down with them.
"It looks like it is that way, doesn't it?" She frowned at the sudden announcement of their forced break from conversation. "Stay safe out there. I mean it." She squeezed a hand again, wanting to do more to comfort him and, if being honest, to comfort herself.
Gaddok: Post 7
He let out a laugh as she began loading him down with a bunch of medical supplies. Gaddok wasn't entirely sure he even knew what their uses were, but he was sure they would not go to waste. Stripping off his knapsack, Gaddok began packing away the supplies, then hoisted the pack back onto his shoulders, "I appreciate this, Sathe."
A smile curved his lips as he pulled her close, softly kissing her cheek, "Stay safe as well. Tending to the wounds of the injured will be a harrowing task, though you may not realize it yet." Gaddok met Sathe's eyes, taking her in for one last moment, then slipped out of the tent.
Duke Edward Drake
Looking both ways before exiting the tent, Gaddok merged seamlessly into the crowd and began his search, "Kiyelt~!" He hollered over the crowds, making his way from one side of the white sea of healer tents to the other. They had only parted for what seemed like a few minutes, he couldn't have gone far. Gaddok had assumed he would be getting healing supplies as well, but which tent?
"Kiyelt~ We should probably be going..." He proceeded to call while peeking in each tent as he went, "Where have you gone?" He muttered to himself while looking around, suddenly becoming overwhelmed by the number of tents there were to search, and the time that seemed to be slipping through his fingers.

Gerraden Post 5
Still surprised that Jerarda had left he was slightly thankful for it. Though he didn't want to admit he was jealous, all her touchy feely with his dream boy was not something that sat well with him. But he had to push such thoughts aside they were going to fight in a war after all and if the older woman was leaving he would just to try extra hard to make sure that Rishima didn't get hurt. And Rishima seemed really close to her...so he couldn't very well tell him that he couldn't be near her right?
"Well I think its best if we stick together, though in the chaos it may prove more difficult to keep each others backs...but I know I will do my best and try and keep you all safe." He beamed at Rishima and the few who were still around. He wondered if Ray would come back to join them...it would be much harder to watch his 'brothers' back if he had no idea where he was.
Leaning on her spear she watched as people looked uncomfortable, some scared, others blank. The range of emotions was anticipated but perhaps it was the ones who help no emotion on their faces that bothered her the most. You shouldn't shut away your feelings...not during such a crucial time. Looking over as Yansa approached her and spoke to her she nodded her head and straightened to show more respect to her elder.
"Sister." She echoed the greeting before she turned slightly to look over the masses gathered. Sighing she shook her head before leaning in to Yansa,
"We both know this war shouldn't be happening. The people we are fighting are not the true enemy..we should be gathering together to fight...not fight each other." She whispered looking at the people again, wondering just how many lives would be sacrificed in Oba's claim for dominance. It was a strange thing for one like Jerarda to want to fight together, when she was young she held the same prejudices as most of her sisters, but it seemed time and experience had taught her many things. Tolerance and acceptance being some of them.
Sighing she knew it would be pointless at this point to grumble, but she felt that her voice needed to be heard. "Where do you want me sister?"

Takoda Post 3
Takoda had to resist rolling his eyes at his mates comment about doing stupid things. Instead he just lightly elbowed his lover in the stomach before taking a deep breath, a small smile on his lips despite everything. One hand reached to take ahold of Jacinthus's and he squeezed it tightly before be looked a bit startled as he heard a voice calling for healers or anyone with healing experience. Taking another breath he let it out slowly this time before looking to Jacinthus trying not to look sad.
"Looks like they need me, so..I suppose this is goodbye for now." He murmured as he went to give Jacinthus a quick kiss as he still found it a bit weird with Chalcedony being near them. He then looked to the shield user and his lovers sister a slight flush on his face.
"Look after each other okay?" The monk murmured before he moved off to locate Enlil and Vescillea. If they wanted the healers to be on the battle feild..then he had a duty to go and follow orders. He couldn't help but feel uneasy at the idea of leaving his lover and the rest of their strange family behind... but he wasn't the one calling the shots was he?
Keilana wasn't sure how to feel with Takoda leaving, it made her feel more on edge. As if him leaving made the likeliness of them all dying a sudden and legitimate thing to worry about now. Cursing under her breath she looked away from her brother and the father of her boys. Like a mother beast she felt as if everything screamed for her to go back and find her two boys. Who cares about the war as long as she could keep Aysun and Chandra safe.
Of course...being in the war meant that she was trying to protect them from a much larger threat. They weren't sure what the people of Oba would be like...why they wanted to attack ...and what their purpose was. Grinding her teeth she found that her jaw was beginning to get sore.
She was getting impatient, the idea of scouting ahead sounded promising...something to do, but she was so quick to anger she probably wasn't the best to send to scout...unless they wanted her to murder a bunch of people she came across...
"So..should we stick together? Or do you think you will be called away Jacinthus?" She inquired as he had made a point of stating that Chal and herself would most likely be stuck together.

Borra Post 3
Licking his lips he wondered just what he would need to do, after all it wasn't like he could fight..then again neither could Eira but she was certainly good at giving orders. He had seen some children here and he had to wonder...why. Though..if their mothers and fathers were going to fight it made sense that if they had no other family they would need to be looked after by someone. But why here? Wouldn't it make more sense to take the children further away?
His gaze tended to linger on the children as they ran past a part of himself feeling rather heavy to know such innocence was being displayed here.
"I wonder..why the children were brought here...if the people we are fighting end up this close there isn't anything they can do.." Borra wondered aloud, though perhaps it should of been kept to himself such dark thoughts.
Sin'qua Post 3
A death glare was shot to Eira at the nickname, Sinny? Oh no she didn't...the urge to get up from where she was sitting and wrap her fingers around the arrogant 'perky' and well endowed woman was very very tempting. Though bristling with anger and contempt for the woman she managed to remain sitting probably due to the level head of Makani beside her. Looking to him it was probably a good thing he was blind otherwise he would of seen how much she was scowling at him.
"I can't stand women like her...flaunting her assets just to blindside the men she come across....it makes me sick." She muttered crossing her arms across her chest, "I would say I was the last person to be considered her 'friend'. I am only here to make sure she doesn't try and do the same thing to my brother...though he seems too dim to notice her obvious attempts of flirting with him." Though she was speaking out loud her voice was low...as if she didn't want the others to hear the mean things she was saying about Eira. After all if she was going to need to stick around with this...'troupe' of hers she would have to stay on ...'good' terms with her right?
As Makani explained his purpose here she realized how..very much alike they were in that sense. Her brother was an idiot. Eira was naive. Gyuri was...like Makani said only one man and what if he was called to fight somewhere else?
"I am...jealous....you at least have magic to help..I don't have anything ..." she murmured softly feeling a bit on the naive side now as well. So focused on trying to make sure Eira didn't seduce her brother she forgot the much larger picture...which was the war.
Just letting you know that Nua is where he is, I guess?

[Nuawahn -> Ogbonna / probaby rastian too sortakinda? And other defensive magic users and defense people -> the gathering forces]
"Kay!" Nuawahn called cheerfully. He swung himself off of his seat on the rock and skipped over to where the defensive rear line was starting to build, La'amu following sedately. He needed beads, and was about to start looking for them again - silly him getting interrupted! - when he realized he had some beads in his bag - silly him, forgetting the pretty beads he'd bought in Zidel!
They weren't exactly magic beads, but he figured they might work. He gave them a try, using them as a conduit for the light magic he favored. He took the glow as a good sign and smiled, bright, cheerful, and very out of place. Now he just had to wait for Ogbonna and he could be off!
[Dyakida -> Aminah -> Armory]
Dyakida had begun to fidget, wondering if she should find that shifter who was organizing the people left behind. But no, it was best to wait for Kaalnia to return and Peyla to wake up, and besides... she was still hopeful that Kaalnia would actually find people for her to talk to.
There wasn't much time, and Dyakida was starting to lose hope that she would be able to talk with her friends before they entered the realm of uncertainty beyond the camp.
Finally, though, a familiar voice in the chaos. "Aminah?" she asked, surprised. The half-shifter's voice sounded very different than it had before - more mature, she supposed. Older. Wiser. It was probably Aminah, then, though she and her sister sounded similar. Also, She had mentioned Dyakida was looking for her, so that made it likely. She perked up, somehow happy that the other woman had sat down... the vibrations let her know where she was.
"I was looking for you, yes. I'm glad Kaalnia found you. I was worried that... No matter." She held out a hand towards Aminah's voice, palm up and empty. "I wanted to tell you that I am grateful for your friendship. I value it, very much so..." her face creased in an expression of uneasily thoughtful concern. She felt rushed, and the words did not come out as she had hoped they would. No matter. She would still say what she needed to say to her friend. "I don't like the idea that we may be saying goodbye. So I won't say it." she said candidly, almost frustratedly so, "I will just ask you why you are fighting. I want to know your reasons." she said, "If that is fine with you."

Biroki is letting Antiope know that he's got healing experience
[Ruelash -> Iroia -> Sparrin!!!]
Ruelash had a slight cooldown from when he did his downward stab and when he could dodge. It wasn't much, but it was something, and he knew it. He saw her about to take advantage of his momentary vulnerability, and he grinned with glee. That was exactly what he would have done. Exactly - to the move. It was a nice bait and switch, and he almost got hit by it. He dodged back the moment his muscles would allow, getting a scratch on his calf as he arranged himself into a tense crouch. "Nice one." he said, grinning. He was readying another pounce when he noticed something out of the corner of his eye - the scouts, an Alkidike, a shifter male, and an ice woman, leaving the camp. "Chi's breath. They're leavin' already? Lucky bastards... gonna see the action first.." he muttered, turning back to his sparring partner.
[Biroki -> ALL DEM PRENTICES and Antiope-> Healing tent]
Biroki nodded affirmation. "C-correct." he said. That was the right herb. He turned to Alek.
"Its f-fine. Everybody is sort of scattered right now, so..." he listened to the growing crowd nearby, and the familiar shifter woman who was commanding them, or attempting to. He supposed he should go out there at some point. After he got the prentices set up here.
"Alek?" he held out a hand to shake, "Z-zuri talks of you often. I'm glad you two got to talk..." He gestured, "You can help with just about... anything, maybe help Mella with salve... or..." he winced slightly, "K-keep an eye on the stuff on the fire, would you? Make sure it doesn't bubble over... if it starts to, just, uh, move it off."
He glanced towards the entrance to the tent. Yeah, he probably should go out there. Make sure she knew he was managing things here. "S-sounds like it..." he said, half to Uquin, and half to himself as he took a deep breath and tried to be Sage-y. "You all keep things going in here..." he said, and then walked out, trying to be confident as he stepped into the crowd and moved to the front.
"I have healing experience." he spoke up, "And I have a few p-prentices with me in the tents already." he wished he could not stammer when in front of all these people and, especially, Antiope. He owed her... twice over, actually... once for healing his mother after the incident with the spirit and once for...
and once for saving him from himself.
"We've already started making basic salve and setting out palletes." he added.
The Alkidike nodded to Rayolun and 'Fleade, giving them both a quick once-over. She felt rather tall, more so than usual.
In the past, she had certainly met and talked with Earthlings of all kinds, but she had never gone on a mission with any and certainly not taken orders from one. There was a first time for everything, she supposed. Racial bias had no place in this war. Everyone had to come together, lest they all lose their homes and freedom to the Oba.
"Bhima," was all she offered before turning to Enki. Of course they'd have scouts. She could only hope that they had made it out first.

Kiyelt gathered a few supplies that were in a pile meant for outfitting others he thought, just simple stuff a salve and two badages. There were actual healers for the rest, he could hopefully stop his own bleeding and get a head start on infection with this. He saw his new aquaintance wander off, glimsing into a tent he caught Mella's eye and waved before he was off to find out where prospective whip weilders were to go. Passing by the defensive lines he saw a familiar cheerful face. What in the world was the ever gentle Nua doing in the heavy defense? ACK!
"Nua!" he called and rushed over, checking him, prematurely for cuts, abrasions and any other injuries. "Um," how to say this...."What cha doin?" He settled for simple.
He heard his name called over the crowd and turned, bringing Gaddock over with his waving arms. "Nua this is Gaddock, he helped me to get Norcrest my other sailscale."

Iroia smirked as she saw she was not the only one with a scratch. Her eyes lit up like a kid just handed a plate of cookies when Ruelash turned, she dropped her own knives and pounced him sitting on his upper chest and pinning his knives to the ground. She giggled and stared at him, "Well we can't miss all the action, I'll have to wrestle my fair share out of whats available. Come back in one piece would you? I'd hate to loose such a fun sparring partner after I got a taste." She scrambled off and grabbed for her twins feeling better with the cool metal snugged into her hands.
