Ying sighed with relief as she collected the last of her coins.
She returned all ten to the creature, politely tapping him to do so. "Um sir... h-here are your coins." He grunted and handed her a key. It was clear she wasn't needed anymore, so she left.

Ying entered a room, dark and miserable. It was hard to see anything, but she could make out a tiny gargoyle.
"Yes ... I suppose you would be here in this den of sorrow. Not that it matters. I'm sure you're here to use me, just like everyone else in this wretched stone wasteland." Ying didn't understand, but she didn't say anything either. She didn't want to alert the creature.
"You can have it, I don't need material possessions, they just lead to suffering for worldly vice. But first I need to know you're like...a kindred spirit, you know?"
Ying nodded, but was worried. She really wasn't a kindred spirit- Ying was almost always in an optimistic mood. She was a chipper one, never really looking down unless it was really bad. "Um I-"
Something came over her. A great urge. For poetry
Drowning in a darkness
Of deep despair
Believing the lies I hear
And seeing truths not there
Hearing the tear drops
Falling from your eyes
Believe my hidden secrets
I don't believe your lies
A heavy sigh filled the air. "Oh well...it's not like I had hope for better." Ying frowned, but she didn't know why. The poem hadn't been her own ...
Well she had her key, that was what mattered.
