Yeah, well there are plenty of cultures that have thier mythologies passed down as oral traditions, b ut we still know what they are. If you really were serious you'd be more willing to answer my questions, even just a few words. Why are you so unwilling to answer me? Why are you so shocked and stunned that there's someone out there who's not just going to listen to you adnd say "Hey wow that's cool".

I think that nobody's actually listening to what I am arguing, and it's pissing me off. I am not saying that you're not a witch hunter. I'm not saying that witch hunters don't exist. You said that "warlock" is an Old English word that means witch hunter. It's not. You can call yourself whatever you want, personally I don't give a crap. But, if you're going to say that "witch" is an ancient Celtic word for gardener, well you need something to back it up with.

3.)In times past, Witches had "Craft names" in order to protect each others mundane identities so that if tortured, they could not reveal the 'real' names of their companions - at least that was the theory. Those who did expose fellow coveners to the Witch hunters were called warlocks - a term that to this day still means "traitor", and does not mean 'male witch'. Today, we still use Craft names, not so much for secrecy, as to help us change mental gears, so to speak. Did I say it was a lie? No, I said translating the word in that way is a bit of a stretch, but now that he's answered my question clearly, I understand what he's saying.

BUT, I do want to know how it works today. The witches they killed in the middle ages are far from what witches are today. So, I will ask again, why do they hunt witches, and what falls under the category of witch. If they hunt witches for the same reason they hunted witches then, they are living in the past and ignoring certain information. Besides, especially when we talk about the hunts in Salem, it's been shown that most of not all of the accused witches weren't witches at all. Bakc then everyone functioned on the idea that Wicthes were working for Satan. A cursory look into witchcraft practices today will show that's not true today. Unless however you're talking about satanists and satanic witches, which is something different altogether.

well, all I'm going to say further on the subject is that if you know that members of your family are murdering people in cold blood, no matter how indoctrinated you were or how much you care about them, if you care about other people you have the responsibility to do something about it. If you just let it happen, you're no better. And, even if it's just like the mafia, there are protection programs so fear for your life is not the end all be all excuse.

And, even though I don't think the people who run Gaia care, but if they did and they had reason to believe that you know someone who goes around murdering people they could go to the police themselves if they were so inclined.

I would wrather see the entire human race, (Which I view as the green stuff on a rotten orange) Become extinct. Then turn an individual in for something they believe in. Also I never mentioned that I have seen anyone Killed only tortured. And torture is not illegal. Otherwise some peoples Sexual practices would be illegal.

So....they catch them, toture them, and then let them go? And, nobody's gone to the police or done anything about it? And, besides didn't you say you got out because of the legalities involved? If it's not technically illegal then why use that as a reason?

And....there's no reason to bump the thread. I do sleep, and I do have a real life and can't be on the computer 24/7.
