"It seems the matter has been resolved, she believed she was being ignored by a trader" replied Suuanth to Tyeth, "She is happier again now" She settled herself better. "Perhaps Yours can go and find her soon" she advised with a large yawn. She was debating taking a nap since it was so warm... and she was very comfy alongside her favorite dragon.

NPC Journeywoman Weaver - Trine Weyr Weavers' BoothThe Journeywomen considered Xan for a long moment, and then nodded. She smiled, seeming more friendly now. "All right, 1 and 1/8th seems fair. I couldn't have gone lower than that, for certain. Would you like wrapping for it?" she inquired as she lifted the rug and folded it in half for easier transport.

[Rochelle] She snickered and stuck close to him (as she was wont to do), eyes squinted to survey the vast wonders of the Gather. Or - something along those lines, she didn't really feel too at ease around huge bustling masses right now. While the attacks at Malvren never escalated to huge groups attacking - at least never her - something about the loud noises and the push of bodies against her unnerved the glass crafter. "I like people," she said after a long moment. Rochelle edged even closer to him. "Most of the time. Just this... yeah, I'm alright with doing whatever. I just don't want to be touching anyone right now, present company excluded. Whatever is fine. Let's go poke at a harp for you. Okay?"

Dizzian
Dizzian looked away at the ground. "Uh no... I didn't find anything else." She bent to pick up her books, clutching them to her chest protectively. Hekate was babbling and that made her feel even worse. Had her friend not wanted her to come back and find her? Maybe she'd wanted to go 'somewhere private' with that wherrie's arse. Did she have to mention Courath's ability to fly too? Dizzian's cheeks burned and she couldn't bring herself to look at her friend. No matter what the healers said Dizzian had no idea if Courath would actually fly. She held this little ball of anxiety that her stupid actions had grounded her dragon forever.
She flexed her toes, feeling the sandy dirt beneath her bare feet. "I don't think I need boots..." Besides the fact she hated wearing shoes...there was no point in buying riding boots if she'd never actually ride Courath. "I might just head back home and read..." She finally glanced up with a weak smile. If Hekate wanted her gone then at least she had an out.
Courath extended a feeling of understanding to Devith. ~ I never doubted your intentions. ~ Her reassurance of her favorite sibling was cut short at the surplus of emotion from her own rider. The green's head whipped around and she gave a small creel of distress, eyes whirling with yellow once again. ~ Mine don't think like that. We will fly. I will not be stopped by a little scarring. We will not be stopped by Anything. ~
~ That's more than a little scarring Courath...You were nearly killed. And don't tell me it wasn't my fault. ~ There was bitterness in her mental response.
Z'fer Z'fer would almost rather deal with N'mol and Tyeth again... he'd rather get back in the ring with Carltis AND Siata, just about anything would be preferable to seeing another weyrling on the verge of tears. This one he didn't even care for! ~ Greens...~ He waited for Hekate to figure out what to do with her friend. He didn't want to play peace keeper anymore. There'd been entirely too many emotions in his day already. He hoped the girl would do as she said and leave to read her books. He didn't really want to share his promised quiet time with anyone else. Z'fer moved his hand up to Hekate's arm, gently massaging the muscle just below her shoulder in a sign of support.
Cai ((She's not a wherhandler ^_^ Cai's an apprentice healer. ))
She only had two marks... and while 1 1/8th might not have been a bad price for simple linen pants, she didn't want to spend half her budget on a pair that wouldn't fit. She wasn't vain but it just wasn't practical, they'd get caught on something and tear before she knew it. The commission offer was tempting... and she could justify spending that much on a tailored pair at least. "You said at Stall Prices. A commission would be 1 1/8th mark then?" She didn't simper or flirt like the other woman at the stall. Cai's questioning was direct as she met the weaver's eyes with her own grey ones.
Smithhall Vendors The smith stroked his chin, placing his hammer back into hiding since he wouldn't be needing it. "For a woman you say..." Sturdy but decorative...with the recent events the smith could only assume he meant it to be a potential weapon. A common belt knife would work in a pinch...and the blades were meant to handle everyday use without trouble. "For something decorative, normally a new blade straight from us would run you at least 3 marks or more depending upon what you had in mind. The fancier of course the higher the price. If you're just looking for something vaguely girlish then I might be able to do you a favor. I got a couple belt knives stowed away. Good, solid knives that'll stand up to some abuse. The handles are wooden but for 3 Marks I can send one to the woodcrafters here at Trine to carve up nice and pretty for you."

Had her remark about Courath flying really upset Dizzian that much? Perhaps her friend still held reserves about if her dragon would make it into the air. Hekate personally never doubted the green and her rider's prowess for even a second.
Though the fact that Devith and her were between bound to see their friends being able to fly even if the silver and Hekate had to haul them into their air by the straps themselves might have had something to do with it. Glancing up at Z'fer Hekate let out a mental sigh. His gentle rubbing of her arm felt so good and she was reluctant to leave the wingleader, but her loyalties were clear. Stepping up Hekate wrapped an arm loosely around her friends shoulders pulling the other weyrling into a hug as Devith circling them nosing his sister's rider gently.
"Hey now~" Hekate began her voice soft as she gave Dizzian's shoulder a little squeeze. "Of course you're going to need riding boots. Big thick ones too. Why I bet Devith and I will have to haul you two out of the sky by a rope like a kite you'll be up in the air so often." She assured her friend giving Dizzian a warm smile.
Mine is right sister though I know not how we will attached this rope. Devith rumbled to his sibling his voice light with good humor hoping to ease dragon as well as rider.
"But if you don't feel like looking at boots we could go back to our weyr and you can tell me about what treasures you liberated from the Harper's." Hekate vouched attempting to draw her friend from her shell as she glanced back at Z'fer. "Would you mind if I took you up on your offer another time Wingleader?" She questioned a small apologetic smile on her lips hoping to save Z'fer from having to deal with a second emotional weyrling.

Dizzian
She was kind of startled when Hekate unwrapped herself from Z'fer's grip and came to her side instead. Startled, but pleased. She was still upset...and still wanted to get out of there, but her friends tease did manage to get a faint smile from the greenrider. "They can wait... I think I just need to go be quiet for a while... Don't let me interrupt." With an apologetic look she gently shrugged her way from Hekate's arm and took a step back.
Courath snorted, still concerned for her rider. ~ I won't need ropes to fly. I have wings that work just fine. ~ Ever consious of her surroundings Courath spread her one free wing straight up into the air. The shoulder joint of her injured one shifted as if trying to straighten as well but it's movement was restricted in the sling. She folded them slowly and moved to offer a support to her rider. ~ We can come back later. Mine wants to be alone right now. She'll be fine. ~ She nudged Dizzian's hand, sliding her head up against the woman's side and accepting the absentminded rubbing with a deep thrumm.
Dizzian leaned into Courath's neck. "She's right. We can come back later. I'm going to go for now though." She pointed her toes in the direction of their barrack and waited a moment for Hekate's dismissal before turning away and making a hasty retreat.
Z'fer Z'fer wouldn't say he wasn't disappointed. Sharding people seemed intent on ruining his day today. He'd felt Hekate physically react to his caress and was looking forward to a candlemark or two alone with her. It was obvious the girl was upset though and if Hekate cared about her he couldn't very well voice his complaints. What had her so upset he couldn't fathom. He'd seen her earlier and she didn't seem so bothered about her dragon's wing. He didn't know what exactly was wrong with it but by the wrappings he could tell it had been well tended to at least. Most dragons could heal from wing fractures if properly cared for. She was fortunate she was young too.
He put on a polite smile for the two of them, even if he wasn't feeling it. "Of course Hekate. If you need me have Devith bespeak Calanoth. We won't be far."
~ Cal, make room. I need a nap. ~
~ There is always room for you Mine. ~

Of course you won't sister. You'll be the best flier the Weyr has ever seen Devith assured his sister lovingly stepping aside to allow her and Dizizan the freedom to pass as he stepped up to his own rider's side.
"All right if you're quite sure Dizzian." Hekate replied watching her friend leave with a slight frown, but content to let her be. After all Hekate herself needed her own private quiet time fairly often and Dizzian had never complained or intruded on it so Hekate would respect her friends wishes.
Half turning before Z'fer could head off she grinned at the obviously politely fake smile he'd been putting on. "Looks like you get to steal me away after all Z'fer. Come on~" Hekate coaxed stepped up to reach out and grasp his hand threading her slim fingers with his own larger calloused ones. "Let's go laze about in the shade and be worthless. Maybe dip our feet in the water. I'm sure Devith would love to stretch out with Calanoth." She joked flashing him one of her more brilliant smiles her eyes seeming to light up at the prospect.
Devith had already picked up his pace trotting away in front of the two towards one of the shadier grassier little coves. Hekate however settled for a slightly more leisurely pace tugging Z'fer along with her towards the water.

Z'fer might have purred with pleasure himself if that was something he did. It was enough that he had Hekate to himself though. "Sounds like a plan." He was more than willing to let her pull him along. It was obvious she already had a spot in mind as Devith shot ahead of them, parting what remained of the noonday crowd and letting them pass out of the gather with relative ease. ~ Looks like Hekate's got somewhere else in mind. Follow Devith. ~
The bronze groaned and grunted as he lumbered his bulk up out of the sand. Blinking bleary eyes he scanned the crowd for the silver hatchling and began moving in his direction. He didn't particularly want to give up his own cozy spot but lazing about with his rider was always better than without. If Z'fer called, Calanoth would come. ~ Where to Devith? ~ His pace was slow but the bronze's stride was more than long enough to keep up with the trotting hatchling.

Here Calanoth. Devith called up to his friend trotting along the sand and turning the corner into a smaller shaded little cove that formed around a little stream that fed into the lake where a few sparse trees still stood having yet to be taken for timber. While not far from the main events it at least gave a little seclusion from the press of the crowds and sparse grass met warm sand making for a perfect spot to nap for dragon and human alike. Settling himself down in the sand Devith stretched out with a large draconic yawn his eyes whirling a warm shade of green and blue in the afternoon sun and dappled shade.
Following Calanoth into the cove Hekate only released Z'fer's hand for a moment to pause bending to undo the laces of her sandals and pull the from her feet hiking up her pants to trot barefoot across the grassy sandy expanse to dip her feet in the shallow stream laying back on her back to grin up at Z'fer.
"Come on in~" She called swishing her feet in the water slightly a lazy smile crossing her lips. "The water's fine." Hekate joked motioning him to join her as her flits leaving her to play in the little ripples and rapids where the tiny stream met the lake or nap in the trees.

Calanoth nodded and joined Devith, arranging himself so his tail curved up close to the streams edge. Within moments he returned to his interrupted nap, content with the sun on his back and the company he kept.
Z'fer was highly aware of hand where it held her delicate fingers. The further they got from the noise of the gather the better he felt. The spot she'd chosen was good for their needs. As they caught up with their dragons he let her slip from his grip and trailed his now empty hand along Calanoth's sunbaked hide. As always when he approached his dragon he took a deep breath, inhaling the individual musky scent that was Calanoth. No flower, no food and no woman ever smelled better to Z'fer than that spicy scent Calanoth's hide bore. He maintained contact all the way down Calanoth's long side and to his tail where it curled around the place Hekate had chosen to rest. He hadn't even needed to ask.
He toed his boots off and rolled up the hem of his pants. As he sat down next to Hekate, Calanoth's tail subtly shifted closer, the narrow expanse before the spade coming to rest right behind them. Z'fer slid his feet into the warm waters, still expecting the shock of cold that used to come from Malvren's streams. Even on the warmest near tropical parts of the western continent, the water always ran cold. He sighed happily anyways and reclined against the pale bronze hide behind him. "Hekate~." He murmured, holding out his arm in an invitation to lay against him.
Now that things had settled down and there was nothing but Good Feelings coming from the two riders and their dragons, Klah and Fellis made their re-entrance. Surprisingly quite for flits, they circled lazily down and landed on Calanoth's tail near the riders. Fellis crooned Happy feelings and laid down immediately while Klah was chirping under his breath as he tried to wear a circle into the thick bronze hide beneath him.

Devith was content where he lay cracking one whirling eye open to double check on his rider, but made no motion to move from where he had settled and was content to rest next to Cal's large encircling form. The bronze seemed to form a nice little barrier isolating the two rider's in a little world all their own away from the press of the crowds and the hustle and bustle of the Weyr.
At Z'fer's offering arm Hekate smiled and tucked herself against his side resting her head snugly against his shoulder her eyes half lidded as the stream water played over her feet and about her ankles.
"Z'fer." She repeated his name back to him teasingly the slight purr of her accent caressing every syllable as her bright gold eyes half lidded beneath long eyelashes stared contently up at him. He smelled of leather, sweat, oil and dragon hide along with a muskier scent that Hekate could only identify as Z'fer.
Lifting one hand from where she lay tucked against his side she lazily toyed with his rank knots her small form melding with uncanny ease against his larger one. She admired the richness of Malvren's colors woven into the knots though in the back of her mind she wished they were Trine colors rather then that of the Western Sea Weyr.
For now though Hekate was content to just enjoy the quiet her eyes half lidded as the heat of the day wore down on her coaxing her to nap as her fingers grew bored with the knots and instead strayed to gently tracing the thread scar along Z'fer's neck.

((*Slaps face* I'm thinking of Siata. SORRY, DIZ. *Fixes fixes fixes* There. She is a healer again. XD All these new ladies. Getting mixed up. Also, I want Dizzian to meet Kala. I get the impression she's just the kind of easily-bowled-over person Kala would take under her wing.)) RiarnaRiarna nodded once, definitively, at Cai. The woman seemed to have no sense of humor and be rather judgemental, but at least she knew how to deal directly. This was the kind of customer she preferred to deal with. "Yes. 1 1/8 Marks, and for a pair of essentially tailored pants, it's an excellent price for the work you'll be getting. If that's what you'd prefer, I can take your measurements now, you pay up front, and you can pick up your purchase directly from the Weavers in a day or two." ----- N'molNmol stared back at the Smith for a moment. That would be a good price... and if they could complete the carving before the end of the Gather, he could bring Kindra with him to pick it up. No need to wait on getting a commissioned piece back from wherever the Smith was from. After the fuss he had caused at the booth, he also didn't want to irritate the Smith again by haggling for the item. 3 Marks was a good price; he wouldn't potentially ruin his chances at securing a good gift for Kindra by being cheap. "If it goes to the woodcrafters here, will the work be done before the end of the Gather?" That was his biggest concern now. He wanted to look around for Kindra, but didn't dare look away from his dealing with the Smith. He might be paying full price, but he wanted the man to understand that young and willing to pay didn't mean flighty or stupid.

[quote="Dizzy_Kat] [Xan] "Great!" Xan beamed and nodded. "Wrapping would be great, thank you." Maybe her haggling skills weren't so bad after all! Okay it wasn't a huge reduction but it was something at least. **************** [Kleos] "That sounds like an excellent deal indeed!" Kleos replied to the weaver with a warm smile; something that would fit for certain - fit well at that - and for the same price! "It is wonderful to meet such good and helpful crafters," the blonde continued, "I would be happy to be measured now; tan cloth for mine please." **************** [Carltis - For the Harper stall] Carltis tilted his head and looked down at Rochelle; she hadn't struck him as the sort to get discomforted by the bustle of a Gather. Then again maybe it wasn't that, maybe she just didn't want to brush up against lots of sweaty smelly people; he knew he didn't. "Well let's go then, before somebody else buys what I want." When they arrived at the stall however it seemed that he was to be disappointed; lots of wares - including a flute of amazing quality and design - but there was no harp. For a moment Carltis looked rather cresfallen, but he quickly recovered with a critical eye for the instruments on offer and then a critical eye for the Harpers. "I don't suppose you're hiding a lap harp back there?..."

Cai Cai didn't need to think about it for another second, satisfied as she was with Riarna's answer. She nodded her affirmation and glanced to Kleos as the older woman also accepted the weavers offer. "I'll do it. Tan for me as well." She slipped off her satchel and dropped it at her feet in preparation for having her measurements taken. At least her current outfit was nothing baggy, she didn't particularly want to take her clothes off in public.
Smithhall Vendors Have it done today? It would probably cut into his own profit margins but the smith knew he had a favor he could call in... He mulled it over. "Weeeelllll. I think I can convince someone to have it done by tonight. Did you have a design in mind or should I let them work their art?" Despite his earlier threats he wasn't that hard of a nut. And if it was for a lady friend he could humor the young lad.
Trine Harpers
Hyasin was surprised by the appearance of the young gentleman who approached their stall. Taller than him though surely only half his age he presented an imposing figure. The quiet harper stood from his stool and greeted him with a smile anyways. He wasn't the type to question someone without cause. "Hello and welcome!"
While business was booming around them, the harpers had had a rather quiet day. On display were wares designed for the gather. Things it would be easy to teach people how to use if not how to truly play. The masterwork flute was there to grab eyes and draw attention, more of a conversation starter than anything else.
Hyasin beamed at the young man over the table. "I actually believe I am! If you would please wait a moment or two... " He held up a long finger before returning to the older gentleman behind him, a Master by the knots on his shoulder. After a few exchanged words the Master turned towards the table as Hyasin bent over a box that had been gestured to.
"He'll bring it over once he finds it. It's not of my work I'll warn you, but it's a good serviceable harp." Hyasin didn't take long to find the harp and bring it up for inspection. It was simplistic in it's beauty with smooth lines and a solid frame. It was small enough for portability but not a child's instrument by any measure. The Master picked it up and played a couple measures nodding to himself as the tuning was undamaged by it's travel. He then held it to Carltis. "One and a half marks would be a good price for something like that."
Dizzian
On her way out of the gather Dizzian passed by the trader's stall and halted. ~ You like them. Get one.~ She didn't need to be told twice. Still shaky and feeling rather unhappy she drew attention to herself once again. "Excuse me...can I get one of these?" She drew a pretty little green one from the pile. She couldn't deny a fondness for the 'most common' of colors. Whoever thought greens worthless because of their abundance was just dim in the head.
Traders
"For half a mark. One quarter more if you want a tag." The woman who answered was just putting the finishing touches on O'thor's order at that moment, the blue plush sporting a ribbon around it's neck with his well wishes for an unknown Orlina.
Dizzian She had no need to buy a tag for hers. They were for her after all but at the price she picked another blue from the pile. That way Spazz wouldn't feel left out when her flitters found their new 'friend' "I'll take both of these please." She fished another mark from her pocket and placed it in the Trader's open palm, dipping her head to the woman before taking off back towards the weyrling barracks.

RiarnaIt had seemed a little crazy to Riarna to make materials so readily available for tailored clothes, but the Weavers of Trine seemed to want to help whoever they good. If the women had been too abnormally sized-- or had they been the near 7' male riders Riarna sometimes saw-- she likely would not have made the offer known. Still, for a pair of girls-- even tall ones-- pants would not be too strenuous for some Journeywoman to make. She took a measuring tape out of a belt pouch and gestured at the end of the "booth"-- no more than the end of the leaning piece of wood on which a dress had previously been hung. "If you would come around the back for measuring, please." Riarna's movements once the women complied was swift, and she jotted it down on a slate along with their preferred cloth color. "All right. Give two days for the Weavers to work on your pants before you come to pick up your items. 1 and 1/8 a person, please." ----- NPC Journeywoman Weaver -- Trine Weyr Weavers' Booth"Certainly!" The Journeywoman fished out the wrapping cloth, cut an appropriate length, and then deftly wrapped Xan's new rug, tying it snugly with twine. "There you are, rider. 1 and 1/8." She held out her hand to accept payment as she slid the package across the counter-top to Xan. ----- N'molN'mol unlaced the top of his marks pouch and didn't even blink as he pulled out enough 1/2 Marks to fill the cost and turned them over to the Smith. "As long as the carving is more elegant than 'girly,' I'm happy to let the woodcrafters do something that appeals to them. The knife is going to a close friend of high standing. After the take over at Benden, I think she would feel safer with something like it at her side." Not that that would have helped Kestrel. We will protect them. Suunath's will not be taken unaware the way Kestrel was. Tyeth's objection was duly noted and N'mol returned to his conversation with the Smith. "May I see what belt knives you have to offer and select one for the commission?" N'mol asked politely. He fished another 1/4 mark from his bag and slid it across the counter with a smile. "And if you can find someone to complete the work by tonight, be assured that you've earned yourself a new patron and not just a one-time customer." ----- CetaleseAfter finding D'lin and spending a good long period of time talking with him and Eliza, the girls finally wandered back into the stall area, searching for items to purchase that might come in handy. Cetalese, ever the practical one, tended to admire the decorative or superfluous items, but always dismissed them and looked seriously at the more useful items for actual purchasing. Trine had equipped her with good gear when she became a rider, but it never hurt to upgrade to finer products if it meant potentially having something that would stand up better to wear and tear-- or to at least change out with other parts to keep one from wearing out too quickly. The tanner's stall had plenty of good purchases in that area, but Cetalese admired a darkly stained belt, wrapping the length around her to make sure it would fit before she considered it a second time. This would be a good purchase. She glanced up at the tanner at the booth and then lifted her chin and smiled slightly at him. "How much are the belts?" Her eye caught on the nearby pouches and she reached out to touch one of the larger ones. "And the belt pouches?" ((Roll is for Cetalese.))
