♫ IF IT AINT GOT THAT SWING! ♪ Dance Partner's username: Ravvlet Try #: 3 Okay, Wash. Okay. It's on. Yeah, she was actually smiling, despite the tortured, tattered remains of her inner agony and ... whatever. OOC  Sasha is a hunter in a golem. This golem's name is Sacha Von Vondervon. This golem is a 6 foot tall, slenderly built vampire male. He is dressed rather dapper in a pair of slim pants, a silk shirt with a vest over it, and a deep crimson rose boutonnière. For some strange reason, he also seems incapable of speaking in normal phrases; each word that the regal undead fellow speaks seems to be some sort of strange emotional poetry. He also seems to be on the constant verge of tears. As a note, students & horsemen do not recognize these slightly nicer prototype golems.

'Something' and 'weighing her down' were rather kind ways of putting it, but Belladonna was not in the mood to go about arguing with people's thoughts. Not that she was privy to them, of course. And really, she hadn't even put up a fuss when Mort had led her over, since fighting would have meant raising her voice and even that seemed dangerous at this point.
"Do you really want to dance with such a cranky bloomers?" She asked with a small, sad pout. Still, with such a cheeky grin, it was kind of difficult to say no. And he was trying so hard... After a moment of just pouting at Mort, the witch heaved a sigh and looked up at him for a moment before she straightened her shoulders, assuming the proper waltz position.
"Its just not fair." She told him, trying to explain herself but still not say anything altogether too rude. It was his mother after all. Adopted or not, the title and rank and all the meanings and emotions still came with the territory. "She doesn't even know me and she hates me." Yes, yes she was going to talk and dance. With this crazy music. Whatever! Belladonna could make it happen if only she tried hard enough. Willpower and all that!

Mort followed her example in taking the waltz position, though he felt that they were going to need something more "loose" for music like this. "'Ve course I do! Now, er, doesn't hate," he protested mildly. "Just . . . tends to assume. She, er, d-didn't see you in good light after first meeting." Which had been his fault since Ramona wouldn't have been there had he not contacted her.
In an attempt to help lighten her mood, he began to swing them about more than necessary, not enough to, say, jive, but it was a noticeable change from the usual constraints of the waltz she'd shown him. "Would've been too easy i-if she just said liked you," he attempted to joke. "Remember? Nothing's easy."

His sense of trepidation at being here had ebbed considerably- he had to admit to himself that he was really having a good time. Wash's surprised expression then turned into a goofy grin as he looked to the booth and realized they'd actually won something.He swept Sacha up into a big bear hug, twirling her slender male vampire frame around before setting her down, still laughing. "Now, ain't that a cryin' shame. I think this golem has more than its fair share of left feet. Congrats, you." He ruffled her hair a bit, chuckling, before straightening out his tousled petticoats. OOC  This is Washington Becker, a hunter in a meatsuit! Alias Wanda, or Vanda, because he doesn't know how to say a 'W' without slicing his mouth open on his fangs. Currently, he's a roughly 7 foot tall vampire lady, with ridiculous hair and a big poofy blue dress. She kind of walks like a man, and seems slightly out of sorts. Constantly fussing with her skirt. As a note, students and horsemen do not notice these slightly nicer prototype golems.

"And now she's talked to me twice and I know she still hates me." Keeping up the waltz stance was hard, so the witch instead put some space between them and let go of his shoulder, clasping both his hands in her's. "I got destroyed by a mechanical arm! She called me delicate! And you didn't even hear what she asked me two seconds after she'd said hello!"
Infuriated with the remembrance of it, the witch went into the swing a little too hard. Hard enough that she momentarily tripped, barely hanging to just one of Mort's hands.
They needed to slow down if they weren't going to spin the other into someone else, or the booth itself.
As for that last bit, Belladonna sighed in a defeated manner as she rejoined hands with him.
"Nothing every is easy, is it?"

Yikes, it must have really been bothering her if she was tripping up in the middle of dancing. "Hey, hey . . ." Mort steadied her before she fell and put them back in the starting position to try again. "Odin's like that for everyone," he stated as he tried once again to introduce more of a swing to their step, just a smidge less than the first time. "But, er, what'd she say?" Maybe talking her through this might help better; magazines always did say ghouls were talkers.

The little howler hovered back, shaking her head. It was silly to be jealous. He had been stalking several creatures all evening, trying to figure out who was who without saying a word or giving himself away. Wash's voice had been a dead give away, although it wasn't until he had called the vampire "Sacha" did he have his suspicions. It was good he was cheering her up. Wash was a good friend. The silliness to the dance almost brought a smile to his own unfamiliar golem lips. Jerry wondered if he should just let go and cheer up himself, although his heart was still twisted from the recent sting. He hovered back, debating if he should approach them or not. Probably not. Leave well enough alone. Although if they didn't know it was him... They'd find out. Oh, hell.
You DO need to win some minis, y'know. This is still a mission, Roar reminded him wearily. He pursed his lips. Maybe he'd find Jordan.

Glad to have a steadying hand, the witch only continued to frown. This wasn't really the time, nor the place for such a conversation. But where else could they talk? It wasn't like either of their booths was a sanctuary, as Belladonna's still had... Unfortunate memories.
"Not everyone." Was her sour reply as she tried to follow his lead, but once more finding herself out of step and too hasty. Wasn't there a spell to make one dance better? Eh, that was probably cheating.
In any event Belladonna sucked in a breath and let it go with a dramatic heave of her chest.
"She asked me how many times I visited your room in a week." Tacked onto it was a tilted mouth and raised eyebrows, that meant that had been a very loaded question, and one meant not so innocently. And if that didn't mean his mother hated the witch, then nothing did.

"S'just needling you b-because is upset with me," he observed with a little sigh, adding more to their last minute of song with a twirl and a swing, bringing her back close and personal. "M'gonna talk to her about it, mkay? Supposed to be having fun at festival."

♫ IF IT AINT GOT THAT SWING! ♪Dance Partner's username: Ol-j-man Try #: 3 What?! "No! Nonononononoooo! You can't talk to her! She can't know I've talked to you!" Oh yes, this had been a mistake. "What will she think if she finds out I ratted her out to you? There's a big difference between overhearing something and telling her I told you something she told me in confidence!" The witch shook her head vigorously, tousling her hair around. "She'll hate me more! Just... Just drop it. Really, its ok..." Of course, that wasn't all there was, as there was more going on besides that but the song was winding down. With a deep breath, Belladonna allowed herself to be swung, somehow finding her feet hitting the proper steps until she twirled back around and found herself ending the dance with Mort perfectly. The tiniest of smiles crept up after that, and Belladonna even managed a small laugh. "You're not half bad at this." She offered with a wink, before she rose up on tip toes and pressed a quick kiss to his cheek. "Thanks."

Mort blinked in surprise at her vehement reply and almost forget to let her go when the dance was finished. "I, ah . . . A-Alright then," he acquiesced simply, the look in his eye pretty much saying he was not content to let it sit, but that he'd keep his mouth shut about it for the moment. "But if bothers some more, tell me, mkay?"
Mort then took a bow, grinning as he reached for her hand and kissed the top of it in return. "Mrrr, only s'good as teacher," he said, waving the compliment away but clearly looking pleased. "Plus had lucky charm! Were golden from start. Should, er, prolly head back to booth now, but . . . J-Just so you know, won concert tickets at FMC booth," he told Bells in a conspiratorial whisper, grinning even more. "Think up for night've fun sometime? Maybe could dance some more."

The witch nodded once in acquiesce to his request, but didn't say much else. Like hell she'd tell him anything else, unless it was dire. And even then, she might not. Just because telling him would worry him. And tonight was supposed to be fun, so instead Belladonna only laughed at his kiss.
"That sounds absolutely splendid. We'll dance all night if you'd like." It didn't matter what concert it was, so long as it was something free of all this stress.
With her own nod, Belladonna heaved a sigh and quickly hugged the boil.
"I'll try to come visit you again later... As a show that she didn't, yanno, get me all the way down." She told him, not quite ready to go but knowing that regardless, she'd have to. With one last kiss on the cheek she waved at him, whispered him luck on his booth and was gone, running back into the crowd.
At least the dance had somewhat given lift to her otherwise dire spirits.

"Good, good~ Will see you later then," he said with a smile and wave, finding that the world was still spinning a little even as he stood still. Agh . . . and back to the booth it was. But hey, at least it was a fun little reprieve, and the witch seemed to be in better sprits for it.

My card is open!It was the music that attracted him. There was something about the jangly tune that cut through the hustle and bustle of Fright Night. It sent his talons a-tapping and caused a swing to appear in his step before he even realized what was going on. Merope tracked the siren's call of the radio broadcast back to the booth where he leaned against an available pillar, tapping his talons along to the beat. He was content to watch the dancers, preferring to hang back and simply absorb the atmosphere than participate himself. OOC I'm usually on in the evenings (PST) if anyone wants to dance with Merope~
