Sydney glanced at Dr. H, a hesitant expression on her face before something occurred to her. "I'm going to see if there's any usb drives or even disks still in the wrecked computers," she said quietly before she went to the other computer that was in semi decent shape and checking for ports.

Izy complained in the back of her mind.

I seriously doubt that Gale is looking at jewelry right now, Izy, she drawled. Now either contribute to the situation or be quiet, please?

Izy said.
People DIED here, Izy. We could be next. Now either HELP or shut UP.

Izy shut up. But she could feel him pouting.

Dirty looks from both of them, but both landed solid hits on the yeti this time. Good enough. Jordan could feel the chain starting to slip; he kept hold on it, yanking it back as it uncoiled from the yeti's paw. Its charge expended, it was now no more useful than an ordinary chain, but he didn't want to drop it; it would be lost in the snow within seconds. He wrapped it quickly and loosely around his arm and summoned Ferros back to his hand.

The yeti was staggering, clearly injured now, and Jordan ducked under one of its wild swings and brought Ferros down squarely on its head. The shock of impact resonated up the hammer's handle, and Jordan grinned again under his scarf, feeling and sharing Ferros's satisfaction as the creature disintegrated.

He stepped back and began unwinding the chain from his arm so he could clip it to his belt again. "Good job, guys," he said, raising his voice to be heard over the whining of the wind.

Before said nothing at Aria's scolding. He kept his eyes downcast, focusing more on moving the furniture now that the other Mistys had begun to clear a way for them. Something occurred to him while he was carefully continuing to move the furniture along the cleared path. In the middle of moving furniture, Before glanced over his shoulder towards the Deathers to ask: "Can one of you Deathers check the state of the inscribed runes on the broken computer?"

It was something a Lifer should be doing but finding survivors was more important to Before. If they did find someone, it could help to shed some light on things. Unless the survivors were rendered catatonic and permanently traumatized in which case maybe the computers would be able to yield more useful information. "Hey, uh, Sasha, how're you holding up?" he asked the new-face Lifer.

Sasha gave Before a sunny smile. Nona was blissfully silent.

"I'm doing well, sir. Thank you for asking. Is there something else I should be doing, sir?"

She wasn't sure if she should be looking for anything in particular or if she should just keep moving debris and furniture. A little guidance would be welcome.

Before gave it some though, "When we get the doorways cleared, we and the Mistys can go look for survivors. I suppose until we get access to the other rooms, you could help the other Lifers collect the not-smashed-up computers and tech. They might have some totes important data on 'em the Lifer Hunters could retrieve." It made some amount of sense to Before.

It was not his arm. Just remember that, he reminded himself vaguely as the severed limb crumbled into nothing but snow.

He drew in a sharp breath, roaring frantically as he tried to gather himself up just in time to see Jordan's hammer come speeding towards him. The world seemed to slow down. That hammer meant his death. He had been warned. He had only a millisecond, but the thought of HOME HOME HOME ABORT ABORT ABORT was powerful enough, he had barely a moment, and the tail end of the ringing pain of it connecting before Jerry's mind left the golem and the Hammer swept through nothing but dissolving snow.

The Sun trainee sat up sharply, gripping the edges of his pod with shaking hands, his face white. That... that had been close... too close. So close. Just calm down. Deep breaths. He had been in more dangerous situations before... and would be in the future. This was training for himself as much as for the newbies. If it hadn't been HIM in that golem... if it had been a REAL Yeti... well, thankfully Jordan had been there to take care of the lambs.

He leaned back, catching his breath. Just a few minutes to regain his composure. He could do this. One down... just a couple more to go.

Hesitantly, he leaned out of his pod again to make sure none of those on Pod-duty were paying attention before settling back again against the cushions and pulling the flask from his coat pocket in shaking hands. At least he was getting the hang of the beast. Just had to loosen up and stay calm. He'd do a better job the next time. Just had to make it from the one ruined facility to the other where the trainees all huddled. Give them time to wander their way back, and he couple press forward. Another swallow, and he felt the warming burn of the 'borrowed' bourbon set his mind at ease.

Honestly... that... that had been fun. Not as fun as fighting with his own hands and weapon, of course, he added quickly to the grumbling, disapproving Roar in the back of his head but...

It had gone well.

Time for the next one. Here we go. Deep breaths and one more swig. He could do this. He had it in him. It had been... amazing. Powerful. He felt... how could he describe it? He didn't feel like himself in that golem.

Play the role.

Show time.

Yeti #1: Destroyed.
Physical status: Tired, but ready for more.

Saya was picking up the smaller bits of debris, dropped them to the side where some trainees had successfully moved furniture and chairs. There were a lot of sharp bits, taking a large chunk of wood to sweep them to the side. Her hand gingerly avoided splinters, although she was sure that was the least of her problems.

Some trainees had moved several desks and nightstands to the side. Saya decided to take a brief look inside the drawers or shelves to see if it had anything as she cleared the ground for the barricade.

If they stacked desks and chairs, they could possibly make a ladder upwards to the hole on top.

Rep watched the yeti go down with awe, surprised that he had had anything at all to do with it, getting the feeling Jordan had just finished it off for them. Still, it would count as the first fight he'd won, technically, even if he'd had to do it with the "help" of a woman. He dessummoned Tracey as soon as the beast went down, glancing sidelong at Jordan as he told them both good job, looking momentarily incredulous.

Those words were more than a little unfamiliar, he wasn't even sure how to react. He'd only ever been told good job in complete sarcasm, never in all due seriousness and honestly wasn't sure if Jordan was being sarcastic or honest, deciding to say nothing at all, just to hope it was meant in earnest and to feel honestly good about himself for once.

He wandered over to stand by Jordan, brushing snow off himself, raising his voice to ask "Do we finish the perimeter or go back and warn them?"

Rin was equally surprised by the beasts collapse. Turning her gaze and smile... rather genuinely at Jordan. He certainly did a good job of the beast himself, but she chose to remain silent. She was exhausted, cold, and still shoveling fist fulls of snow out of the hood of her coat.

She followed Rep over to be at Jordan's side once she was certain she was snow free and feeling a bit warmer from all the exertion. Mentally praying their job out here was done - that couldn't have just been the beginning, it really couldn't. If it was, she might as well kiss her and Byr's asses good bye right now.

Still, she sucked in her gut and pushed out her chest as she stood tall, Byr's handle resting across her shoulder. At the very least she was going to go down fighting. Can't give ginger pits the satisfaction of giving up.

Ami noted her little table arrangement, and looked around. Was there any more furniture pieces she could grab? Maybe she could stack them up and make a big wall to protect them. Then again, they could also climb it.

Come to think of it, just what would be up there? Ami looked up at the ceiling only to find a skylight (which was covered in snow ... whoever thought up that idea was stupid, in Ami's opinion. She wasn't really good at the whole "sentiment" thing).

Instead, she continued piling furniture together. She stopped at one chair that had a large dark stain on it. At first she thought it was repulsive, and let go of the chair, instead searching for another one. Her curiosity overwhelmed her. So she decided to examine the dark stains on one of the chairs. What was that stuff?

It wasn't long, maybe about five minutes or so before the snowy ground beneath the Sun Trainees' feet began to jump, snow drifts dropping from the sparse trees and wrecked buildings around them dropping from the force.

Something was coming. Something big. Bigger than the last Yeti, or at least heavier.

He could do this, he could do this, this golem was even more powerful than the last and it felt.... marvelous. Time to tune your instrument before uniting the orchestra. The roar penetrated the wind, ripping through it with blood-curdling enthusiasm before the second Yeti suddenly crashed through the side of the wreckage, sending debris flying... Chunks of ice, building, chairs erupted out into the snow, slamming into the gathering Suns as something massive barreled out at top speed, making a B-line through the snow to the facility where the other trainees all cluelessly cleaned and examined.

Jordan and his Lambs had a decision- they could try to take it down, or slow it down, or they could try desperately to beat it back to the base to warn the others.... It was coming.

"We finish the perimeter. The patrol is our job. All the more important now that we know there are things out here," Jordan said. He desummoned Ferros, then dug his phone out of his pocket and stripped off one glove long enough to type a rapid message to Bix.

iloveyouDIE
Text to Bix: Yeti in the trees. Taken care of, but watch out.

He quickly pulled the glove back on and shoved the phone back into his pocket. "Damn it's cold out here," he grumbled. "Right, let's get this done so we can go back inside and warm up. Here's hoping there's no more speed bumps."

The yeti had been easy to take down, much more so than the creatures that had invaded the island. Why was that? Had those been strengthened by some unknown force? Had this one simply been weaker? It was strange how the thing had just fallen apart into snow as it died; was that normal for yetis? Questions to be asked later. Now he needed to be focused on the patrol and on staying alert.

They hadn't gotten far at all before the ground began to shake beneath them, ominously regular thumps that shook the ground and sent snow cascading off the trees. Jordan summoned Ferros again and turned, trying to locate the direction from which the threat was going to arrive; the roaring howl gave him a moment's warning, but not enough to dodge the debris that came flying towards them as the yeti charged.

Bigger. Definitely bigger. Damn, he should have saved the charge on his chain. Jordan made a quick decision. Rin was smaller and lighter than either of them, and would probably be able to move faster. "RIN, GET BACK TO BASE, WARN THEM. REP, STAND YOUR GROUND, WE'LL GIVE HER A HEAD START."

He dashed forward to place himself in the yeti's path, sweeping Ferros back to get some momentum for his attack; when the yeti's paw came down, Ferros was there to meet it.

Clerise maneuvered through the various obstacles of the room, huffing as she did. "Gawd," she muttered, kicking a few pieces of debris about.

So, there were a few options. Listen to Aria's ranting and kick some junk around. Or, listen to Whiny and rummage through electronics.

They both sounded like shitty ideas. She huffed again, re shoving her turtleneck's sleeves back up her arm-- and decided to help move the random debris and junk, since there were more people doing it. That would likely result in the job getting done faster, so she could do more interesting things.

She was all dressed up in warm clothes.

Clerise just really, really, wanted to be making snow angels, RIGHT NOW.

Life wasn't fair. Not even a litt-

She was rather rudely interrupted by a horrible sort of yodeling crossed with hollering. What was even the ********. Curious and without Robert's guidance, she slid back into her coat and decided to investigate.

That sounded SO much more interesting than cleaning or looking at computer parts. So she moved to the door, intent on seeing the outside.
