(big group, so I'll focus on a few)

A big group; it was sort of expected since all the students were out and about. They were taken out of the academy by bogeymen and now they’re left to wander. Now they’ve begun to gather. The slimer was finding it a little uneasy now. He was fond of people, but he wasn’t too fond of being around a lot of them. He’s comfortable to didactic settings. So he withdrew, just a little bit, snuck out to the edge of this cluster, hoping to just attract the eyes of only a few.

“Hey there beautiful,” the ghost smiled, “You look familiar, probably around the dorms.”

“I’m new as well.” He floated up a few inches off the ground and floated a little closer to the ghoul. “I’m El Greco.”

Taryn gave the boil that had suddenly arrived a hell of a Look. What a dog. She rolled her eyes and gave the ghoul who had been so shy a sweet smile.

"I was new not too long ago. I'm Taryn," she said, offering out her hand. Sure, the torso-girl had been addressing Mort, but he had a dozen other people on his plate.

"That's Mort," she added, "He... Mort seems to have been everywhere, and done everything. So, reasonably, he knows everyone." She couldn't personally speak for if he was new or not.

The slimer raised a brow at the chimera. He caught the look. Terrifying, he thought, and was befuddled on what prompted such a face. He floated around the ghoul, and around closer the lady ghost.

"He does know everyone it seems," he added to the chimera's comment. "But I think he's just pretty friendly."

"A-Ah... well yes... I do live in the ghost dorms and hope to continue to do so. Haven't come across many ohers, but it's possible you might have seen me around as I got settled in." Imryn replied rather nervously while casting a backwards glance over her shoulder, just double checking that he was talking to her. Beautiful was not something she would classify herself as with ya know... missing half a body and all. Not that it seemed to make a difference here from what she'd noticed so far. Dealing with boils was not something she'd had much experience with... and in all honesty was a bit unnerving.

Thankfully they weren't alone and Imryn seemed to move towards the other female just a little when she spoke up. "Oh I'm sorry! I'm Imryn, sorry for not introducing myself before. Nice to know I'm not the only new one here, not that I thought I would be but with how things seem to be here... ah... and... yeah..." Time to stop talking would have been about a sentence ago Im, so just shush now. Clacking her claws together a little, she tried to think of something else to talk about.

"Mort? Hmm, well... I dunno... he just seemed kinda familiar... I could be wrong though."

"I felt like the only new ghoul when I first came too," Taryn nodded, still smiling softly. She felt almost... motherly about this ghoul? It was a bit odd, considering not only were they likely the same age, but Imryn was a ghost. She... may or may not be Taryn's very first ghost.

"Mort? I, um..." Well, he'd been at auditions, and earlier at the haunted house... "Mort?"

Tsetsiliya turned her gaze up to the secretary and boogeymen as the announcement was made. A test.. ? Her heart gave a flutter.

A hope.

The ghoul knew she was no good at pop quizzes. There was really no telling how she would do, but at least they had a chance. They had hope. There was no way she was going to sit idly and do nothing.

With a nervous but determined frown, she turned towards the examination area.

"Maybe I can show you around the place, or discover it together." The slimer slipped besides the ghoul ghost. "Well, if and when it opens up again of course."

The slimer chuckled to himself, and turned to face the boogeymen and then to their abandoned academy. He felt a little uneasy knowing that if the school does close down, he wasn't sure where he'll head next. Just the thought broke his concentration; a ripple passed through his slime body, this lapse revealed his near transparent slime flesh and the skeleton hiding beneath.

"Oh," he chuckled. "Sorry about that, it happens time to time."

Had Mort dazed out of conversation? Absolutely. It didn't have anything to do with his player's soul-killing homework and/or final prep work. Or the fact that said player felt like she was getting sick. When the zombie snapped back to reality, completely missing the comments said about him, he nodded to Xander, looked a bit uncomfortable at answering again how badly he'd done, and went straight to the new ghoul.

Ghost. No torso or legs. Glowy-stick tail. Still tickling the brain . . .

Oh, and Taryn. Taryn was saying his name. "Sorry, sorry, daydreamed," he said quickly, pushing his glasses back up. It didn't normally happen either . . . Probably too many straight days without at least some form of rest. "Wh-What were talking 'bout?"

"We're talking about you, silly," Taryn smiled to Mort. Huh, it was odd to see the boil spacing. It couldn't possibly have anything to do with the omnipotent forces that guided their fate, a glitch in the Mawtrix, so to speak. She rocked slightly on her hooves and gave the slimy ghost another glance. He had to be a ghost too, right? What else was greens, transparent, and glowing? Very strange, she had never read about a ghost like that...

Oops, there she went again, analyzing people like subjects. She blushed and turned away.

The slimer felt a tingle, if he had hair it would stand or if he had skin, it might actually show some goosebumps. How odd. He turned to one of the boogeymen, searching for their eyes, trying to see if any one was gazing back at him, and then to the ones around him. He missed it, but he had a clue on who might have been looking at him.

He turned quickly, so not to be noticed, but kept the chimera at the periphery of his gaze.

Having returned to the main crowd after handing in her written exam Zurine spent some time lingering near the outside of the crowd and listening to the various comments that were going around - almost everyone seemed to be thinking the same thing, or at least feeling the same way and Zurine found her thoughts wandering somewhat.

It might be a bit of a selfish thought but..what was she supposed to do with her time now? With the school closed down until the staff could get things sorted out - and she was pretty sure they would - then there would be no more classes, she wonder vaguely if the clubs would still be meeting and the various other activities would still happen. They most likely would she figured..they would just have to take place outside the closed off area. Stuffing her hands in the pockets of the coat she had worn with the intention of hitting the mall she watched the milling crowd with only half of her attention. She had already finished her exam and it didn't seem like there was much else she could do to help the school or her fellow students...but like everyone else she seemed inclined to linger for a little bit longer anyways.

Though the students had trickled out by the next day, it took a little longer to bring in an official examinations mediator to evaluate and examine the results. One haggard secretary and one annoyed Bogeymen later, the prudent and thorough examiner announced the results, pushing up their spectacles and raising one bony finger.

"Amityville Academy's official results are as follows:

Physical Exams, 154 points. Written, 117 points. Healing, 62 points. Spells and Hexes, 70 points." A pause as they scrawled down the tally on an officious looking parchment with a feathered quill before looking up again. "Congratulations, this makes Amityville Academy the highest scoring school, if not evaluated by numbers alone." There was no missing the tone that they thought the test was rather rigged. With the same taciturn expression, they turned to the Bogeymen. "As Amityville Academy is now considered Established School Grounds, it means only the headmistress can make decisions for this facility. Results are results, and an established school will, and always will be, a significant contribution to Halloween." The officious examiner missed entirely the bristles and growls from the Bogeymen, though Arel did, inching backwards a few steps, just in case.

The examinations mediator stood up, slowly, putting several files into their worn briefcase. "I believe this has been resolved then, Amityville Academy will remain a school, as a functioning private facility of its own. I will forward these results to the Town Hall. Good day."

For a second, it seemed like the Bogeymen thought better, blocking the examiner's exit path. But, it was just a bare second, with one final snarl, they backed off, letting them through.

Arel was still half-hiding a little behind the makeshift table when the taller Bogeyman walked towards him, his features twisted in indignation. "Just because Amityville has been cleared of our investigation rights does not mean it has been cleared of suspicion. Outside of school grounds, you are all still on very shaky ground." The bogeymen paused, as if he was about to say more, and then, simply shook his head, gesturing for the others to leave.

It was a full minute before anyone dared to move. At last, the secretary scuffled out from his hiding place, staring at the results and then the certificate which the examiner had left behind on the table. He looked rather stunned as he finally sat down on the chair and remarked, pure relief evident, "Amityville is back."

Amityville was back because the students fought for it. Because they fought, despite their self-doubt, confusion, trials, and even second guesses, they fought because there was something about the school that ultimately drew them there, and most of all:

They won.

The nubers where read of. Slow almost each on ticking by painfully slow as the examiner seemed to pause on each one. Each pause causing her to flinch slightly, was it enough? Would they pass? Was the school safe?

Suddenly in a flick of a pen, and a rustle of paper it was done. The school was free to continue being as it was. What ever cheers from the crowd happened as the gates of the school clicked open to them where lost on her as she moved through the crowd towards Arel.

Screw what he would think.

Sammy pushed her way closer till she could throw her arms around one of the few adults in the world she could trust. The one who had helped find the loophole that would save her home.

"Thank you Arel."

She mumbled before quickly letting go moving into the school grounds proper.

They did it. They.......the school. Somehow Temes had helped, somehow she had helped the school in a way she didn't think she could. Her attempts at using her FEAR had aided everyone in a way she didn't think possible and for a brief moment in time she had pride in herself. It was always hard for her to think that she could do something, that students like her could make a difference, but everyone around her had also pitched in and together they'd saved the school.

Not only saved it, but made it established. Chuppi wasn't quite sure that word meant or how it really affected anything but she had heard that it meant Professor Hellma was back in charge? Chuppi rather liked her because she was small too and that made her think that small people could do great things.

She looked around to see if she could find Mort and tell him how she'd done but for some reason she couldn't seem to locate him amidst the sea of students. He had to be there somewhere though, that was a comfort, and the monster set about wandering around and looking at the others. There were so many reactions of relief that she couldn't help but smile in her own way, little sharp teeth showing.

Maybe she should write a letter home and tell her parents! They'd be so impressed to hear how she helped save the school, maybe they'd even think she was a good daughter. It sounded like an amazing opportunity for her but then she remembered one very sad and important fact. Her parents could not read and could barely write, which meant none of their letters to her ever made sense and anything she sent to them would likely be discarded.

She shook her head and watched a ghoul run past her and hug someone, telling him something (she couldn't hear) before she went and let him go. Were they supposed to hug this person and tell them thank you for something? The chuapcabra had been unaware of how things got to this point, about the loophole Arel had found for all of them, but she figured if someone else had done it than maybe she should go and hug them too.

With a waddle and a smile she approached the secretary of the school and tapped her fingers together before giving him what could be described as a very light barely making contact hug. She didn't know him, she had quills, and she was only doing what she'd seen someone else do. "Muchas gracias, senor. Thank you very much. I will never forget this."

And then she was off, waddling away in an effort to find Mort.

Xiu's heart pounded violently when the examiner stepped up to announce the results. She clutched her hands together in front of her chest, eyes squeezing shut. Please, pleasepleaseplease let them pass...

...Or, uh, excel. That was good too. Highest scoring school?! Xiu couldn't help but let a huge, triumphant grin spread across her face upon hearing that. When it was declared that the academy was an established school, it took all of the baku's power not to make a face at the bogeyman (which she would have looked back on later with embarrassment). Instead, she threw her arms around the nearest student in her happiness (which she would...still look back on with embarrassment). They had done it!

Following the lead of the other students, Xiu slipped forward to smile at the secretary, tail wagging as she clasped her hands together and bowed. "Thank you, Arel!" For now, at least, Amityville would be safe.
