Sparrow eyed Arel with a confused sort of expression on his face. One hand was on his hip, the other holding his scythe vertical in the snow.
"You want us to, er...what?"
He had not ever heard of a school professor - or secretary, rather - ordering his students to build a snow castle before. Perhaps, however, it was the fact that they were all in the middle of nowhere, surrounded on all sides by snow, and there were no other officials around.
Or perhaps it was just Arel attempting to show that he was, in fact, an authority figure, despite the fact that he was a) only about four feet tall, and b) looked like a twelve year old.
He resisted the very strong urge to ask if it would be a house for the secretary, instead turning to Wren, and lifting a brow.
"Wanna build a castle with me?"
Turning around, he accidentally whacked the side of his scythe against Roch's head.
"Oops. Pardon me. Didn't see you there."

Well, that was it.
"You don't make castles out of snow!" For a secretary, he seemed to have rather.. limited knowledge of how things worked.
"First off, do you even know how durable this stuff is??" Grudgingly she reached down into the snow, forming a small snowball. Holding it out in front of Arel, she crushed it easily, letting the melting water trickle down.
"See that? SEE THAT? Snow's not going to protect your treasures, or keep you safe. Snow is, like, the WORST THING EVER other than water, and that's because they're pretty much the same thing."
You needed nice, strong walls, and probably a moat (though Vieve was more than fine with lava), and... and a lot of people, presumably. No sense in doing all the work on your own.. at least Arel had gotten that right.

"Hmph." Was pretty much all the secretary had to say regarding the illusory 'snow castle'. "Count on students to always try and take the easy way out. I bet you if Red was asking for the same-"
-Arel suddenly stopped himself. For a brief second instead of his usual dour expression there was something else - a sort of shock, a quaver of uncertainty. The air around them visibly flickered as the pelting snow for a second seemed to hiccup and change directions.
"The same... thing." The secretary finally finished. He was entirely distracted again, and for some reason, would not look at the students. One mittened hand pulled the pendant out as they gave a small sigh. "I guess there's no way to delay the inevitable is there?"
There was a small glimmer from the pendant, and then the scenery began to warp immediately. That b*****d - Arel had actually known all along that there really was no cooldown, he was just toying with them.
The world turned black again.
The secretary would be gone before the first of the students woke up to the usual buzz of the hallway.

One minute, Malodore was scooping snow up into the semblance of a tower. The next, it was blinking in the same familiar hallway, hands posed awkwardly over nothing at all, though snow was melting off of its coat and making puddles around it. "Ah..." It turned its head this way and that, but there was no sign of the secretary anywhere, or of that mysterious pendant.
Slowly, the plague doctor rose to its feet. "Well, ah... that was interesting?" it said, after a moment, to the students at large.

Well, Jericho supposed that it was good that the other students were more willing to play along with the whole snow castle bit. Maybe if the dragon was dressed more warmly he wouldn't mind playing around in the snow.. if he didn't end up melting whatever he touched within a few moments. That was a big maybe. Either way, this wasn't the case, so he just sat by, watching the others.
Though, he looked at Arel curiously as the secretary suddenly stopped speaking in mid-sentence. There was an odd look in his face that wasn't something he was used to seeing in the frost demon. It was like he was just reminded of something he really did not want to think about. Did it have something to do with Red?
He couldn't think of what this was all about really.
The last thing he said came off a little strangely as well. Furrowing his brow, he was about to ask something, but was cut off as the world went black. When he reopened his eyes, he found that he was feeling much warmer. Not only that, but he was back at school, away from teh snow.
The dragon looked over towards Malodore and nodded.
"You could say that."
