It would work as the Nidoran (f) would turn with bits of moss still in her beak. She would have simply ignored them and let them pass, but with that call she knew it for what it was ...a call to battle. Ears flatten against her skull as a slight blush rose on her face, she was a bit embarrassed by such large ears to begin with and to have someone call it out to her in a taunt. Well, she wasn't happy as she took the initiative and charged forward full throttle with a scratch attack. She was quite literally going to rip her opponent to shreds if she could get at him. Her normally docile nature was lost for the moment as she rose to the bait, and used the move beat up.

Though the Roggenrola wasn't about to turn and run away either as she skips to the side to try and avoid the rock coming towards her. The rock that she knew wouldn't be able to hit that area again as she watches the girl suffering. It would be over soon ....it would end quite soon, and then, that human would add to the fossils of this mountain.
Her pokemon ...well ...if they couldn't survive her attacks against them ....would join their trainer in death. The pokemon danced from one foot to the other as she moved to avoid the rocks.

Through it wasn't enough ....as the Durant would simply plow forward ...waiting for the roll to end as he snatched the Charmander from the ground in his jaw. Pincers like steel would close in around him ....strangling, squeezing, his goal was to crush the life out of him as he tries to make the two pincers touch each other with the Charmander trapped within.
An evil glint in his eyes as he looks over at the trainer and then for the fun of it would snap his head harshly to the side to send Fable flying through the air at Raven. The bug had planned to attack when they were weakest, but it would seem that he had had nothing to fear in the first place. They are already weak, and he snickers lightly to himself at such a fact as his legs moved in sync to help him turn towards the two.
He snapped his jaws in a form of a taunt as he waited for the little lizard's next move.

Raven growled, he didn't tend to take taunts well. Fable growled as well, though for reasons other then those of Raven. This insect had again made him look weak...worse yet in front of the only one to ever think he could be strong.
"Fable...Fire Punch" The boy shouted, eyes narrowed. This bug would fry, but first they'd have to melt that armor!
Surprisingly however, the Charmander had not reacted as commanded. He wanted more then his Trainer to smash through the insect's armored shell, but as things were he could tell that to be nearly impossible. For not he'd need to take the sting out of the insect's bite. Crouching low, Fable took a menacing Growl.

Victoria wasn't sure what to make of the strange landmark, but it was a bit clearer what her Professor might have meant. This is a place that seemed to be a hashing of time. A place where it might not flow the way it should, and that was enough to make her feel positive that somewhere on this island would be the Amber she was suppose to be looking for.
Her first guess was the upside down tree, since it was a oddity of itself. Though the girl wouldn't find anything of the sort there, the tree was strange, but not old.
The girl rising her hand ....as she would simply call her Emolga back to her hand as she investigates the outside of the cavern. The strange upside down tree, the clock face, ....she had to wonder if this was man made or pokemon based. Either way, she would have to travel it's lengths ....as Aella lands upon her shoulder and rushes from one side to the other and finally to her head. Her ears would flick as she took one paw and scratches behind it.
"A cavern is probably the worst possible place for us." "You can't fly in there, and I am sure that most pokemon would be resistant to flying type moves." "So, we will have to cunning, and you will have to be quick."
She tells the pokemon as Aella didn't even seem to really be listening ...as her tail flicks with her own curiousity of the place.
"I guess, that means it my job to be worried, and only yours to battle."
Victoria spoke mainly to herself, since she could see that flying squirrel wasn't really listening. The fact that she was shifting from one side to the other told her as much.
Thus, she would start forward into the strange and time warp cavern.

::Jasmine watched as the Kabuto moved away, whilst Claudandas may have been quizzical to watch the creature scuttle away, she just held a silent sigh of relief... if all the pokémon were like this in this area, they'd be lucky to get through this area...::
::She looked at the Purrloin, who would slowly relax, while she looked at the Kabuto, and gave a light bow::
::She'd remember it, even if the Kabuto didn't, she owed it more than just the base apology, before finally, she'd limp over to their prize:: Well... at least we found what we needed to...
::She looked suddenly at the ground around the tree, the Stealth Rock was laid, it wouldn't hit her, but, how long would it lay there, just waiting for new pokémon to ensnare?::
::She bit her lip trying to think on it... but right now, she had to get this Amber quickly, the girl moving through the inner workings of the tree, pocketing at first what Amber she could collect, but then taking those remnants of her dress, she took what she could and wrapped it in the middle of the rags, tucking it in behind her back, it was silent work, what may have been a good twenty minutes of work as the girl wiped her brow for the sweat there...::
::The truth was... what did they do now?::
::She had two pokéballs, but two pokémon who were weaker than the other types in this area... she could go back and train in the forest... but her head turned towards the other direction::
::There was a sound somewhere::
::A sound she wasn't sure what it was::
::Maybe she hadn't gotten on well in this area... but if this middle ring had pokémon like these, what would the central area have?::
::This would be dangerous work no doubt... but she bit her lip, looking to the Purrloin who had remained just as quiet and patient as her:: ...Well, we have the Amber now, I can return to the Professor whenever necessary.
But it feels a bit premature.
...What else is there further inland? ::She asked the cat, stepping back towards the Purrloin::

::Claudandas had watched the girl working away, let it never be said a human doesn't get their hands dirty as he saw her prising the amber out piece by piece as carefully as she possibly could::
::And then she asked THAT question::
::The cat shuddered, before he turned to the girl, then the island's center, his ears flicking at the sound vaguely there behind the sounds of the dead forest... he'd never ventured this far himself, he was well and good in his own forestry::
::But he'd heard the whispers... there was a reason pokémon stayed in their own areas, stories of those that went and never come back... he certainly remembered a human idiom of 'curiosity' in relation to felines...::
::He just shook his head, he didn't know how to articulate it to the girl, maybe if he asked her to bring out Lindbergh- he stopped that train of thought immediately, but instead, he now stood::
::They needed to make headway, whichever direction they were headed...::
Think you can turn your nose for anything we can eat? ::Jasmine asked at least finally, the girl seemed less and less formal to the pokémon the more they were together::
All three of us?

[Remind me how I got roped into this...] ::Lindbergh growled gutturally as he now stood ont he tip of his tail, on the top of one of the dead trees::
[Because you're the one with their head in the clouds already!] ::Claudandas snapped upward from halfway up the tree below the bat-hybrid:: [Now get looking!]
::Jasmine sat at the bottom of the tree, they might not have had any food yet, but they improvised where they could, one of her rags now shining a small pebble she'd found, ensuring it was a clean as possible, before she placed it in her mouth and began sucking lightly, keeping moisture there was one thing, finding anything for them to eat or drink to make their way onward was another::
::It had taken only a little while of the cat searching to decide that his hunch had been right, it would be hard to find anything in this area worth eating, they needed a better outlook, that meant looking higher::
::And so their little totem pole sat, Jasmine on the bottom of the tree, the cat halfway up and Lindbergh at its top::
::At least now they'd have a better look, as Jasmine kept her eye on the other broken tree opposite them that they'd managed to find the Amber inside, pensive in thought as she awaited some sign from the pair...::
((Dafnab, all these awesome rolls <_< This 20 worth anything? ))

(3/10 - Sorry to say no)
The forest wood was much to hard for eating, but the pokemon that roam there had to survive by eating something ....as from their high perch they would see in the distances ...a Sheildon munching on some of the vines that grew around such hard trees. Edible for a pokemon that is of the vegetarian sort, but humans would find it inedible, and a predatory pokemon like Purrloin would be completely disgusted by the idea.
There wasn't much to eat, but there was water ...that bubbles some places out of the ground as hot as lava and in others as clear as mountain stream. Yet, one had to be careful of what they choose to risk their life on eating or dreaming here. Things from the past seemed to carry their own diseases, and some of the water that seemed crystal clear had black bottoms of nothing but tar.
This was the sort of place that existed now, where only the hardy and powerful managed to survive it.

Through the Durant would merely side step the attack as he allowed the fire punch to glide by his head. A snap of his pincers showed his own ....cruel remark. He could easily out manuvuer this pokemon, a fact he thought would be harder considering his weight and size, but this charmander through brave .....and eager to battle didn't have the experience to back up his attacks. This was a world where the weak is eaten by the strong ...but he could already imagine the cushy life of a pet as he said as much.
<<>>>>>>><<>>>>
He laughed inner at his own reply as he switched to an attack of his own again. This time sand-attack as the pokemon taunts the Charmander further. A laugh in his own mind as he made it a point to be as insulting as possible with each of his attacks.

Riku looked frustrated as the rocks bounced off the pokemon with no damage to it whatsoever. The girl knew she wouldn't be able to last much longer and she clenched her fists to her side as she hobbled a little, to avoid whatever oncoming attack was coming.

((6 out of 10 actually, the Kabuto and two other rolls earlier =D))
((Well, 7 now << ))
::The pair descended, looking to Jasmine and shook their heads... it seemed this area just had nothing to live upon, it was a truly hardy area...::
::But Jasmine sighed and got up, nodding to the pair, as Lindbergh would almost immediately leap on her shoulder again, her perch seemed guaranteed now as the three would ready::
Alright... I say it's worth investigating ahead at least... we found it difficult finding anything on the outskirts... here as well... maybe we'll have luck inland further, enough to see us through the return trip.
::The two would comply, Lindbergh by absentia, Claudandas with a nod as they'd take their first step forward::
::But Lindbergh, the bat peeked open an eye mischievously, her tongue sticking out as she grinned, she peered away ahead... well... if the rock trap had worked earlier, she had plans for it, looking for a spot now to lay a new one...::

::And so they moved onward, it was hard to perhaps keep a straight line, it was all very assimilar, but they padded onward, the trio following Claudandas as the surest of foot::
::At least Jasmine felt better from her injuries, her improvisation with the pebble kept her mouth from drying, but she couldn't help but look around and wonder about this place, there was indeed something strange about this place, but it was hard to really pin it all together, how something like this existed in cohesion with the island::
::The experience was like a waking dream, she would fail if she tried to elocute it into words, but she had to wonder how it worked, what had caused this era of the ancients to slam into the forest... and what she would now find on the other side instead!::
::But she had her pokémon, as well as her trusty crutch, and she'd continue on with them, happy enough...::
::Never seeing Lindbergh's cruel little smirk for wherever the Stealth Rock she'd placed would now land!::

Rolling like a wheel, the pokemon decided to see what fun could be had from simply knocking the girl over. She was already hobbling with a broken leg, and the entire movement thing had to be cruel and terrible punishment. So why make it last much longer, the Roggenrola thought as it rolled itself up tightly and prance again ...it's entire body flying forward as the pokemon went for another smashing attack towards the girl's chest.
