Algie felt the tightening on his arm and glanced at Merci. Dio had inquired but it was obvious that something bothered her. He didn't do much but he did shift them, taking a few steps so that her line of sight changed. He'd only assumed whatever or whoever she saw was bothering her.
"Do you need anything? Just ask.." His voice was sweet and low so only she could hear. He didn't want to draw anymore attention to her plight if she preferred it otherwise. "And you know you can tell me if anything is going on." He did glance around though, trying to scope if there was something sinister lurking about under his nose. The beer in his free hand would have to wait until he was sure everything was fine.... where did Bloo get to anyway? Some of those soothing vibes could come in handy right now!
Bloo was way too occupied with the revelation of a grown Ruku! He spun about the firey fiend's hand with delight. Oh how he longed to converse!! He definitely wanted to have some fun! The wisp did feel himself beckoned by his bond and seemed to turn and 'look' at Algie. It at least sent a ping to his position for his bond.

Theirn grinned a little listening his gaze shifting over toward Amon, "well eye at least." He took a bite out of his burger and glanced over toward Trivii again, "I do understand about knee jerk reactions I suppose and taking responsiblity for them." Theirn rolled his shoulders a little, he had been able to keep his cool part of his mind jumped to what could have happened despite his feeling of assurance that it hadn't.
"Was Nell afraid? When she was grabbed?" He paused thoughtfully, "Coal wasn't afraid...angry but not afraid. I thought more then anything I was going to have to figure out how to seperate him and the green one." Grinning a little he gestured over toward where Neph was. Glancing back to Trivii he gave a slight nod, "I can related to the haunted past as well as the reaction."
Coal started to creep up his guardian's arm and along the cat girl's shoulder. Brushing close the wisp attempted to flick at her hair, the motion wasn't violent but more experimental if anything.

Anais watched as Miranda seemed to get more giggly and smirked a little as the can went mostly undeciphered. "Hmm, I think I shall pass on finishing the can." she said, though she felt a little rude. "I have to get up early tomorrow to make a wedding cake so I need a clear head. Do not want to feel the wrath of a Bridezilla because the top tier is wonky and the filling is lemon not chocolate."

Sulfur blazed for a moment, her little fires licking higher and casting long shadows in the grass. This little burst of energy didn't last long before they settled back down. She moved a bit closer to Obli, and her shadowed arms, that looked something like smoke rising from her blue flames, stretched toward him. Sully had just wanted to say hello, she didn't know who any of these other wisps were, and she wanted to. With how rarely she got out it would probably be awhile before she would get this sort of opportunity again.
She was determined to make the best of this chance.
Sulfur recognized a familiar feeling, guardian frustration, and her little flames danced a bit faster with her amusement.
Vance turned to the grill and he closed the lid. It would help the coals stay alive in case they wanted to cook later, it would also help keep errant wisps out of it. He had learned already that they were nothing but trouble and would cause it if given a chance. "Alright then." Now that he wasn't watching the grill, he cast about for a quite spot in the yard. It seemed to him that pretty much everywhere seemed to have people in it. His brow furrowed into something resembling a scowl.
Well if he couldn't get away from people, he'd just stay where he was. At least the company here wasn't... too bad.
Merci glanced up at Algie and she couldn't help the smile. She reached up and ran a hand over the back of her neck, "It isn't anything. I... some people just make me a tad bit nervous." Her voice lowers to practically a whisper and she rolls forward onto the balls of her feet to give her some height, hoping that only the wizard would hear her. "Dio's just being Dio. Teasing me about something that makes me uncomfortable. It's probably the one thing about him I would change." She turned her face toward Athan and Dio, stepping closer to Algie so she could hug his arm a bit tighter.

Miranda looked at Rhys with no small amount of admiration. “Hah, I envy you,” she sighed. “You’re younger than I, but it seems you have been to all sorts of interesting places whereas I … have barely ever been out of Dürem even.” She took another sip – well, a wee bit more than just a sip actually. “Maybe Reyna’s right to point and laugh at me,” she muttered gloomily, staring in the direction of the demoness. The silver hair made her easy to spot.
Rutie who’d still been circling her head floated closer, gently tousling his guardian’s hair as if to comfort her. Or to distract her, at the very least. It wasn’t quite working. Now that Miranda had caught sight of Reyna, she couldn’t quite take her eyes from her, quietly mulling over how Dio had praised his ‘auntie’. Maybe … maybe it was worth another try. If only she wasn’t such a chicken.
Amon quirked a brow. ‘Business’, eh? That came as a bit of a surprise, considering her and Merci obviously were … well. A couple, from the looks of. But didn’t they run a business of their own of some sort? He was pretty sure someone had mentioned something of the like. “Sure thing.” He nodded. “I’ll get back to you about it in a few days.”
He too had his eyes on Reyna, but with Mystic right next to her still, this was a no-go. The adult fiend gave him the creeps in too many ways to count. “I’ll be right back,” he announced, making his way over to the food table. It had been some time since he’d had anything to eat. He managed to heap food on his plate almost to the extend Rhys had – though being far less eclectic in his picks – topping it off with a very generous amount of his own sambal. That stuff was too good to let go to waste.
Neph was still on the lookout for the mysterious assailant when Nell showed up in front of her face, shimmering and pretty. She seemed not to be out for mischief this time around though, just for playing and exploring. Her trouble-making companion from before was nowhere to be seen, he was probably hiding. Well, he’d better! Nephrite still was in a good mind to trap that little nuisance in a jar or something!

Nodding thoughtfully Trivii gave his question a great deal of thought.
"I don't think Nell knows what Fear is, she didn't like it, I think if she had a mouth she would have bitten him." Her eyes tilting up a little at the corner she focused on Theirn, "I think he would have deserved it... manhandling a lady like that."
Watching the dark little wisp make his way to her she arched a brow. "Hello Trouble." Her voice purred affectionately even if the look on her face was a little droll.
Nibbling at her burger Trivii didn't have a problem letting the wisp play with her hair, her ear twitch a little.
"One adventure at a time hmm?" The words could have been spoken to the wisp but she glanced to Theirn.

Whisking up from under the bench Nell quickly settled by her foster mother.

Rhys shrugged slightly, "up to you of course - sounds like it's best as well. When you add zilla to the end of anything it shouldn't be taken lightly." Settling into his sambal plus other sauce mixture he took another bite of it.
Turning slightly he looked over toward Miranda as she commented on his travels Rhys wings flickered uneasily, "I'm pretty sure your imagining something more glamorous then it was." Frowning a bit Rhys watched his plate before clearing his throat and glancing up, "I really didn't go anywhere before I ended up coming here." Glancing up Rhys smiled slightly watching Rutie swirling his guardian, he gave the little wisp a wink before raising his free hand and offering Amon a brief wave of greeting.
If Tek was able to he would have grinned, Neph was distracted by a wisp ... a perfect time to strike. Darting behind Mystic Tek put a hand on Mystic's shoulder and then Neph's, leaning in slightly xe attempted to look serious or at least hold in the giggles that threatened to escape from xe as he attempted to insert himself between the two. He wondered how long it would be before Neph realized there were extra hands.
Cinder simply nodded leaving her business ideas for a less busy day. With Amon leaving she glanced over the area, spotting Algie snuggling up to her girl she headed over to the two. Stepping up she wrapped an arm around Merci` and leaned close just barely nipping the other woman's ear. "Careful there Algie, I'm liable to get jealous and I know both of us will wear you out," Cinder teased softly a touch of a grin on her lips.

Theirn chuckled slightly glancing toward where Nell was lurking, "I'll have to keep that in mind, have to respect a lady that isn't afraid to bite you after all."
Coal seemed content to fluff Trivii's hair for a time, after watching her ear twitch he continued to move around near her ear attempting to cause her to flicker her ear again. Catching sight of Nell's glitter Coal paused his ear teasing and after a few moments dropped off of Trivii's shoulder attempting to drop down on the other wisp from above.
Theirn chuckled softly though there wasn't much amusement present in the sound, "aye, I've found sometimes that's really your only option. One step at a time..." a touch of a real grin came over his face as he caught sight of Coal attempting to drop down on the other wisp, "I have a feeling...that one there is going to require lots of adventures."

Merci's ear flickered at the attention and she flattened it to her head. Her face tilted up toward Cinderfae and she seemed to visibly relax with her so close. "Oh I dunno. I don't think Algie's as old as he pretends to be." She gave the wizard a sly look, her green eyes sparkling with mischief. "He'd have to be pretty spry to keep up with Bloo." The kitsune leaned against the taller redhead and her eyes drooped closed a bit. She was now full, thanks to the wonderful meal that Amon and his entourage had prepared. Being comfortable and having a full belly usually meant nap time for Merci, "Don't suppose you saw coffee or something of the like around here somewhere did you?"
Vance glanced around and saw Theirn and Trivii off to one side. He decided that it seemed to be the least crowded area in the whole place. It took him a few moments to unwind his long, scaled body. He slithered over near them, and curled himself back up. He was close enough to evesdrop, but not so close as to interrupt if they decided to ignore him. The medusa was careful to tuck his tail into his coils, he didn't want someone else getting the bright idea to tread on him.

“Well, you certainly make it sound like you’ve gotten around,” Miranda remarked, apparently not in the least put off, “knowing alien languages and all.” She smiled widely, and there was no mistaking she was swaying slightly on her feet, and her gaze was somewhat unfocused.
“Peach-head, let me have a taste of that,” Amon briskly said to Miranda, snatching the can from the young woman’s hands to take a sip. The brew was awfully sweet, for his tastes at least, and the alcohol content … Oh-ho. “I wouldn’t have any more of this than you already had,” he recommended, pressing the can back into Miranda’s hand just as she was opening her mouth to protest. “Especially considering how quickly you’ve been drinking it. And you haven’t had much to eat today yet either, have you?”
“None of your business,” Miranda muttered, glowering at the dark-skinned spoilsport. “I need it. For courage.”
Courage? Amon quirked a curious brow, wondering just what the hell she was up to. Attempting to hit on the boy, mayhaps? “None of my business indeed,” he replied smoothly. “But keep drinking this stuff like that, and you’re going to make yourself be real sick. And if you happen to throw up on my lawn, or my carpets, it is going to be my business. And yours as well.” He shrugged, idly glancing at Rhys and giving a wry smile at the boy’s waving. He did seem a little out of place here, and it was not only because of his wings. “There are teens here who behave a whole lot more like an adult like you do, peach-head.”
“I don’t care,” Miranda snapped, clutching the can still and glaring defiantly at Amon.
“Suit yourself.” Amon shrugged again, giving up. Some people just had to learn their lessons in life (and not drinking strange, literally alien beverages), it seemed. Picking up his plate again he meandered back to the grill, just in time to overhear a certain bit of conversation.
“Did someone just mention ‘coffee’,” he said. “Because I make some wicked good one.” He didn’t really wait for a reply, before he raised his hand, waving. “Someone else in for coffee?!”
~~~
Neph, about ready to lean into Mystic’s embrace again – there was just something about the elder fiend which made her be terribly sleepy and drowsy, aching for a nap even during nighttime – noticed more quickly than Tek might have expected. The previous brushing against her skin had been too brief for her to figure out just who or what it was trying to put her off. But now, that the physical contact lasted, she clearly sensed the sense of mischief which was neither hers nor Mystic’s. Her eyes, about to drowsily flutter shut snapped wide open at once and she glared right at the tentacly fiend.
‘YOU!’ She snapped. ‘Stop bothering me At Once. Or else …’ Or else what? She couldn’t think of anything right now, however, she was quite certain she’d find a way to make the black-and-neon-green fiend feel sorry for having bothered her.
Rhys arched a brow glancing between Miranda and Amon watching the exchange he put his plate down and moved over beside Miranda again, she was getting more unstable and he didn't want her falling after all Cinder brought the brew so he felt a touch responsible. Clearing his throat he looked back toward Miranda, "well I did learn an alien language so I could talk to people when I came here." A slight grin came to his face before becoming a touch more serious, "as for the Treeber language, Treeber are everywhere from where I'm from...I don't want to bore you about them."
Rhys stretched his wings a bit and shifted his gaze over to the house, "sounds like they are making coffee, I think I could use some. Would either of you two like some as well?" Caffeine was one of the things that Rhys tended to indulge in frequently, and he figured if Miranda decided to have some it might help her focus a bit better...though logically he knew it wouldn't actually make her less drunk especially if she kept drinking it would just wake her up.
Tek giggled xyrs eyes arched high, if xe'd had a mouth xe would have been grinning. But your both so cuddly! Tightening arms and tentacles a bit xe hugged both Neph and Mystic at the same time. Another giggle escaped as Neph considered the best way to threaten him, before she had time to decide what it was Tek leaned in and brushed where his mouth would have been over her cheek, doing xyrs best to kiss her cheek before dropping down and darting away from the two.
Moving quickly Tek decided xe needed a new place to hide out, spotting xyrs guardian the little tentacled fiend sped over toward Rhys his tentacles trailing behind xem.
Cinder looked over toward Amon, patting Merci's bottom once she called over toward the man, "I think we'll be needing some coffee over this way." Grinning slightly she tightened her arms around Merci a moment before relaxing them, "or...I suspect someone will be napping."
Algie suddenly was sporting a deep blush and was tugging slightly on his collar after the comments by Merci. Was it hot in here or was it the beer?
"Oh no.. I think those days are behind me!" He chuckled, a hint of embarrassed schoolboy lurking in his tone. Merci and Cinder reminded him of a pair of married italian necromancers he knew, but with better intentions. The comparison simply meant that he seemed to sport a permanent blush when he hung around them.
"This is some brew.." He certainly seemed to retain the tint of pink in his cheeks but the evidence of drunkenness was not there. Did he have an amazing tolerance? Wizards could make some pretty strong stuff but honestly he was someone who went from sober straight to wasted with little in between. It was only a matter of when....
Anais was content to listen to the banter as she munched on some of the chips that were on offer. As Amon came over and teased Miranda she decided she would have to look out for the poor girl. Someone would have to hold her hair back and hand her glasses of water when the buzz came crashing down. "I'll have some coffee please." She replied to Rhys. "And one for Miranda perhaps?" A smirk danced across her lips, she was going to be needing it. "Niiice and strong."
Mystic lazily smirked at the little Shadow that had nestled into his arms. He was quite content to hold her so long as she chose to remain there. He shot Tek a sidelong glance with an arched brow.
'That's no way to garner the attentions of a lady,' he warned.
Athan's attention had been entirely diverted to Dio. He was also so full of questions and information it was at times hard to keep up with him. "I don't see why you couldn't pay my library a visit. So long as you promise not to take or touch anything you haven't permission to," he told him with a shrug of his shoulders that was accompanied by a quiet chuckle at Dio's nuzzling of his cheek.
He moved to stand and shook his head for a smile as he made his way towards Merci. Poor dear, she looked somewhat ill at ease. He hoped none of the "children" had caused her any harm.
Reyna was largely quite content to stand back and watch the chaos unfold. She also found herself staring at her own Shadow with a look of curiosity. The shift in personality and appearance was very interesting.
Rhys nodded to Anais before looking over toward Miranda smiling slightly he gave her arm what he hoped was a reassuring squeeze, "I'll be right back then. Might as well help Amon with carrying everything." Rhys took a few quick steps moving toward their one eyed host - he didn't want to give Miranda too much time to protest.
"Amon!" Rhys raised his hand slightly to get the man's attention, instinctively he tucked his wings down closer around him as he moved closer to the larger group of people and fiends, "seems we'll be wanting some coffee as well, want any help with carrying it or - "
Rhys voice cut off and his gaze went toward the little fiend darting toward him, Tek?
Ah ha! Xe could see Rhys ahead, xyrs guardian would make a wonderful place of refuge which all things considered Tek assumed xe might need. Continuing xyrs dart Tek used a tentacle from his shoulder to cling to Rhys arm and swing around behind the young man. Freezing behind his guardian Tek then peeked out from the right side to see if Neph was reacting at all.
Rhys froze in place his eyes a bit wide in startlement when it seemed the excitement was slowed for a moment he moved again attempting to move to the side, "What is going on?"
