"Okay," Mitsu nodded. "Just let me know if you do get hungry." If he ate not that long ago at least he would be fine for a while right?

After picking up a few more things at her slowed pace and placing them in their original spots Mitsu seemed to be wearing down. She was about to start gathering up some of the papers but ended up moving toward the couch instead to take a seat next to Desmond. Her eyes looked tired but she managed to smile a little as she looked up at the vampire. There was no look of pain at least so whatever had bothered her at the ice cream shop had passed during the wait for the cab and the ride to her house. Either that or she was getting really good and hiding that it hurt.

"I'm glad you're here." She said as she leaned against him bringing her legs up on the couch so she could rest for a bit. "It makes it easier to be in the house." There wasn't that overwhelming feeling that something was lurking around every corner ready to snatch her.

"We should do something later to celebrate your birthday. What do you think?" She still wanted him to have a good day somehow, she was just at a loss for what they could do.

"I slept a lot at the hospital. I don't want to sleep." Mitsu almost whined. Though a nap would probably do her good at the moment. "I feel like I should do something for you." She tried to give it some thought as she snuggled a little bit closer, his presence easing the tension she felt about being here.

"Oh, I know something." Mitsu looked up at Desmond like she had come up with the greatest idea. Which was really her only idea so far. "If your back is anything like mine its probably sore from sleeping on the hospital bed. I can give you a nice back rub." She offered pleased that she had thought of something that didn't require them to really do much. Like Desmond she was a little hesitant to leave but she would do it if there was something he wanted to do.

What she had offered seemed to perk his interest. Mitsu could see it in those cobalt blue eyes of his. But...why the sudden decline? Was it because of her current condition? "But I want to." Mitsu smiled in a reassuring way. "You can lay down here if you want so we don't even have to move. It doesn't take a lot of energy to give a back rub."

Sitting up on her knees Mitsu scooted closer so that she could reach him easily. "I think you deserve at least a back rub." She said as she placed her hands on his shoulders and started to knead the muscle there gently. "You've had a rough day."

Mitsu's eyes shifted away a little as he brought up the fact her day hadn't been all that great either. True it had been rough between the fan girls and Tessa. The photos upset her or maybe she felt a little jealous? She didn't like seeing Desmond with other people especially so intimately now that they were actually a couple. It hurt a little to know he had been with Tessa, especially when it seemed she was out to get her but there wasn't much either of them could do about their pasts. It wouldn't be right for her to be upset with him over it but it didn't keep that strange feeling at bay.

"I'm with you now and I'm not in the hospital." Mitsu said pointing out the positives of the day. Shifting a bit she straddled his legs so that she could sit on his lap and face him more fully. It seemed like she was going to continue rubbing his shoulders but instead she slid her arms around his neck and hugged him close, resting her head next to his. "I don't really want to think about the bad stuff that happened today." She mumbled.

When Desmond wrapped his arms around her and held her tight Mitsu made a small noise of discomfort. While there wasn't constant pain she was still a bit sore and she could feel the bandages rubbing against her. She would have to get rid of them soon.

As far as what to say she was at a loss. While it upset her a little to think that Desmond had been with Tessa and it was just a casual memory in his mind, bad or not, she was willing to leave it behind. There was no use dwelling on it, though whether she would be able to forget it was another story, those pictures were burned into her mind. But as Desmond continued to pour out the bad qualities he once possessed Mitsu sat back a little, bringing around a hand so that she could place a finger against his lips.

"I don't care about all that, Desmond. The past is behind us and can't be changed. If it bothered me so much I wouldn't be with you now. I admit...I was a little caught off guard by the pictures. It wasn't something....I ever expected to see. Or wanted to. I guess it's just my selfish side...I don't like to think of you with anyone other than me." It wasn't a very flattering thing to admit about herself but it was true. She was selfish when it came to Desmond, she didn't want to lose him.

Moving her hand so that it was resting against his cheek, her bright red eyes looked into those deep cobalt blue ones. "So, I'll forgive you...if you can forgive me." She tried to smile a little with the offer hoping to lighten the situation. It made her wonder if this was how Desmond felt when he realized she had been with Shun. If so...she felt all the more terrible. The regret still wasn't there, but she hated to have made Desmond feel this way.

Mitsu smiled a little more when Desmond held her close again. Having him close was what really mattered after all.

"Oh.." Mitsu sounded slightly surprised as they toppled over onto the couch. She was glad Desmond was being gentle with her at the moment.

Looking into his eyes that smiled grew even more at his request. "Of course," Leaning forward just a little she lightly brushed her lips against his teasing almost at first until she moved forward a little bit more. She liked the feel of his cool lips against her's so it took a moment for her to actually pull back to break the kiss, smiling up at him playfully. "So what else do you want for your birthday?" As she asked her fingers traced over the defined muscles of his chest through his shirt. From the look she was giving him it seemed she was asking about a little bit more than just a kiss.

"Don't worry," Mitsu smiled pressing a hand to his cheek. "I'm okay just...be gentle with me?" Though if they were going to do anything it would probably be best if she removed the bandages before hand. She was pretty sure it would be more of a deterrent than anything.

"I'm going to run to the bathroom first okay?" Pressing another soft kiss to his lips Mitsu started to push her way up again. "I'll be right back." Standing she moved around the couch and down the small hallway, disappearing into the bathroom.

Closing the door Mitsu carefully pulled off her shirt, the act of raising her arms to do so still a little difficult. With it out of the way she searched for the end of the bandages and when she finally found it she began unwrapping. There were a lot of layers, taking her a bit to actually remove the whole thing. To a point it probably would have been faster to cut through them all but that would have required her finding scissors and she had no idea where any might be.

With the gauze and wrap now removed Mitsu curiously turned to have a look at her back in the tall mirror attached to the door. She was rather used to having scars now but these were rather big. Three long gashes that ran down the length of her back. Her front only held three smaller lines where the blades had gone through her chest.

She seemed a little saddened for a moment but there wasn't much she could do. Desmond wouldn't mind right? He had never said anything about her other scars and he had no doubt seen them and he still called her beautiful. He would be accepting of something like this wouldn't he?

Fairly confident there wouldn't be a problem, Mitsu slipped her shirt back on and exited the bathroom. Peeking around the corner first Mitsu re-entered the living room coming up behind the couch instead of going around it, a smile on her face. "I'm back."
