Eda was caught off guard when Hiru suddenly appeared in her vision. She jumped a bit, her hand instinctivly flying to her knife, and her humming stopping abruptly. But when she realized that it was only him, she sighed, shaking her head. She wondered why he wasn't talking to her anymore, had she done something wrong? But she didn't press the issue in fear of offending him more. Eda sighed, sitting down by the fire. She sat crossed-legged, her elbows resting on her knees and her chin cupped in her hands. "You should probably get some sleep." Eda said offhandedly. "Who knows how far we'll have to walk tomorrow to get to civilization." Eda decided not to mention the fact tahty some towns probaby would know of who she was and would barr them from entering. Plus, with Hiru's irratic behavior going to a town robably wouldn't be the greatest choice. But what else coudl they do? Eda's eyes fixed on the jumping flames in the pit. They had always soothed her, though they were a reason to fear for others. People had always thought of her a bit off the deep end, but she had never minded much. Just because people thought she was a criminal, and crazy at that, it didn't effect her ambitions or actions. Why would it? Liars are all around you... ...Can you tell the difference?

Everything is red....
....in the eyes of a demoN As soon as Eda said “sleep”, Hiru frowned. He didn’t want to sleep. He had just gotten his body back. Or, he was being allowed control over it, at least temporarily. That’s what he thought, anyway. He still wasn’t sure how the whole thing worked. But, if the demon was multi-lingual, then why wasn’t it talking to him? Why didn’t it just tell him the truth about what was happening? About what had happened? Perhaps later, when Eda was asleep, he could ask the demon quietly. Now that he was dead, apparently, would he need to sleep at all? Or would he just sit there and stare into a wall?
Hiru went to speak, but as soon as he opened his mouth, his body shifted. He could feel something moving around inside of him. He tried to place a hand over his chest to grip the gem, but the demon held his arms to the side. Suddenly, Hiru lunged forward, and another stomach-full of black fluid came heaving out of his mouth onto the fire pit. In the midst of the black fluid, there was a distinctive mass of some black object, curled up and dissolving as the fluid ate through the wood and the ground underneath. Needless to say, the fire had been put out.
The hole that the fluid was eating became bigger and bigger as the hut filled with black fog, the vapor that was rising from the corrosive black fluid. The stench that the vapor was creating was unearthly. It smelled like something that had been festering inside someone’s rotting colon for two years before being burnt in a microwave oven, then soaked in vinegar for three days and used by dogs like a fire hydrant for a week after that.

Someting crossed the boy's face as she watched him. Something bad. She jumped up onto her feet as he leaned forwards, heaving out black fluid again. All over her hard work of a fire. She threw up her hands, mumbling crossly under her breath. Then the smell came. Her face screwed up. She felt like she was about to vomit, herself. Without a word she exited the hut. She took off her hat, runnning her fingers through her hair. She was tryng to calm down. to think about the reasons why she kept this boy around. Why she didn't just use him as soldier bait. It was obvious that he could hold his all from his pervious shows. Eda pulled her hat back on her head, turning and facing the wall of the hut. In a flash she had taken out her knife, hurling at the side of the cabin wall, wheer it stuck. She turned away. "Better for it to stay there. So I can't murder someone with it." She grunted, looking up at the darkened sky. "Well." She sighed, regaining her cool. "There's nothing to do now but just let him sleep. Maybe I can go find some food while he does so or something." Liars are all around you... ...Can you tell the difference?

Everything is red....
....in the eyes of a demoN Hiru came walking out of the hut, more vapors rolling off him. Before long, it was gone, but more kept pouring out of the hut. He looked over at her, seeing that she was trying not to take her anger out on him. He felt bad, like everything he did was just more and more irritating to her. She had practically gone out of her way to befriend him, and he was acting like a complete jerk. He wasn’t trying to be a pain, he just couldn’t help what was happening to him. Hell, he hardly understood what was going on, and he was the center of it all.
Well, crying about it wasn’t going to do him any good. He would wait for the cloud to thin out inside before going back in, and he would restart her fire for her. Even if she decided to leave, he would wait for her. She had waited for him, so it was the least he could do. He turned and walked back inside, despite how cloudy the hut still was, and began searching for something he could use for a fan to air out the hut.
He found a flat board against a wall, picked it up and started fanning the vapors out. Soon, the hut was clear again, and he could see the man-sized hole that the acid had eaten through in the ground. Easy fix. He took a large stone and placed it over the hole, covering the gap completely with a flat side facing up. From there, he surrounded the pit with smaller rocks and proceeded to pile sticks together so that he could light them on fire. How he was going to do that.... was beyond his knowledge.

Eda paced. A bad habit of hers, along with her humming, which she had also started to do again. She needed to think. Not only about right now, but about the future. where would they go? She couldn't really take him anywhere without people possibly recognizing her. And she didn't want to show him that she was a bad person. Heck, that was the last thing she wanted to do. But she had a job to do. And she couldn't really accomplish it without doing some of her... Less ladylike actions. Eda stopped her pacing, throwing up her hands. "Aye!" She groaned. This whole thing was makign her head spin. How she was supposed to act and how she wanted to be, and how she was. They were like black and white. You just couldn't mix them without getting a mess! Eda sat down with her back to the hut, drawing figures in the dust with her finger. "Alright." She said slowly. She was more a visual person, actually. So drawing it out helped her thing. Helped her reason with herself. She drew a deep, dark line. Then on the right she wrote Hiru, Ladylike, and not alone. On the other side she wrote Job, murderous theif, and living. Her brows furrowed as she stared down at the words. Her humming volume increased as she thought harder. Liars are all around you... ...Can you tell the difference?

Everything is red....
....in the eyes of a demoN Hiru's head snapped to attention when he heard Eda humming. She was almost singing, as loud as she was getting. He just stood there in the hut, quietly listening to her. Of course he didn't recognize the melody, but it was still nice to hear someone else's voice for once.
As the night drew in and the sun fell over the horizon, Hiru emerged from the hut. The smell was completely gone, and the air inside the hut had returned to normal. Hiru slowly inched his way toward Eda, placing his hand on the wall as he stepped quietly near her. If he would have thought about it, he almost looked like he was trying to sneak up on her.
At an uncanny pace, Hiru had picked up on the melody, and was humming it with her as he turned his back against the hut at a 45-degree angle to where she was sitting. Gradually, he raised his volume to match hers. He was humming at an octave lower than where she was, but the notes were on point. He wasn't reading her mind, he was just following her so well because he understood the melody. He could feel it as he hummed with her, his soul moved inside with the different sounds. He even began to make up words in his head, thinking them as he hummed.

Eda didn't stop her humming, but it stopped growing louder. She had reached a stalemate with her mind. The sides were evenly matched, and there was no clear cut winner. So she just had to go with her gut. With Hiru. Well, unless he didn something freaky and weird or tried to murder her. Then she would just have to leave him in the dust to fend for himself. Eda smeared her dust table, standing up. She didn't miss a beat with her humming, though. She wondered what that nusiance was doing, anyhow. She hadn't seen him come out of the hut, even though the stench had been totally unbearable. She would get her knife and find out what he was doing. Now that she was calmed down. Or calmer, at least. She wasn't worried about trying to kill him. She had more self-control than that, anyhow. Eda turned, letting out a small shriek as her eyes fell upon Hiru. Her face flushed in embarrassment. "How-how long have you been standing there?" She stammered. she was kicking herself. For one, not noticing that he had been standing there. And for two, humming out kloud like some sort of freak of nature. Though... When she thought back on it, she had heard someting, as well. A lower humming. She thought it had been just her imagination, her memories messing with her mind. But... it wasn't possible that he had been humming the entire time, could it? Eda raised her brows. "Was that you, humming?" She asked skepticly. She was was beginning to worry about her sanity. Liars are all around you... ...Can you tell the difference?

Everything is red....
....in the eyes of a demoN Hiru had stopped his humming once he heard her shriek. It had not occurred to him that he might startle her if she walked up to him. He had been distracted. Hiru himself was worried about Eda. He didn’t want her to be scared of him, or think ill of him. He was simply happy to finally have someone there with him. But now, he had startled her, just by wanting to be near her.
As sheepish as it had made him feel, he stood up straight in front of her. ”I.... uh....” He turned his head to the side, looking down at the ground, then he looked over to the outer wall of the hut, then back to Eda. ”That song you were humming.... it reminded me of a song that....” He froze, stuck on his own words. He wanted to turn around and walk away. He almost did, but he stopped himself before the demon took his wanting as a literal will to move away from her. ”....That I used to know.”
The song Hiru was referring to was one his mother would sing to him in his sleep. Although, she wasn’t really there, he was simply dreaming of her. In his dreams, she would be there, holding him and singing to him. In his dreams, he was always a child again. But he would sing with her, just like he was doing with Eda. Not that Eda reminded him of his mother, she just brought him a comfort that most humans he had known could never do. So far, she would be the fourth.
Hiru looked down at his feet. He took a step back from her, turning his head sideways. ”I’m.... sorry.” With that, he spun around and quickly walked around the hut, disappearing back inside. In the darkness within the hut, he placed his back against the wall across from the door, huddling his knees against his chest and wrapping his arms around them as he stared down at the fire pit. He’d made a mess of the wood, but he didn’t care. He was always cold. Now that the night was upon them, it would get even colder. But he didn’t care, he was used to it.

Eda was confused as Hiru got flustered, backing away form her, then moving fully into the hut. She rubbed her cheek, sighing softly as she gathered her thoughts. She hadn't meant to make him feel bad. I was just weird, nobody she met had ever known that song. Not that she usually hummed in front of others, though. Put in an odd way, while the memories hurt, she was comforted. Eda grabbed her knife out of the wall, putting it back in it's place, and then went into the cabin. The first thing she noticed started her. The smell was gone, entirely. And, though usually she would have dismissed it, the wood in the fire pit was in a heap. Though it was quite a disaster, it was proof that Hiru had done that. Wood didn't just appear in the hole that used to be the fire pit, now did it? Eda grabbed the flint and the stone, pocketing it so she would remember to start the fire. But first, Eda went over to him, where he was sitting with his back to the wall, hugging his knees to him. He reminded her of herself, before... And it hurt more than she would have thought. She sat down beside him, her head tilted just enough so she could see him out of the corner of her eye. "I didn't mean to make you feel bad." Eda started. She was unsure of her wording, of how much she should say. "You just started me was all. Plus the fact that you knew that song. Nobody I've ever met has known it. That in itself is a bit... Shocking." Eda quickly shook her head. Away from the pretty words and niceities. Back on to buisiness, where Eda's words were sure and confident. She fumbled in her pocket, producing the stone and flint. "I noticed you were trying to start a fire." She begain. "These two things here is what gives off the initial spark. you strike 'em just right, and you can set your fire. you want me to teach you?" Eda offered. She hadn't realized that he could have been so inept when she found him. He was in the woords for goodness sake, but she supposed she had been wrong. She would just have to try to teach him what she could. Hopefully he was a quick learner.Liars are all around you... ...Can you tell the difference?

(great) Alec was at a small shop, sitting at a little table, drinking a cup of tea. He watched as people walked by, not even glancing at him. He thought to himself, How could a place so quiet and yet be hiding such dark secrets? He took another sip of his tea and sighed. He saw a cloaked man across the street who nodded at him, then a person pasted in front of his view but when they cleared the man was gone. "Oh well...so much for taking the afternoon off..." he left some money on the table, put his sword's harnesses back on and walked down the alley he saw the cloaked man in. He pushed in a brick in a wall once no one was around and a door opened. Alec whistled as he walked into the darkness, chiming the song 'Claire de Lune' the best he could.

Everything is red....
....in the eyes of a demoN The first world Hiru had ever known was an island, small and isolated out in the middle of an ocean. That was the first world he was ever found on, the world in which he was born. Although, it was not the world that he was born into. From day one, he knew that none of the people were his family, and he made sure they knew what he knew. When he was six years old, by their count, his closest friend at the time – aside from the necklace he wore – granted him access to a whole new world. He was told that, if he followed this being, it would eventually lead him back to his mother. And so he disappeared, without any trace, and without telling anyone that he was leaving.
From there, in a place called North Korea, he was raised as any other boy, schooled, then home-schooled, and finally set to graduate. However, his friend had other plans in mind. Once again, he disappeared without a trace, and without any prior notice. Not even to his lover. He was seventeen, and had learned far more than anyone he had ever known. But still, none of that would even matter where he was about to go next. Hiru was introduced into a world of violence and bloodshed, destruction and chaos. Yet, through everything he had seen and done, inside, Hiru’s heart refused to change. Nothing could shake him.
Finally, here he is, sitting inside a dark hut, hugging himself because his intelligence startled someone who would have second-guessed his mind’s ability to function in less than a heartbeat. As he sat there, thinking to himself, he remembered everyone he had known. All the people he had come to know, and how every one of them was now lost to him. His step-brother Sora, his mother and sister Hikari, his home-tutor and lover Shinji, his best friend and worst, most hated enemy Jaic, and.... Eda.
Hiru turned just slightly to look at Eda when she sat next to him. Shocking.... was that really the impression that Hiru gave? He just thought that her song sounded nice, and he missed singing as it was. He hadn’t had a chance to sing in forever, no exaggeration. Just, his attention to detail was so sharp that he couldn’t help but follow her. It was like a second nature to him, to be able to mimic those around him. Especially when it came to his musical ear. He had startled her, and yet here she was, practically apologizing to him, in her own way at least.
Hiru sat up straight, releasing his legs and smiling at her. Yet, behind his eyes, a deep pain was showing through. He probably would have cried if he was able to. But, his body had been so heavily replaced by now that he didn’t even have any bodily fluids left to be spared. The black chunk he’d spat earlier was all from the bat that the demon had eaten through his back. Despite everything that was going on in his mind, the demon continued to act upon its own will. Yet, it still kept an open ear to his will, and often acted based upon that. So, it didn’t just want to control him. It was.... what?
Of all things, the demon was the last thing Hiru wanted to think about. He wanted more to think of Eda, and how she was actually being nice now, for a change. Hiru sat up on his knees and scooted over to the fire. He wasn’t going to learn anything unless he tried it for his self. ”Eda....” He turned his head around to look at her, his expression different. It was solid and focused, just like Hiru had told the Death Keeper to make it. He held his hand out to her, all the while his face never flinching, despite the great sorrow he was enduring. All because he wasn’t in control. ”May I see those?”
