The Joker chuckled at Tinkerer's tenseness. "Tink, I'm going to need your help in watching Rosie, too. Despite the obviously large amount of pressure I just put on Panty Raider, no one could be expercted to watch anyone 24/7. I'd like you to install a second closed circuit camera system. This one needs to monitor the inside of the house. The will only be two monitors for it in the whole building. One of them, will be at your workstation. This will allow you to both watch Rosie, and keep an eye out for infiltrators. The other, will be my personal television. Channel 4 currently has no use, so use that."

"Oh, alright." Tinkerer replied, relaxed enough now that his voice wasn't shaking. "Sure thing, boss. I should be able to get that up and going tonight. Ready to be used when Rosie wakes up tomorrow."

"Glad to hear it." The Joker smiled. "Now, keep in mind, one of those monitors will be right in front of you for most of your waking life. As a result, if something like this happens again, you will also be held fully responsible. I'd find that very disappionting. You remember what I told Diaper Raider about disappointing me, yes?"

"Good, because it applies to you, too." Joker sat down in a chair, and then said, "You should also keep a bit of an eye on that Raider guy. I really don't want to have to upset Rosie by killing him. Keep him on track."

Tinkerer nodded. "Alright, sir. I'll do what I can." he replied, then paused for a moment. "Maybe I can try to install some mini speakers around the house. If he...gets off track...I can give him a little reminder. Or remind Rosie to calm down a little bit or...something. Maybe make some smaller robot units to send out if they break something or knock stuff over..." he mused quietly.

"All very good ideas, which I would like you to get to work on, as soon as our current schedule allows," the Joker said in a very approving tone. "I KNEW there was a reason I decided against killing you out of hand." The only real reason Joker said that last bit was simply to keep Tinkerer off-balance. The Clown Prince's feelings were that it was good to remind people of who he was every now and again. "You may go now. Please send in Rosie."

And it did throw him off a bit. Tinkerer hesitated before exiting the room as he puzzled briefly over the last statement. But...he had work to do, so he could figure it out over the computer. "Sure thing boss." Tinkerer said as he left the room.
A few moments later, the door opened again, and Rosie stepped into the room. Still working on a large lolly, and...a bit of a quizzical look on her face. No one had said anything, but she could sense that there was something wrong with Raider. Emotionally anyway.
Regardless...she was happy to see that he had come out of the room unscathed, and she was getting a little bit of one on one time with Joker.

"Hey, dearie!" the clown's face grew into a large, genuinely happy smile as she entered. "Did you know that you saved someone's life today?" Joker patted his lap, inviting her to sit there.

Rosie gave him a little smile as she started towards him. "Is....that why it looked like Death Raider wanted to cry?" she asked. She slid the lolly into her mouth to free her hands so she could climb up and into his lap. Then pulled it back out and nibbled on the section that was gone far enough that bubblegum was accessible.

"That's exactly why, sweetie," the Joker said, putting an arm around her. "You see, here in Gotham, we have standards for the bad guys. Death Raider exactly fails to meet just about all of them. Under any other situation, I'd have killed him tonight, if not sooner."

"That's correct, my intelligent little girl!" the Joker said merrily, touching her nose as he said 'intelligent'. "I didn't kill him, because you like him. And I want you to be happy. So I'm instead giving him a chance to get up to snuff. I'm not going to sugarcoat it for you, though. If he fails to show some real improvement in a reasonable amount of time, I will kill him. Nobody in this city messes with me for a reason. That reason is because I let nothing slide." Then the Joker added thoughtfully, "Well, there's also the reason that I'm completely off my rocker, but let's not get into that right now. Even my enemies respect me. Everything I do has a reason behind it. Granted, many times, that reason is because it was funny, but there's always a reason."

Rosie looked up at him and listened, taking the lollypop completely away from her mouth so that he had her full attention. Once he was finished talking, she glanced down at the ground for a moment to think about what he had just said.
When she looked back up at him, she gave him a smile. "I understand." she replied. "Thank you. I'll try to help make sure he meets your standards." she said, giving him a kiss on the cheek.
