
One bossy woman replaced by another. Jan stayed wisely silent while the strange girl took care of his wound, but his discontent showed clearly in his tight expression and the glare he shot at her when she turned her back on him.
Everything was going wrong on this trip. There were so many people around reminding him of the one person he didn't want to think about. It simply wasn't fair.
He gave a barely audible sighed as he leaned back against a piece of what probably used to be a part of the engine, resting his head against the cooling metal while watching the others wander further off into the darkness on their quest for firewood.
Just sitting here like this felt nearly peaceful. The dizziness was fading slowly, making way for what promised to become a massive headache. Still, right now it seemed like an aspirin would be able to solve all of his problems.
Of course those were somewhere at the bottom of the bag stuffed under the bed in his cabin though.
