He examined the trinket and just before touching it, he was zapped. "OW!" he cursed, immediatly putting the zapped finger in his mouth. "That hurt." he mumbled, taking his finger out of his mouth and noticing a little red mark. "I guess that means he's still functional??" he wondered out loud as he closed the hatch and put the robot back on it's back.
He put his ear to the small creatures chest and noticed despite him being made of metal how warm the chest was...but not a the normal warm. "Hmm...I don't know I don't hear anything. But I don't imagine a robot to be warm for no reason right?" he said retracting his head and standing, crossing his arms and putting a paw to his chin in thought.

Letting go of his shoulders quickly as he reeled back from the shock, she blinked and moved to his side to crouch down. "You Alright?" Kay asked, looking to his finger to see the red spot before back at the medabot. Must have been some kind of protective measure... "At least we know its important."
Once he was flipped, she marveled at the notion that he was warm; and couldn't help but put her paw on the little robot's chest to find indeed he was rather warm to the touch. "Amazing....he doesn't seem to have any other panels like his back though...." It would at least give them some kind of idea if it was more than just a circuitry problem.
"Well.....maybe he's waterlogged? I don't see any ventilation holes....I doubt a fan would be much good..." So much for that idea at least, she thought as she glanced back to see if he'd gotten and ideas yet.

"Yeah I'm alright...it just smarted" he grinned stupidly looking over the white fox. "I guess...I just wonder why it's being held in. Do you think maybe it's supposed to come out?" he wondered, casting a glance to her.
"I don't know...I mean..apart from the obvious metal bits...everything else seems so real. Like us. I don't know how water could have gotten in if he doesn't have any openings anywhere." He scratched his head in confusion while walking to the kitchen and getting a pot out to fill with water. Like it or not, there was little he could do for the fox, so he would focus on being a good host and fixing food for all of them.
"I think maybe if we leave him alone, something will happen that can give us a clue...and if he's dead...well..then at least he saved us." he said in a somewhat grim tone. It was never a good thing to say someone is dead and spent the last of their energy trying to save someone, but who knows....maybe he was just knocked out.

"I think if it zapped you, that might be a no..." Kay smiled weakly and watched him head back to the kitchen to what she assumed was start dinner. Now that the excitement had worn off she realized she was really hungry as she rubbed her tummy lightly.
He did seem so real, and it was rather confusing ordeal...but she also figured it was best to leave him rest if that was in fact what he was doing. She wasn't too pleased on the comment about if he was dead, for she refused to believe it if he was so warm. Heading back to her room she took the blanket from the bed and brought it back with her, putting it over the medabot just in case. Because if something was real in him she didn't want to risk the chills that being in the ocean must have given him. Once she was satisfied she returned to the kitchen once more, hearing the complaining groan of her tummy.
"Can I help?" She asked, looking around for something to do, even if he was going to cook she did feel a little bad if she was to sit around and do nothing.

"He brought out the chicken and noticed it was not only frozen already, but it had to be cooked...how annoying. "How much chicken do you want?" he asked as he pulled out a small pan and filled it part way with luke-warm water, and taking one of the frozen chicken breasts out of the package and put it in the pot, letting it rest in the sink, while he turned around wondering what he could do.
He noticed Kay put a blanket over him and he shook his head. "I'll put him in my bed tonight so he can have all the comfort possible..I don't mind sleeping on the couch anyway" he smiled as he took a wash cloth and soaked it in lukewarm water. Draining it and folding it up, soon walking over and placing it on the medabot, noticing he seemed much warmer than before. "Hmm..."
"Well until the chicken thaws, there isn't much I can do, but if you want to prep whatever you would put on your dish, then by all means, go ahead" he said as he plopped down in a nearby chair, knowing it would be about 10 minutes before the chicken thawed out

"Not a lot, one should be more than fine!" The vixen smiled as she watched him work away, remaining in the kitchen as he took a cloth out to the medabot to keep him warm. Turning to watch, she thought it was an awfully sweet notion for him to give up his bed for him; only hoping that he was in fact just sleeping.
Without thinking, she piped up, "Why don't you just sleep with me?" Obviously blurting the first thing which had come to mind before her words had really sunk in, hitting hard a few moments later. Turning cherry with a near mortified expression her paws came up to wave frantically in dismissal. "Oh god, um, not like...that I mean.....just thought it would be nice....er.....god that was out of line."
Quickly turning to save face she swung open the fridge door and nodded as she hoped the cool air would rid that embarrassed blush. "Yes...prepping things, I will do that!" She chattered to ease her own nerves and ended up pulling out some carrots and lettuce to the counter. Standing and trying to busy herself with a salad, mentally kicking herself. Way to look like a moron there, Kay!

Although secretly wanting to watch the news, he couldn't tear his eyes away from the guest laying on the couch. His eyes were fixed and trying to catch the slightest of movements, but he only ended up fooling himself on several occasions. He reached for the remote when she had spoken again.
Looking over to her, immediately his dirty mind caught the implication. "Well damn Kay.." he thought with a smirk and a wink. He knew what she meant, but he was certainly going to tug at her leg before giving in and letting her know he was joking. "I kid I kid..I know what you meant...and as sweet of an offer as it is, I don't think I would be willing to share the bed, so I'll stick with the couch" he said as he turned his attention back on the TV, flipping through the channels. Nothing appealed to him until he turned to a kids show and say brightly colored robots moving around..."Huh....What is this?" he pondered, putting the remote down and watching a boy named Ikki and some robot guy 'robattle' against another guy..then a commercial popped up and he about had a heart attack. "jskdghsfghsj...WHAAAT!!?!?!?" he shot a look to the robot lying on the couch and then to the tv in absolute dissaray

Feeling the temperature of the kitchen had turned into an inferno she refused to turn around least her bright red face be exposed, paws making quick work of ripping the lettuce to make salad. The tease didn't help situations, as she felt her head hang a bit in defeat at her own mindless jabber...even though she did understand he was simply pulling her leg. "Yes yes....of course." She stammered, and brought out the cutting board and a knife to cut carrots.
As silence once again filled the kitchen other than the sounds of abruptly changing channels; the vixen let her shoulders relax and her ears falls....mentally playing music as she hummed softly the gentle and calming melody. One carrot......two carrot.....three carrot... She counted after she'd diced each one, finishing with the last when his sudden yell startled her and she caught her finger under the blade. Yelping in that moment of pain, she quickly put the finger into her mouth to keep the paper thin cut closed and walked to the living room. "Whus goin' on?" She mumbled, noticing the way he was looking to the medabot as if he'd seen a ghost or something.

He noted her discomfort and frowned only a bit. He was no fool in reading body actions..it was obvious to him she was embarrassed...probably by her own comment. He sighed silently and decided it would be best if he just left the topic open since it seemed to make her uncomfortable. So hard to flirt when everyone turns beat red on you he grumbled in his thoughts
But now this show was mocking him. He slide out of the chair and was in disbelief that there was a show. What kind of sick mockery. "Kay...Medabots..is a cartoon on TV..." he stammered with his face white. With this thought in mind, he just had to question everything he knew. Where all cartoons really real? Or was there just some kind of twisted paradox that brought a cartoon character to life. Maybe even...an alternate reality. His spine shivered at the thought.
"Wait...if this is a show about you.." he murmured looking to the damaged robot. "maybe we can learn more about you through this!" he said in triumph paying the utmost attention to the tv. He went through the entire episode and virtually got nothing....except what that thing was in the back and how it was supposed to work. He was now even more confused

Raising her brows she watched him, them looked at the TV, then to the fox on the couch. She wasn't sure where he was getting at, so she nodded until the really thought about it and hummed a moment as if pondering. "Actually...I recall my cousins obsessing over that show....too bad I can't call 'em up!" She mused, but noticed how intently he got into the show and decided to stop bugging now that she was done with the kitchen.
"I'm....going to go get a band aid." She mentioned quietly and slipped down the hall into the bathroom, scrounging around the cupboard for the pesky things while pondering his statement.
....Maybe he's just based off the cartoon? I know I've seen some uncanny resemblances to characters.....but heck....if foxes can come from noodles I never thought much of that either... Pondering, further, she looked at the droplet of blood pooling on the tip of her paw tip; finally finding the box as she tried to open the wrapping.

Too busy trying to wrap his head around everything, he was thankful the show was over. He had failed to notice Kay had even cut herself...Flopping on the floor, he stared at the ceiling. These were the things that kept him up on late nights. Thinking...such a dangerous tool. Slowly his head turned to the couch. Only seeing the bottom and underneath, he could only feel further lost. "I guess we'll never know how this place works..." he muttered to himself. He tried oh so hard to forget about it, but it ate at him..till he caught Kay's words. "Band-aide??"
He sat up and got to his feet. Feeling completely stupid he walked to the bathroom, but being polite he only stood at the doorway, facing the wall opposite of him. "I didn't know you hurt yourself" he said wanting to slap himself for not noticing.

Catching what he'd said in the living room, she could only smile to herself as she shook her head. "You know....I don't think I want to know how this place works....that seems a scarier notion than remaining ignorant." At least she thought so, then again the notion of magic often gave her the creeps; and often steered clear of things she couldn't understand or begin to explain.
Looking to the doorway after cursing whoever thought of the band aid's wrapper design for larger hands let alone paws of all things; she smiled. "I'm decent you know." Kay chuckled, before poking her head out the door to look at him. "Yeah, knife slip up....just stings, you know...like a papercut!" Lords knew how many she'd had those and let lose with some profanities! "I just don't want to contaminate things...mind helping?" She asked and stepped out of the doorway, holding up the band aid she'd been trying to open.

He had to agree. There were several things he liked to remain ignorant on, and this was probably one of them. "I guess you're right. No use in trying to worry about it" he smirked.
He peeked in through the door and held out a paw, somehow knowing she would ask for help in the long run. "I guess that's not so bad..Here I was thinking you sliced your finger off" he remarked, shaking his head as he fumbled with the wrapper as well, but finally managed to use his little fox claws to help. AS soon as he got it mostly opened, he handed it back to her. "I guess I can finish making the food for the dinner right?" he smirked as he turned and moved back to the kitchen, taking the chicken from the pot and putting it on a skillet with some vegetable oil and topping it with several types of spices. Then he moved to put the egg noodles into water and started cooking those at the same time, setting a timer and soon just lounging in the kitchen for another 10 minutes.
"Do you think the robot will want some food?" he stupidly asked. At this point he still wasn't sure it was even alive...much less wanting to eat

"At least not to the point of losing sleep!" The vixen chimed, watching him work the wrapper open with his claws calmly. Taking it back from him as she could now with ease slip it and secure it on her finger. "Thank you....and no...." She gave a short laugh, "If that happened you would have realized right away, I'm not a very quiet person when it comes to real pain!"
Putting the wrapper in the garbage she too found her way back to the kitchen and watched with a smile. Leaning up against the wall near the window she found herself looking between him and the outside world, now dark from the storm clouds which had fully moved in.
"Want? Probably not....but might as well leave some extra least we can coax him into thinking he deserves it." Looking over she smiled and pushed some of her hair behind her ear, then back to the medabot. She knew he did after risking his life, even before he deserved kindness....even if the little guy refused to believe it. "Think its going to rain soon?" She asked absently, seeing as it was a waiting game at this point for the food.

"True" he replied. "But some of the best thoughts are the ones that require sacrifice of sleep." he chuckled, knowing well he had gone several nights just sitting around and trying to answer dangerous questions. A terrible past time...but a different one none the less.
"Hmm...Well I can certainly leave him at least some fruit. I didn't see any left on the plate....not like I had time to look" he commented, casting a look outside, surprised to see how dark it had gotten. Almost on cue, as if the storm was just waiting, the skies seemed to split open as rain pounded the roof. Lighting flashes outside made everything look like day for only a second but the ear splitting thunder is what really shook Banes...and the house. "Jeez...storm like this and we might loose power" he said as he stirred the pasta and flipped the chicken onto it's other side
